I went to the website for Ethanol free gas but found no station that I was looking for my gas motor. I live Bowling Green and wondering where will my closest gas station may be? I haven't seen nothing near by on the site and wonder is there any in Caroline, Ashland, Fredericksburg, Port Royal, King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford area? Hopefully closer like in Caroline or even Fredericksburg. Thanks!

I went ahead and went with the 7.5 after I went and talk to the guy and heard it run. We have some restricted HP lakes here that's why I didn't want to go over 9.9, one of the lakes restrictions here. Your right about the weight of batteries and I'm working on that. I'm going to go out this week and see about what J Francho was mentioning about the 7 amp just for the finder. I'm hoping if weather stays good here in Va I might take the motor out on the river and see how it is on my boat.

Thank you Aluma-Bass!! Yea I went ahead and settle for 7.5hp 2 stroke engine Johnson from a guy in Goochland for $400. All I could find close enough in my search and that was just a little over an hour away. The guy had it set in this water fill drum for when I got there I can hear start and run. Foward and reverse both works. He gave me a metal six gallon tank but I will most likely replace that with plastic since last I knew metal was against the law at least what I was told years ago. He also was putting a pump line together but I told him I had that already and he was informing me that I should buy fuel filter to place on the line like he had on his. Man had motors everywhere that he's working on so he can get his look like 25' center console back on the bay for this year. He shown me his jon boat that he use the 7.5 hp for. The motor ran and sounded good. He recommend to try and find ethanol free gas especially if dealing with the metal tank.I'm hoping if weather stays like it is going into next week(haven't check) to hit the river and give the motor a try and see if can do a little fishing on the river. Still a few things I need to do before hand like get me an amp for my depth finder so I can eliminate a battery use and weight.

Cool I'm going to check into this J Francho, mudkart. The motor I'm looking at is this from Craiglist. The guy told me still have and will let me see and hear it run. 7.5hp Johnson Outboard Engine, 2-stroke. New water-pump, new various gaskets & seals. Carburetor recently rebuilt. What you mean be 7amp? Might look into that.

I like gold blade White/Chartreuse skirt. Also you might want to try this with the Cavitron or other buzzbaits.

Mine are only 12v but I was recommeded to parallel I think my bow mount trolling motor to two.Grundlelove- I run my depth finder on it's own battery. I make sure I have enough batteries to not die on the lakes I fish. I have died and had to paddle on several 400 acres lakes and that was enough for me but if you got the equipment we can party!! lol

I have a Tracker14 the one in my sig. and It's rated for 15 hp but wonder if like a 7.5 hp would be good? Usually carrying weight is me 180 4 batteries and maybe a friend or wife that range no heavier than me, maybe 400 to 550 in total weight? What size hp motor would you recommend? for some lakes like Briery is only 10hp so I will probably stay under that if can find one in my price range. I found a 7.5 johnson for $400 that's supposedly completely rebuilt and runs great and I'm still in trying to contact the owner to see if start it for me if go to buy it.

This is the map directions(hopefully) from the Bowling Green PizzaHut for Smoots and Whites. http://maps.google.c...mra=ls&t=h&z=12 It's off 301 in Bowlinggreen down 619(chase st) then left on Smoot's rd. or 640 (Wrightsville rd) and stay straight on rd which switches over to Smoots rd. But for Smoot's or even Whites lake down off Perimeter till stop sign then a left. You will need an AP Hill fishing permit $20 for the year and must go through a background check. Also for those lakes you must call ahead of time to see if the open to fish due to training. Smoots (if map works) is two parts upper and lower, you will see the two parts on the map the upper part you have to through base to get too. Hopefully this helps and the maps show it's wherabouts for you. I live on 619 (chase st). Yea I'm going to make sure to use those Spinnerbaits and Cavitron that is what I've been using for my buzzbaits along with a local maker S&W I think? This is my PB I caught last year on a Cavitron on 9/15 Looking to break it this year!!

Yea it's plum apple but everytime I'm at Green Top none in stock. Only place I find that color is at Dicks in Spotsy. My favorite color. Only color I used last year. I like catching Dicks 2 for $10 senko sale when they have their sales. My wife got me another buzzbait and some new Spinnerbaits so I'm going to be getting into those when the time calls for them. I got into Buzzbaits at the end of year and landing my PB on it so now I want to dedicate more time to them and Spinners. I think I fished once or twice with a spinnerbait and only landed one small bass. I do need to get my wife a spinning setup before bass fishing really kicks off so she can have a wacky or a finesse setup and I can turn her Extreme BC combo into a crank combo for shallow cranks for her. I'm hoping to do allot more fishing this year with her and try to turn into that morning fisher!! Clothes are always nice and how you like the books on tapes?

Yea I haven't been out since September and been wondering. I never bass fish in the winter or know what the first thing to do but maybe jig? The places I thought about is the ponds around my way but their shallow ponds. One of them range in the 12' in the middle of the pond but no structures I have yet found. one pond is pratically a lilie pond and the others are lilies and fallen trees around the pond edges but the lilies are gone for now........ Sam- My christmas was very good and pleasing. I got my wife her favorite Chai tea and german rock sugar and actually got her a dragonfly cast iron tea kettle for Christmas. She went and got me some nice jigs and a few fishing tackle that I'm pleased with from Green Top off one of the employees advice. Her and my son was very happy with this year so I'm glad. We got my son a Wii and a few games. Some movies and toys. For her I got her Under Armour sweater she wanted, a new purse, perfume and some clothing/ boots I let her pick out before Christmas but couldn't have till then. New Years wasn't bad, we went to her friends house and I let her drink and I drove us home. Actually I for the moment for now at least quit drinking. Everytime I get the erge I'll either will or have the wife make some hot tea and I drink that. Doing good too been over a month now. How was yours Sam?
