RoadWarrior I need some help with my game plan.
Ok I have been drifting down the Cumberland river here in Nashville attemting to catch smallies. I have caught some. Caught a lot of Kentuckies. I am trying to put together a plan so I can be most effective while I am there. Now I realize that I need good current flow coming through the dam and lately thats not been the case. But my question is what lures should I focus on. I know where some structure is. The channel drop off is well defined in places. There are lots of big rocks and rip rap. I have also set my minnow trap and found very good shiners. So with all that said any help would be appreciated. I also have plenty of tackle and am not afraid to buy something if it would help me catch those darn fish. Oh and saturday when we were out the water temp was 58 degrees.

11/13 - Erie With "No Good"
We had a good day on Dale Hollow yesterday too. We did not have the numbers but my wife picked up one great fish. It was also 5 lbs 12 oz. It was an absolute hog. I will be adding pics later.

Dale hollow this weekend? Nov. 13-14
Well the title pretty well sums it up. We are staying at Cedar Hill resort. We are gonna do some crappie fishing up around first island. Any tips or hints? how are things going on the lake? Gonna target a few smallies to while we are there.

Barren river info?
I am gonna be staying at Barren river state park in KY this weekend. I would appreciate any help on fishing the lake. Tips about what the fish are hitting or maybe some good spots. I will be in my boat so I can get around pretty easy. Thanks

batteries!
If your gonna use two batteries on the starting engine why not just hook them parallel to one another. Then you will have twice the battery power but no need to involve switches and things. Just dont hook them in a series. Make sure to hook +to+ and neg.-neg. That would simplify things.

falling in love with the t-rigged grub
On a more serious note from my other post I have been hitting them hard with a 5" fat albert grub from Zoom. I been using it on a picasso or owner shakey head jig. I love 1/16 oz for about 8' or less of water then I go to 1/8oz.

falling in love with the t-rigged grub
No. you cant catch fish on those baits. This thread should be locked. :

Cheatham Lake Tn
Anyone on here fish this lake? I live very close but it has historically been a very difficult lake to fish. They mess with the current alot at the dams above and below the lake and it seems like the current can instantly change your day. Anyway looking for pointers. Thanks

rod comparisons
you just cannot go wrong with a clarus. The warranty does it for me.

What tools/supplies do you keep on your boat for emergencies??
I have pretty simple hand tools on board. Wrenches, pliers, etc. But I tell ya what I do have, last year one time I NEEDED my bilge pump and it was not working. Well I made it out of that situation but once I got home I got my bilge pump working. I had a broken wire. But I also went and bought a cheap bilge pump put two batter clips on it and a short hose. Now if for some reason my built in pump does not work. I have a back up.

Picked up a cool little reel today...
I passed by a guy on the side of the road selling some fishing stuff and picked up a cool reel. Its a ryobi mag v 4. Took it to a local pond tonight and caught 3 dinks on it. I have to say its a great reel. It needs a good cleaning and oiling but it works great. Its smooth and will cast a mile. Anyway kinda excited. Plus I got it cheap which always helps.

Trying to gain confidence in a Rattle trap style bait
I don't think you can throw a rattle trap wrong. You can cast it and retrieve it. You can throw it in grass and rip it loose. You can throw it in wood and bounce it off. It will come through a lot of stuff you think it can't, My dad will fish one everyday of the year some. Try different retrieves slow, fast, yo yo it. Don't get stuck on one thing keep mixing it up.

What to do with a V-Hull
Probably not possible and well I honestly know nothing about your boat but... Is there anyway to add pontoon type outriggers like seen on some canoe's. Like I said I really know nothing but I just had that mental image come in my head. Any way sorry for wasting your time.

decisions on ultralight set up
Well its not listed but the Daiwa Tournament SS series would be the last reel you would have to worry about buying. The 700 size in particular. They are awesome bullet proof reels. Great drags in case you hook a big un. They are just great solid reels.

Used Shimano Clarus 6'6" MH baitcast rod, how much should I pay for it??
IMHO I had rather give $40 for a used Clarus than any new $40 dollar rod. I am a fisherman on a budget. I got a Clarus towards the end of last season for jigs n things. I love it. If its in that good shape its worth the bucks.

1990 16 ft. Pro-Craft Bass Boat
I have a 17'6 procraft. Its an '89 model. I would not try to fish 4 adults. Especially bass fishing. You might could crappie fish. It would still be tight and you would have to have people that were very aware of thier surroundings. I have bass fished three people but its really tight. My dad has a 21' stratos and I would not recommend four people try to fish on that if they are casting a lot. Anyway just my opinion. It also goes back to who the four people are. That alone can make a big difference.

Fishing tools
Jigman that looks handy as a shirt pocket. My dad has a similar something he bought somewhere a long time ago. But I like yours. Maybe I need to get a few scraps of vinyl.

Shimano Chromica B anyone??
While I am not really in need of a reel does anyone own one of these? I mean its Shimano right. I am a huge fan of there stuff. Its priced right for a weekend warrior like me. Its got centrifugal breaking that I have not really seen in reels in that price range. Anyway just wondering.

Kayak ??
Does anyone know anything about crescent kayaks. I seen them today at the boat show in Nashville Tn. They look pretty good and the price I though was fair. Anyway just looking for info.

Spoonbill Fishing
Probably not the answer you want but... your probably going to be snatching in a tail water so. If all else fails go down there and look at what the other guys are using. That would be a simple way.
