Yes you eat the meat on a spoonbill, it is very good. I can see your point on thinking it is not sporting to snag a fish. But it look's like it would be alot of fun. I love to bowfish to and I no some think that is not sporting but it is a hoot!

Can anyone tell me how to rig up the hook and sinker for spoonbill snagging? Where can I go to find info on spoonbill fishing. I have not had any luck finding info on the internet. Any info will be nice. Thank's

I bought a reel of a guy on here, he spooled it with Yo suri line 12 lbs. It is one of the best lines I have tried for awhile. I love it.

I don't worry about the water temp. I let the fish tell me when to top water fish. When I notice them up top or shallow chasing stuff, I will put something top water on and hammer them. Be careful alot of times when stuff is smacking the top it is bluegill. Good luck.

When they are starting to come to the top to jump. I stick my rod tip down in the water as far as I can and reel, keeping the line tight. It seem's to keep them from jumping for me. Good luck.

Johnson Silver Minnow with a white curly tail grub. You will get alot of tail hit's from bluegill's, but I have caught alot of big bass with this in pond's.

I was looking at a Quantum Code reel. Does anyone have one and are they any good? I see Cabelas has them and a Tourney trail rod for $79.99. Wal-Mart has the reel alone for $110.00.

I have been a spinning reel fishermen all my life. I have tried a few different baitcaster's. But I cannot find one I can cast very easy. Does anyone have any ideas on a good one, that I dont have to throw my arm out of socket to get it to go out very far? Also I would like to stay around $100.00 to $150.00. I was thinking maybe a Abu Garcia Revo-s or a Quantum KVD. Any ideas will help. Thank's.
