  1. Thanks for all the tips guys. RoLo, great explanation. I think maybe I'm not giving them enough time and slack, so they feel the resistance and let go. Now hopefully i get enough time this week to put the advice to practical use.
  2. E2 Needle worm. Check out the video of it. The action is awesome!
  3. Thanks for all the responses guys. I have been using a St Croix premier 6" 6" med heavy rod, fast action, with 40lb braid. Would I be better off with my 6'8" Powell Max Heavy, fast action w/50lb braid? I was using a 3/0 owner twistlock, and I switched to a stanley swimmax weighted hook, I believe 4/0. Neither seemed to make a difference. I guess I'm not waiting long enough. Should you really count to 3 slowly? I'll also try the Megastrike, since I have some.
  4. hey guys, I've started using stanley Ribbit frogs recently. I like the action but am having a hard time hooking up. Am I not waiting long enough? When retrieved over the slop I got some hellacious hits the other night and couldn't hook up. Help!
  5. Feel free to send me one anytime! :D :D
  6. I guess i'm not the only one . Ardent rigger multi tool bought this spring. Jury is still out on it. the first one the braided line cutter broke, and since that was the main reason i bought it, it kind of ticked me off. E-mailed Ardent and they sent me another on no questions asked. The clippers leave a lot to be desired, but the line cutter works OK. Like I said, still not sure yet.

how much did they run you? and did you get a discount? Yea I did(he's pretty high up in the Co) I believe retail the jacket is roughly $100 and the pants $80. I paid $75 shipped for the whole thing, so I'm a pretty happy guy right now. Saves me money for more tackle I probably don't need. Here's the link to their site: http://www.rockyboots.com/Products/search.aspx?PageNo=2&CatId=104&subCatId=112

My brother works for Rocky Boots and I just got a Rocky WorkSmart rain jacket and pants. haven't had a chance to try them, but i like the fit and the construction.
  9. When I was 14 years old(LOOOOONG time ago) I bought my first lure purchased with my own money, a jointed, frog colored jitterbug. That lure had 9 lives. No lie, that lure was lost and found 3 times. My Uncle lost it the first night I had it when he cast and it flew off the line. An hour later we heard something tapping against the side of the boat and there it was. Then a buddy broke it off on a fish at night and we found it floating in the pond the next day. Then the same buddy broke it off on another fish, and another buddy, while I was with him, found it stuck in the ice next to a stump with the hooks mostly rusted off. I always thought that was really cool.

  11. I am a NY Game Warden. In NY fishing w/o a valid license or failure to carry license on your person is a violation punishable by a fine of from $0-$250 or 15 days in jail. The amount is up to the judge. However, New York State, in an effort to raise money for the General Fund, has implemented an automatic $75 surcharge on conviction for any Conservation Law violations(including fishing without) before any fine is even imposed. So it will cost you at least $75 in NY if convicted, plus whatever fine the judge wants to impose. Seems like an awful risk to take for saving $19.
  12. +1 and black on black buzzbaits +2
  13. if you have thick, floating weeds, nothing better than a frog. just make sure your heart is healthy enough.

just started using them, and haven't had much time at that. So far a steady retrieve, but i guess that's another good question for the forum.

did a search and didn't find anything on this. What experience do you guys have with wake baits? I've heard good stuff but want real world feedback. I recently bought a Cabelas june frog, Mann's elite waker and Baby waker, and a Lucky Craft mini ssr(5.99 at cabelas in Maine, awesome deal!) I tied on the june frog just to see the action the other day and liked it a lot. Any thoughts?
  17. We get it almost every year with perch and sunfish. I've asked biologists and they said that it is probably spawn stress.
  18. Wow awesome fish! I guess I wasn't aware that Japan had lakes capable of producing a world record fish. As much as I congratulate the fisherman, I wouldn't want to be him. This is going to be the most scrutinized catch in the history of fishing.
  19. this is an easy one. Uh, never!
  20. hey all, can anyone recommend a decent spincast reel for my son. I've tried a couple(rhino, abumatic) and have been less than impressed.
  21. this is the most recent reply. He finally answered why he is selling it so low: I'm not a fisherman and I can't even swim, I don't need the boat if my brother can't use it. My brother fell off a horse and got paralyzed, he loves fishing and I can't imagine how much he will suffer not being able to fish for the rest of his life. When I bought this boat for my brother, I paid $5500 because I bought it from a rich friend of mine... it was more like a gift... he knew I don't have enough money to pay the price for it.. That's why I want to sell it for $5500 it will not be fair to sell it for more! Besides, we decided to make someone happy as we were when we bought it! I'm not stupid and I know the price on the market is higher. I've already made a couple of calls to people I know, and I'm going to make more tomorrow. I'm going after this guy. More to follow.
  22. like I said, I had no intention of buying it. I'm wondering now if someone could be contacted and try to snag this guy.

It acts like a third party between seller and buyer, to insure that the buyer receives the item and the seller receives the payment. If you want to buy the boat, get back to me and I'll tell you how it works. He still hasn't answered my question as to why he is asking such a low price. 24. I gotta say, that is the most realistic craw bait i have ever seen. almost looks good enough to eat!!!
  25. Was watching the Elite Series Tournament form the Mississippi and saw Shaw Grigsby with a bright orange prop on his trolling motor. Anyone know anything about them? Just curious.
