  1. I do the same thing with Zip-loc freezer bags(they're thicker). Once I use both ends of lets say, a senko, then I use them as wacky rigs. So I get 3 "uses" with each worm.
  2. Instead of stealing one, I bought one at Target for about $2.00
  3. I made a very simple improvement that made my Raider much easier to fish out of. The ole milk carton tip. Inside a milk carton, I zip tied 3 pieces of 1.25" PVC for 3 rod holders. Then I zip tied an old piece of plastic tube to hold my bug spray. The carton also holds my anchor and rope, small tackle box, and gloves(northern pike). If you use a net, another piece of 1.25" PVC would work great for that. Everything is within easy reach, and not taking up floor space. A bungie cord holds the milk carton from moving around.
  4. Thanks dman. Can you post a pic of your rudder when it's done?
  5. dman, did you turn the trolling motor head around? Do you like it better in front like that? Can it be done to any motor? I have the Minn Kota Endura 30 on my Raider. Thanks.
  6. Looks great. Why did you decide to incline the front, instead of a casting/flat deck with storage underneath?
  7. I use a 4-blade Comp Prop as my full time prop, and I like it. BUT my motor is only a 25 HP. My banged up metal one is my backup.
  8. I picked up some 3/8" from H.D. but they didn't have any 1/4". I read that 1/4" fits the Zoom trick worm. They had 3/16" and 3/8", but no 1/4".
  9. Thanks Dave. I think I saw this reel at Walmart a couple days ago. I'd rather buy it there if it's the same reel.
  10. A lot of time the fish(bass, pike, musky) are not actually missing the lure. They come up and purposely whack the lure, with no intention of "eating" it. There are a lot of theories why they do this. A friend of mine told me this, who is a fisheries biologist for the DNR. Musky are notorious for doing this, fishing surface baits after dark.
  11. Whether I use O-rings or tubing, how tight should they be on the worm? And do I buy the thinner or thicker O-ring? One was 1/16" and one was 3/32" thick. Thanks.
  12. Thanks, I'll check out the tubing at Home Depot. BUT, I thought the whole point of "using less worms" is because the hook doesn't go thru the worm(weakening it) when using the O-ring?
  13. Is 3/8" the inside diameter? If so, that sounds kind of fat. And do you run the hook thru the heat shrink or under the heat shrink? Thanks.
  14. Thanks guys. I was reading about the O-ring trick to use when wacky rigging, and had 2 questions. 1) Just how tight should the O-ring be on the worm? 2) At Home Depot I saw O-rings that were 1/16" thick, and others were thicker, 3/32" thick. Which should I use? Thanks.
  15. Can anyone recommend a cheap Ultra-light reel, for $25 or less? I do have a Gander Mountain store near me. Thanks.
  16. It does look like PT wood. The other concern I have is the use of 1X2's throughout. I don't think they're strong enough.
  17. When wacky rigging plastic worms(4"-6") what size and type of hook do you use? Are there any plastics (other than worms) that work well wacky style? Thanks.
  18. That's funny, I love that.
  19. Did you strap the boat down to the 2 X 4? If not, pick up 2 eye hooks, and put one on each end of the 2X4. Attach your strap and tighten it down. If it still wants to slide, put something non-slip on the 2X4.
  20. I agree. BUT of course, it's even better when I catch fish.
  21. What do you mean by "power loading"? Driving their boat onto the trailer?
  22. No one said what size hook for the 4" ringworm? And what about a thin worm like the Zoom Trick Worm? Thanks.
