This is something I am very interested in. I take my wife and daughter fishing a lot and am always looking for ways to fish minnows besides sitting in one place with a bobber. I have never really thought of tossing it out and slowly reeling it in. I am interested in the three way rig I hear roadwarrior talk about. Any way I cant wait to see what this thread brings.

I am gonna go on friday and look at the clarus. The bait shop has both the vendetta and clarus. But if I like the feel of the clarus. Im gonna get it because of the warranty. thanks for the input

Ok folks I am like many others, a budget fisherman. I need a medium heavy rod to use for worms and jigs. I would like something thats pretty sensitive cause the medium heavy I have now is not. It has the sensitivity of a broom stick. Anyway what are some good rods to look for? I am somewhat looking at the abu vendetta. Are there any other good choices. I live in nashville tn. So bass pro and academy are close. Has anyone used the h20 rods from academy. they feel good and the price is right but I have not fished one. Thanks for the help.

Yep I thought the shipping from japan should have been way more. Anyway like I said I've wasted 8 bucks. Hey I could easily throw 8 dollars worth of lures off the boat.

Well folks I probably have sucker written on my head but I have wasted 8 dollars on worse. What I am talking about is this reel I just bought on ebay. Its coming from japan so I dont know when I will get it but for 8 bucks with free shipping I just had to try. It looks like some of the older daiwa plastic reels. Heck they were made in japan too so it could be a copy of some kind. Can someone fishing Old Hickory lake in Hendersonville Tn give me a few pointers. I am just really starting to fish since fishing with my dad about ten years ago. I was doing decent in the spring but the last several times I have been out folks I cant even buy a bite. One of my big problems is I really only fish about 3-4 hours a week so I dont get to really get a good pattern going so I have you just go with my gut and boy has it been wrong lately. Anyway I live closer to the lower end of the lake but would drive just about anywhere or put in close and run my boat up to a good spot. I don't tournament fish I just fish mainly for my sanity and to relieve some stress. Any way any advice on location and technique would be very helpful. Thanks

Does anyone fish here fish Old Hickory lake for small mouth? I have fished below the dam down the river but thats hard to do by myself below the dam because of the current. So my question is just about the lake itself. Have you found any hotspots. I have mainly always LM fished but I really have an interest in smallmouth fishing. I know with the temps coming down that bite should be heating up. Also even if your not familiar with old hickory lake in TN any pointers on switching from largemouth to smallmouth would be great. O.K. while it took me looking at several different pictures and doing some research. Drum roll please.... the winner is green sunfish. Thanks for your help. I had seen those and some of the pics just didnt match up but the more i looked it for sure is.

I have looked through the TN state fish website and I can't find anything that looks like it. Thanks though.

Today I was panfishing, and caught a few fish that I can't identify. I didn't have a camera handy, but will next time. I have caught this same type of fish before. The fish in question was small, about 3 inches or so. I have never caught any that look like it bigger. It had a big mouth. Spot on dorsal fin and tail fin. Body was long and it was brown with a purplish tint. Anyone have any ideas? I have looked through pictures and pictures and can't seem to find it. Thanks!
