  1. From what I am gathering they are still in the shallows. I also found that I was having better luck with lighter colored senko's yesterday. Not sure the color but its silver with black and silver flake. Once I switched from a dark pumpkin black to that I started getting a lot more bites. Hope this gives some kind of insight.
  2. I was speaking with one of the guys my buddy knows on the nashua river. Resident for 30 yrs and he was stating best time is august for fishing the nashua. July was horrible he stated. Nashua River and Mill Pond can be tough at times but theyre just so convienient that I cant stop trying my luck. Ive done ok at Mill Pond but the Nashua River has my number for sure. I like them both much better in April and May when the mill foil doesnt resemble a carpet.
  3. I def will. I am hoping a local shop around here has it in stock. I have my eyes on the tracer braid big time for the fact of visability of the line.
  4. I took someones advice about trying the mouth of the canal by the overhanging tree about a week ago and got skunked. Ill have to work it more and see what I can do. Mind you I am fishing from shore as well. The spot I like to fish from shore on mill pond is the other end about half way down the channel that leads to the nashua river. On another note went out with a friend on the nashua river last night. Absolutly nothing was biting. Once it got dark we were throwing top water. Tiny Torpedo (I was using) vs. jitterbug. 4-3, all little sunnies but hey it was fun competing haha.
  5. did you notice any difference in casting wise with the fireline from the powerpro?
  6. Advantages to switching... From powerpro to fireline braid. Im looking at the new high vis / low vis fireline. Looking primarily for less dig in factor which was already suggested but has anyone noticed smoother or longer casts?
  7. How is the tracer fireline braid?
  8. Thanks for all the replies. I will have to get over to who knows where to pick up some.
  9. Got out this afternoon to my spot and caught 4 total. All lm biggest was just shy of 3lb. All in all fun. I was using mainly motoroil color senko 5", suprisingly the 3lber I grabbed while skimming it across weed beds. the others were on just after it landed and were falling. I would say in the 4ft range depth wise. Nothing worth pictures tonight.
  10. I have been fishing braid for a while now and I notice with my new st croix mojo rod I am able to cast a heck of a lot further. However I notice my casts are stopping short because the braid is so tight or this maybe the digging in that people are talking about. I notice where its stopping short and pull 15yds or so out and real it back in but what is actually causing this. I am using a pinnacle solene reel with 50# pp. braid.
  11. I Cant see bass still spawning in southern new hampshire anyways. bass up in maine are probably a month behind due to the temp difference in probably 15-20 degree difference.
  12. unh - nice fish... def mill pond is a nice spot. nashua fisherman - pm replied.
  13. Nashua Fisherman where is this private pond located in hudson. PM me if you want. Just curious if its my little favorite spot ;D.... Someone was out at my spot and threw a bunch of wood, logs, boards to get accross the stream making a mess. Was def ticked when I saw that and didn't bother to pick them up afterwards. My thoughts always leave the outdoors the way you came upon it. To everyone whining about shore fishing common guys thats where practice and accuracy comes into play right. Makes you a better fisherman from in a boat after a while shore fishing. 8-)
  14. I have an ugly stick and I love it. It is cheap but has great sensitivity and is pretty strong. Im thinking of picking up another one with a bit heavier action. Right now I use a med/light because I love the feel of the fight. I have yet to try an ugly stick. I always considered them cheapy's as well. That quantim torsion seems pretty nice, although the rhino rod thats also 20$ was junk, replacement with the st croix.
  15. Im hoping so. Im upgrading from a quantim torsion which was like 20$ at wally world.
  16. I just went to wally world for 6$ and got a plano box that is perfect for all my plastics. Fits a ton of them and has a nice cary handle. I grab that and my small FLW gear bag that has 4x medium planos and 1 small double sided I use for terminal tackle. Messing with sealable bags thrown into a bigger bag is just unorganized to me.
  17. Well bit the bullet today on lunch and went over to petes and got myself some goodies. St Croix mojo bass bc 6'6" Mfast , 4.5" arkansas shiner Slugo's and 5" motoroil hvy rd flake GYM Senko's., slugo hooks as well as gamasako ? 3/0 wide gap hooks... just wanted to brag bc this is my first good rod. Wanted something with really good sensitivity as well as good feel, warrenty. what do you guys think, Gonna catch me a big o' bass...
  18. What color senko's are you having luck with. I am in need of buying more because I only have white left over Also what hooks are you using with your senko's ? If your looking for Senko type baits give * trick sticks a try. Great quality and sooo much cheaper then name brand. I say i fish "senkos" all the time but i really mean trick sticks. Caught my PB on them as well as hundreds of other fish in the last couple of years. Ill have to try them out. Anywhere local carry these? UNH- ya I have had a few that I have had to leave the hook in because they were way down in their throat. Hopefully they work them out and still live.

  20. I switched to braid on my baitcaster setups recently and absolutly love it. Im using powerpro 50#. I am using it for pretty much everything. I like how it doesn't matter how hung up I get I can always get my lure out. I also noticed it casts nicer than mono as well or seems to. Past few times out I have has my lure toss through some branches and get nasty birdsnest. Usually with mono I will just cut off the spool and re-string if needed however with 10$ braid I just unspool it through all the nasty by hand, takes a while but its worth the 15 or so min to not have to buy more braid.
  21. fishing was slow for me for a while myself. went about 2 weeks that it was like that, barly any bites. I actually just slowed down my presentation. They seem vry lathargic right now. Im using darker colored worms and senko's T-Rigged and a lot of times just deadsticking them. The one big fish I caught earlier was just deadsticking a purple powerbait twirl tail. Next time you go out try using worms and such and have really slow retrieves. couple turns let it sit, see if this will get some more action.
  22. Thanks. Glad to make it into the HAWG class finally haha. Ya its a private pond. Well if you get caught at there someone will kick you out. Its my work so I get a green light so to speak. You might be able to access it from the backside of the industrial park tho.
  23. Got out on lunch today and fished some of the lilly pads and weed beds and pulled out this monster. Still don't have a scale yet so hard to tell the size but it was bigger than my last PB. tail hung about 6" past my elbow so id say probably 24-25" some where and really fat.
  24. Im using powerpro 50# 12#eq. and I love it. Was using 8lb mono on one of my baitcasters but just switched that over as well. I think it casts a lot smoother and nicer than mono and the overall strength is unbelievable.
  25. When I have been fishing lilly pads latly I have 4" black slugo's which when hooked properly are weedless. I throw them boyond the lilly pads, on top or sides and let it hit the bottom. Almost all baits with small ripping action hits the lilly pads underneith and bounces back so they don't get stuck. You have to rip them 10" tip sweeps so to speak and let them fall again. This has got me really good success.
