Need a new rod
Haha... I know this subject has been beaten to death but my main question I would say is anyone have any experience with these new shimano rods. They sound like a real nice stick. And I would have to say my other option I was going to go with was an ugly stick. Yes 4 rods this year. 2 were just old spinning, 1 quantum torsion and 1 rhino rod. Yes all cheapies but still if bought them all together would equal probably the price of my mojo bass. Hell she was using my mojo last night for a little bit talk about nerve wrecking.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Thats what I mean this one is stronger than the other one. I always see this one getting updated quicker than the other. I pretty much never read through the other one. Thats why it would be nice to use one thread.

Need a new rod
Hey guys need to get another casting rod. Looking to mostly be throwing soft plastics and such. Want something cheap. what do you guys think of the Shimano Voltaeus lineup. I was looking into either the M or MH 6' rods. Wondering if maybe the MH would give me a little more sensitivity than the M would not sure tho. Icast just did a review on them and loved them and said there nearly un-breakable. Heck they even ran one over with a car and slammed it in car doors without it breaking. This one would be for primarily the GF, she has already broken 4 rods this yr alone due to misuse. Thats why I have the st croix and she usually gets the wall mary 20$ sticks. However I would like to have one that I too enjoy. Anyone have any thoughts.

Help
To really get her in their I would def go to mill pond in nashua. If you get off exit 5 go towards hollis over the bridge and take ur second right. at the stop sign take a left and then take a right to go around the side of the ice rink. U will see a left take that and follow it down it will be a stadium go to the right of it down the dirt road and around the bend. U will park right at the d**n. there is a trail thats blocked by a gate follow that down straight and right on the left you will find little paths to the water. great and best spot imo on mill pond. get her attatched a live crawler on a hook with a bobber guarentee you she will be catching sunnies and what not all day long. Hope this helps and for sure once she catchs one she will be hooked.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
got out last night up to massabesic had a great time. walked about a mile in off of 28. found a perfect spot. I got skunkrd however the gf caught a small crappie about a 10 inch catfish which was really cool. and about a 13inch lm bass. she was really happy seeing as she never catches anything but the sun fish. coming out of there about 1am was a little scary with only 1 led headlamp. gf is petrified of the dark so it was funny for me.

soft bait glue ????
Hey guys. I just picked up mighty mendit last night and tried it out. Seemed to work ok on a few senko's but wondering if there are different versions. The one I picked up states its mostly used for fabric. Is this the right stuff. Just wondering if there was a different version meant for soft plastics.

I have bought a few packs of the skip gap hooks and def like how they hold the senko's on better especially when throwing into heavy cover and slop. A lot of times with EWG's I would have my senko sitting at the bottom of my hook after pulling it out of junk much like a real worm would be hooked, not so with the skip gap, def worth trying out.

heavy duty rod for heavybass fishing
I just recently picked up a 6'6" mojo bass st croix. Its m/f action and i have caught a few good size bass through weeds hauling at least 10lb worth of lilly pads and junk with the bass and havn't had any issues. I am using a baitcaster however with braid 50#..... If you are using spinning have you ever tried braid. 30# should do the trick for spinning and as far as having a good rod breaking like that either your doing something really wrong or def a defect in the rod. A lot of guys even on here are fishing ultralights even and pulling in big bass, just all in how you work it and what not. small rods will pull in monsters just takes finnesse and patients to work the fish out.

Stren Sonic Braid !
Take it no one has any thoughts or experience with it?

Stren Sonic Braid !
What do you guys think of it. I just picked up some and spooled it up on my baitcast setup 50#. I am switching from powerpro and so far I really like it. Tying seems easier and casting is incredible much farther and smoother than pp. Want to know what to expect from someone whom has used it for a lengthy period of time. Unfortunatly I needed line asap and all the local stores don't carry fireline braid which is what I really wanted.

Advice on a cheap casting combo
Cheap doesn't always mean bad. If you are using really cheap equipment like a rod and reel combo for 20$ stepping up to the pinnacle setup that I described is a nice jump.

Advice on a cheap casting combo
I was on a budget myself this yr starting out and I bought the pinnacle platinum plus baitcaster reel and a quantim torsion. All together ran me 60$ and its truly a nice setup. I liked the reel so much I bought the next step up for 50$ the Solene and both reels are great. After a while bought my first good rod the St. Croix mojo- bass and I can def see why the expensiver rods are worth it. I can cast a mile with that thing. But the Pinnacle P+ and torsion is a great starter combo. PS: I have had 5'6 - 6'6 and everything in between and I feel the 6'6 are perfect and I always am a shore fisherman. Its a really good compromise. A 6' arnt bad but I like the 6'6 better for casting reasons.

New to fishing
some tips- An easy way to get into bass fishing is get yourself a heddon baby torpedo or jitterbug for when sun starts to really go down. Gary Yamamoto senko 4-5" worms. More of a stick bait. These time and time again I catch tons of fish on. Pick darker purple, black, pumpkin colors. Use Gamsaku (pardon the spelling) EWG 3/0 hooks texas rigged. Throw the senkos along weedlines and pretty much everywhere, let it fall and slowly reel it in while stopping every few turns and give it a little wiggle. Be patient with them and you will have good luck. As for the jitterbug and torpedo just cast out as far as you can and give a slow retrieve back, if the time is right they will nail it. Pay attention to these forums and posts about what is working in your area. The senko's work pretty much everywhere thats why I say there a good starter bait to use. A decent reel and rod combination is key as well, ensures you have a good time fishing with quality equipment thats smooth and comfterable. READ READ READ READ Everything and anything. Theres tons of spots on the web with a lot of info. Once you get down some techniques you will figure out where and when to use them and what water conditions mean and so forth. Theres a lot to know but me researching has produced me a heck of a lot more fish than when I didn't.

Nashua fisherman- Nice fish. def topwater is a lot of fun. I absolutly love the heddon torpedo's, I have the mini and I want to go grab a larger one if I can find one. The jitterbugs that are larger and jointed also are a big plus in my book. Caught 2 nights ago a nice 2lber on a black jointed jitter. Also I can't believe it I just order 70 *** from *** all shipped for just under 20$, GYM senko's for that amount would have costed me roughly 47$ or so. Can't wait for them to come in. Hope I got the better ones, got the 4" instead of the 5".

Robinson is way too heavily fished and has been that way for years. There is still some decent bass in their however. If you go straight out from the launch and curve to the left and head back to that back corner where its the inlet to the marshy area, thats where I have had the best luck and seen huge ones jumping.

Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?
Ended up going out last night for a few hrs at my little private spot. Caught 3 small under 1lb and 1 2.5lb on a jitterbug. Man I love top water its def a lot of fun. Notice right at dusk I have the best luck with a good old jitterbug. Tried using a popper for a while with no luck what so ever. Earlier in the day was throwing dark red and green with red flake seno's and was having really good luck. The black / purple. black / blue always does really well. I dont know what it is about dark colored but the fish love em. UNH def found the trick this time of year.

fireline braid / power pro
Ya I useto love the PP and definatly am a fan of braid over mono yet im getting digging on my pp so up for trying something new. Im not one of those guys who's brand specific and usually im the guy with anything I buy to have something no one has, something different. However that new tracer braid has really caught my eyes so thats my go to wherever I can find it that is.

Where did Loomis go?
The funny thing is all of these 300$ loomis rods and what not probably have such a high markup think about the cost of matirials that goes into a rod. Can't be more than maybe 60$ or so. Why wouldn't a company be able to manufacture a quality rod at high productions rates to sell them at a cheaper rate and probably have the same income ratio as loomis that sell fewer yet higher profit.
