Hummingbird Down Imaging
I'm thinking about purchasing the Humingbird 596c HD DI. If anyone has any reviews or anything it would be appreciated. Also, if you know I will need any extra accessories to mount it, feel free to throw out any advice.

carolina rigs
I was on the water today throwing a carolina rig. This is not something I've thrown too often. I know the basics of the setup. brass/tungsten weight, bead, swivel, & leader. I am wondering who all adds a brass ticker in between their weight and bead for an added ticking noise? Or who uses 2 beads instead of one?

Neko Rig
Gobig, you say straws as o-rings? Do you cut them into many smaller pieces and slide them onto the middle of you're worm?

Neko Rig
I stumbled across this rig while just looking at some Japanese tackle websites. It seems like a variation of wacky rigging. Anyone have any insight or information about this rig? Seems like another light tackle, Japanese, fish catching machines that has yet to make way over here in the U.S.

Bream patterned lures
My local lake has a very good amount of Bream in it. Not really as many shad as Bream. What lures would you guys throw this time of year to try and "match the hatch"?

Soft Plastics Rod Under $100
I bought a 6'10" Falcon Lowrider XG which is labeled as the Eakins Finesse Jig Rod. I primarily use it as a texas rig rod which is what I bought it for. Compared to the Lizard Dragger Model which is 7 ft it has a little bit softer tip which allows for lighter weights to be thrown. I think it's more versatile as a texas rig rod. Also it specifies as a jig rod too.

Jackall Lures
Went out this morning in about 20 mph winds and absolutely smoked them on Jackall's Bostick which is their equivalent to the Spook. Caught 5 in the matter of 20 minutes. Later on I was throwing a Muscle Deep 15 off a very windy point and snagged a couple more. I used their flick n' shake jig head with zoom finesse worms through the spawn and was very impressed. This was a very quick way to put numbers in the boat. I out fished my buddy who was drop shotting on this. Overall, I have been very impressed by Jackall and their products. I would recommend them to anyone. The reason I bought Jackall over Lucky Craft was because I wanted to be a little different. I'd say good choice on my part.

Shaky Head
Dave's tournament tackle jig head and a strike king 3x finesse worm. Dave's jig head has a spring that you twist the worm down on so it doesn't come off. When I use the 3 worms I heat up the tip of a safety pin with a lighter and poke the worm to form an entrance way for the worm. Anyone who has used the strike king 3x worm on a shaky head knows that it's almost impossible to put it on a head with the spring on it.

McNaughton Who??? Did anyone else see this!!! (Lawsuit)
So anyone who makes a beaver type bait is being sued? That's ridiculous. This is the first time i've seen this thread and link but I think it's funny. This is the fishing industry, everyone copies one another. A company isn't going to let a highly successful lure go without being reproduced to some extent. As far as those being sued, what about bass pro, and gambler? They both make a beaver style bait but I didn't see their names on the list. I'm sure there are others who aren't on the list also.

Are all Mojo Bass Rods this crappy or did I just get a bad one???
I've had the guide inserts fall out also. I purchased the Mojo last summer and returned it after the tip had a piece off of it, which was probably due to shipping or w/e. I exchanged it for the same Mojo and within two times on the water, my guide insert fell out. I returned it and then exchanged it for a Shimano Compre which is about the same price. Shimano has a lifetime warranty. This was a great exchange because I haven't had a single problem with the Compre yet. I was very disappointed with St. Croix. I have a 7 ft - Medium Crankbait Avid that I had before the Mojo and I love it. It's one of the best rod's I've used. I haven't ever had a problem with it. I guess the difference in craftsmanship of a $100 rod, and a $180 rod is huge. I haven't bought a St. Croix since the Mojo let me down. If I were to purchase another it'd be another avid or something that is on the higher end of their rods.

Finesse rod help please...
I read a pretty good article by Iaconelli on bassmaster.com as part of his finesse series. This was the last article in the bunch and it was devoted to rods. He did a great job explaining how he likes to match his finesse rods with specific techniques. He doesn't mention a specific brand but he explains the art behind everything. I'd check it out before purchasing a finesse rod. Make sure that you're getting the right rod per technique that you favor and etc... http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/fishingtips/news/story?page=b_FT_MS_Iaconelli_Finesse6

Central North Carolina/Postspawn
I'm going out on Baiden Lake Friday and Saturday. It's on the same river system as High Rock Lake which is the home of David Fritts and hosted the '95 and '97 classics. Temperatures have been a consistent 70 and up to mid 80's for about 3 or 4 weeks now. I'm thinking that they should be postspawn. Any tips that could help me out for this weekend would be greatly appreciated.

Organizing soft plastics
I have the worm bag from bass pro and I'm running out of plastic bags. Are there any alternatives that can be purchased at Lowes, Walmart, etc..? I live about 2 hours away from BPS and I don't think ordering extra bags would be worth it considering shipping price.

Denali Rods
I'm no pro nor a co-angler who fishes any pro tournaments. just a college kid who fishes a ton so I have no corporate requirements. I picked one up at the North Carolina Fishing Expo over the Winter. I had never heard of the Company before I saw their rods at the expo. I ended up getting a 7 ft MH with a moderate tip in the Jadewood series for just at $100. This is their deep crank bait rod in the Jadewood series. On the site they list it as being able to handle cranks such as the Norman DD 22 and other very deep cranks. I haven't thrown any deep divers on it because it isn't that time of the year yet but I've thrown 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz lipless' and it handles them very easily. I've also thrown cranks such as the Deep Little N from Norman which runs at 10-12 ft and the Spro little MD which runs 7-9 and maybe 10 on light line. It handled all of the above with relative ease. I ripped lipless' through grass and it cleared easily. All in all I have been very impressed by Denali. Sensitive enough to be able to tell is there is grass and if you have a fish taking your lure. Enough back bone to set the hook without ripping out the trebles. I love the rod so far. I think it performs above it's price point. I have a bass pro crankin stick, a st. croix avid cranking rod, and it is as good as both of those. at $100 the jadewood is a great purchase. I hope this helps.

jigs
I have a question that lies on this category. What is the difference between football heads and finesse jigs? I guess what I'm asking is what the situations where you would choose a finesse jig? I understand that footballs need to be used in deeper water along rocks, off points, and off shore structure where they cannot hang up easily. However, I'm not sure what type of situations to throw a finesse jig. What setup would you throw a finesse on?

Stage of fish in Florida right now?
Going to visit a friend in Florida this weekend. He is getting us out on Lake Nona near Orlando. Wondering if anyone has any tips about the lake or the current status of the Florida bass? Pre-spawn?

Lake Nona - Florida
I'm going to Florida this weekend to visit a friend who lives in Orlando. He is getting us out on Lake Nona near Orlando. I live in North Carolina so I'm not familiar with this lake whatsoever. I'm only looking at taking a couple rods and a very select few lures/plastics. If anyone has any tips for me about that lake as to what type of fishing I should equip myself for that would be great. Also, what stage are the fish in Florida currently in?

BPS Reel Trade In... Are you kidding me?!?
I had the same exact thing happen to me yesterday. They were all out of the RCX reels, carbonlites, and the pro qualifier tournament edition was only available in one gear ratio. I ended up going with 2 David Fritts crankbait reels for $60 a piece and a Johnny Morris Signature Series reel. All in all, Bass Pro cannot supply even close to the amount that they need. Poor planning. Last but not least, no rain checks...what the hell?

HELP (Urgent)...Texas Rig Setup? (Falcon Lowrider)
I've been looking online and I'm trying to decide which model I should go with? The 6'10" MH with a fast action, 6'8" MH with moderate fast action. the 6'10" as a "eakins jig special", the 6'8" MH as soft plastics, jigs, and bit spinnerbaits. I'm going to purchase one this weekend at Bass Pro but I want to make sure I choose the right one. Help.......

Tomorrow looks like low 40's to high 40's. Fishing a reservoir with not too a whole lot of structure. It has major docks, some grass, a few drop offs.
