Hook size vs. plastic size ?
What's the rule of thumb on choosing hook size? I just bought some Slurpies 4" ringworms, and was wondering what hook size I should use? And I've been using 2/0 for the typical 5" senko worm. Is that close? Thanks.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I'm talking about the red and black wires from the factory(that come out of the right, rear side). They apparently send power to the front trollong motor plug. I'll probably just tape them to the side of boat, because I'm not going to use a front trolling motor.

Thanks Sippi, it looks nice. The white rope tied to the handle is for your anchor? I was afraid the handle wouldn't be strong enough. What did you do with the 2 rear wires(to keep them out of the way)? I don't use a front trolling motor. Do you sit on that cushion when fishing? Thanks.

Has anyone used "Slurpies" plastic worms, etc?
I was at Gander Mountain today, and they had a bin of Slurpies plastics for $1.99 per package of 10. Are they decent? I bought a couple packages of 4" worms. Most of them were pretty wild colors with sparkles and flakes.

Do numerous large carp hurt the bass fishery ?
I'm still seeing these HUGE carp swimming in the shallows. They must have spawned already, correct?

got a kayak
They definitely are nice. My wife and kids use one. But my back won't allow me to do it.

Little things about your bass boat
A roll of toilet paper, just in case !!!

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Thanks Sippi. Would you agree that the plastic is not strong enough to use oars and oarlocks? It seems that they would have that as an option if possible.

Has anyone mounted rod holders or oarlocks on the Bass Raider? If so, how did you do it? Thanks.

Lightweight, one person boat for "carry-in lakes"
Canoes are too d**n tippy for me. And I have to stand sometimes to loosen up my back. Anyway, I bought a Pelican Bass Raider from Craigslist.

I had my weirdest fishing experience today !!
I was tossing a weedless frog in the slop, and as soon as it hit the water, I saw a swirl a few feet behind it. I thought it was a bass following it, but it turned out to be a big bullfrog. It followed it closely for about 10' then it jumped on it and engulfed the frog. Need less to say, I caught my first bullfrog(about 9") with a weedless frog.

I can dream, can't I? The real "Mayberry" is Mt. Airy, N.C. That's where Andy Griffith grew up.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Thanks. I'll have to take a closer look at the seat. I'm still trying to figure out a small cart to build.

Max wind you'll fish in..?
I hate fishing when it's too windy, but that's why someone invented anchors. It's almost impossible to fish a plastic worm without anchoring. When it's fairly windy, I tend to drift and cast.

Thanks wagn. You didn't use a dolly or cart with it? One lake I want to fish, the water is about 50 yards from the parking lot, and I need some sort of cart or dollly. I'm trying to figure out what I can build. Anyone?

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I just bought the 8' electric model yesterday, and I have a couple questions. 1) Is there any way to use an anchor with it? The 2 handles don't appear strong enough. 2) Can the standard seat be replaced with a different padded seat? 3) Is anyone able to post a pic of a dolly/cart that works with the Bass Raider? Thanks very much.

Gander Mountain Trick Sticks vs. Gary Yamamoto
The Yamamotas have more action, and are more flexible. The Gander's are more buoyant and sink much slower.

Drop shotters.....gather around!
So when drop-shotting the bait is never hooked Texas style? If not, why is that?

Lightweight, one person boat for "carry-in lakes"
Is anyone familiar with the Classic Accessories "Colorado" inflatable pontoon boat? Walmart.com has it for $338. Sorry, but I don't know how to post a link.

Lightweight, one person boat for "carry-in lakes"
Thanks Nick. That's a LOT more than I want to spend. This is going to be my "second" boat, for occasional use. How wide are these when inflated? Does anyone know of any cheaper ones that would be decent? About $300 or less?

Lightweight, one person boat for "carry-in lakes"
What type of boat do you guys recommend for someone with back problems, that wants to fish a couple lakes that are "carry-in only"? It must be lightweight and stable on the water, and easy on the back. The lake I would use it on most requires you to carry/move boat about 50 yards from the lot, down a path. We have an Otter kayak, but my body just can't take it. I was thinking of a one man pontoon(inflatable) but I don't know how durable they are, or the price for a decent one. Would it fit in the back of my mini-van if it was inflated? The van's floor is 48" wide. Or maybe a one-man plastic mini bass boat. Thanks for any advice.

Question about carpeting decks and floors
Thanks. So most guys don't wrap it under or tuck it in the sides? I didn't know that. Do you wait until the glue dries, and then do the final cutting?
