  1. I haven't caught one yet either, but did get out with a buddy January 3rd and he caught a nice bass on a jig. I plan to do some fishing this weekend. Temperatures in the 60s-70s all week!
  2. I am a senior in high school and my dad promised to take me on a fishing trip if i could help him get it planned out. He used to go fish at Truman and Barkley every year with his buddies until about 2003 and hasn't been on any real bass fishing trips since. So he was really nostalgic about Truman but I guess the fishing has gotten tough since he last went so that kind of eliminated that one. I then thought about Barkley and the more i thought, the more I wanted to fish Kentucky lake. So that is as far as I have gotten. I know that the trip will be to Kentucky lake in three weeks. So some pretty big questions are, where to stay? and who are some guides that i could get in touch with?
  3. I have a Mojo Bass and it is okay. Like others have said it is tip heavy, and I am sure there are better rods in its price range. I would get the Duckett Micro.
  4. Grosman 2006 16 Games 262 comp 480 att 54.6 pct 3193 yds 23 td 20 int 73.9 QBR Rushing--- 24 att 2 yds 0 td 8 fumb Okay so he was better in 2006 than he was in 2007, and his QBR is 1 point better than Tebows however you still got to aknowledge that Tebow finds a way to win, while Grossman finds a way to loose. Tebows teammates and fans believe in him, Every one doubted Grossman as was evident when he got benched in 2007. I would take tebow 100% of the time over Grossman. Hate Tebow all you want, but just because he isnt standard QB doesnt mean he is awful. Look at how the game is changing you got guys like Cam Newton, Mike Vick, and Tim Tebow, who show that being a good quarterback isn't just about throwing. Granted the experts and purists want the qb to be an elite passer, but truth is the game is going full circle the way football began when the qb was much more than just a drop back passer, and that to me is so cool.
  5. yeah my mistake I took the 2007-2008 season they went to the superbowl in 2006-2007 let me get those stats for you
  6. I guess we will find out sunday. I wouldnt overlook these Broncos, I think they will make things interesting.
  7. btw the discrepency in fumbles between my numbers and deaknh03 is that Tebow fumbled 6 times as a runner and 7 when getting stripped while throwing, I just looked at the ones he had as a runner... espn broke it down that way
  8. Grossman: Super Bowl Year Played 8 games Passing--- 225 attempts 122 completions 54.1 comp% 1,411 pass yds 176.4 pass yds per game 4 pass TD 7 Int 66.4 qb rating Rushing--- 14 attempts 27 yds 0 tds 2 fumbles Tebow: 2011 Started 11 games Passing--- 271 att 126 comp 46.5 comp% 1,729 pass yds 157.2 yds game 12 pass tds 6 int 72.9 qb rating Rushing--- 122 att 660 yds 6 tds 6 fumbles Lets look at the facts. Tebow threw more tds than ints, grosman can't say that. Tebow has a better QBR. Tebow is also effective at running the ball which adds another dimension to his game. Tebow 7-4 as a starter. It just comes down to the fact that Tebow is a winner. His ability to come back in games is not somthing unique to his NFL career. He did it in High school, College, and on the Pro level now. It is almost unexplainable but he changes teams, it seems like he brings the best out in all his team mates, and they also believe in him. Look at what Orton did with that team this year 1 - 4, tebow takes over the same team and they go 7 - 4 down the stretch!!!! Are you kidding me when he took over the Broncos had no hope at making the playoffs... How bout you tell me how many teams start 1-4 and make the playoffs. His stats may not be great but he is a winner plain and simple and that is somthing that is undeniable. Grossman on the otherhand found ways to loose games. Tebow is for real, they are in the playoffs. Tom Brady and the girls in New England better not overlook him and the broncos because it is do or die now, Tebow will turn up the intensity and we are going to see him bring his game to the next level... Super Bowl anyone???
  9. I would rather have a mojo than a shock... If you could spend up to $160 I would look at the Duckett Micro Magic rods, eihter the DFMM70MC (7' M) or the DFMM66M-C (6'6" M) maybe even the DFMM66MH-C (6'6" MH). I know they are alot more than the others you are asking about but I think they would work the best fro what you want. I mean the fact is you're probably not going to be fishing much until this spring so try to save up some extra money and buy a Duckett when you can spend $160.
  10. Hey the mojo is an okay rod, but take it from me for $100 you can get some much better rods. I bought the jig and worm model and I wish I had purchased a different rod. I really think that you should look at the veritas, I forgot to mention the falcon bucoo in my previous post, but really there are so many better options than a mojo. It is just not sensitive enough to fish contact baits like a jig and it is just tip heavy. I use mine for spinnerbaits, flukes, and rubber frogs.
  11. I have a mojo, it is built well but not very sensitive. For the same price you could get a veritas, a bps carbonlite, or a shimano compre, all much better options than the others you listed. Also before you get a mojo I would look at the St. Croix Triumph, it is the same blank and components but it is better balanced and just feels better also at a cheaper. Also for a bit more I would look at the St. Croix Premier it balances well and is made in the USA.
  12. This is the link to what is above http://espn.go.com/espn/page2/story/_/id/6937142/uni-watch-ponders-nike-future-nfl-jersey-design
  13. This is pretty old news in the football world (anounced over a year ago Nike would take over)... just to shed some info, those jerseys were all designed by fans not the teams or the NFL and many uniforms will most likely not look any different. You have to remember that the NFL is not just going to change every teams uniforms... Hate to burst peoples bubbles but this is a must read on the topic from ESPN "Looking Ahead to Next Season Many fans are taking it as a given -- some with dread, some with glee -- that Nike will give the NFL a wholesale makeover when it takes over the league's uniform contract in 2012. Speculations on what a Nike-fied NFL might look like, cooked up by some enterprising Photoshoppers, have been circulating for nearly a year now. Although the league and Nike confirmed that those designs are not legit, they still represent some people's worst fears (or fondest dreams, depending on whether you're an old-school or new-school kind of fan). Uni Watch's position is that all this fretting and fantasizing is largely moot, because the NFL is likely to look pretty much the same next year as it does now. Here's why: • It's a long way from the NCAA to the NFL. People's perceptions of Nike, whether positive or negative, are driven primarily by the company's college football uniform designs. But the NFL is very different from the NCAA. For one thing, colleges are using newfangled uni designs as recruiting tools to attract 17-year-olds and to sell merch to 20-year-olds. But the NFL doesn't need to recruit anyone (players play for the team that drafts them), and the league's consumer base is, on the whole, older and less trend-driven than the NCAA's. Also, many top colleges change their uniforms every season, while NFL teams aren't even allowed to change their uniforms more than once every five years, so there's a lot more design stability in the pro ranks. • It's the dog, not the tail: Nike (or any uniform company) can't just walk in and change everything on a whim. Nike, like any vendor, can only do what its clients agree to. And in this case the clients are NFL team owners, a bunch of very conservative businessmen who have enormous investments in their successful brands and who, in many cases, have owned their respective franchises for generations. These are not the kinds of guys who are going to put their teams into the Nike design centrifuge. Can you really see the Rooneys letting Nike give the Steelers a major face-lift? Or the Maras? Or the Hunts? No way. • Historical precedent. It's easy to forget this now, but Nike outfitted many NFL teams back in the 1990s, and the world kept right on spinning. Now, it's true that Nike came up with the Broncos' current look, which was revolutionary when it was introduced in 1997. But think about it: Nearly 15 years later, not a single other NFL team looks anything remotely like the Broncos, which just proves the point that most NFL franchises prefer to stick with tradition. Will a few teams come out with wacky designs next year? Yeah, probably. But there's nothing new about that. Most teams will still stick with what they've got. • Hints have already leaked. Jaguars equipment manager Drew Hampton recently posted a series of tweets about the Jags' 2012 uniforms. The gist: No design changes, just a few tweaks in the tailoring. That's gonna be the story for most NFL teams. • Potential new rules are a shot across the bow. Word came out over the summer that the NFL was considering new rules limiting alternate jerseys to non-prime games prior to Week 10, because the proliferation of alternate looks could "potentially compromise a club's national brand equity." Does that sound like a league that's planning to go bonkers with crazy uniform designs to you? If anything, it sounds like a pre-emptive move to ensure that Nike will have little effect on the league's look. Add it all up and you have a league that you'll have no trouble recognizing as the NFL in 2012. A few teams will no doubt go for a face-lift, and we'll hear the usual claims about space-age fabrics that are lighter, faster and so on (seriously, can the anti-gravity jersey be far behind?). But a large-scale redesign? Ain't gonna happen."
  14. Are you serious, the 200e is a "disappointment" on the Curado series??? Really. All I can ask is what are you smoking? A disappointment??? Ahhhhhhh i am freaking out right now! this is one of the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!!! I can never take anything you say seriously again... though I really never did
  15. The 200e is more like the Chronarch E that is out right now, they are not completely the same but similar. The Curado G has less bearings than the E and was made more affordable. It really doesn't matter what you buy, a CU201e7 CU201g or a Chronarch201e7, they are all Shimano and will all work well. The CU201e7 is the best bang for your buck though because you can probably find some nice deals where it is around $120.
  16. 201e is a little more versatile than the 51e, the 51e is perfect if you want to throw alot of things under 1/4oz
  17. I hope you get this fish, can't wait to see pictures!
  18. I got a new Crucial and put on a 200e that I got back in October but haven't fished yet.
  19. That's to bad, After reading this thread I was playing around with my Angler Series, it is the cheapest rod I own, but it balances better than anything else I have. I dont know anything about the tec specs but it is a shame they discontinued the Angler Series.
  20. I stopped using Stren when I was ten! As far as mono goes I feel comfortable with Trilene, as floro goes I am choosing Seaguar, and Power Pro is the go to for braid.
