It probably fall under they use what they need to get the job done and if ike knows hows a light and tuff rod feels with a certin lure then he is going to use it . with that as busy as he is and with the need to do well in every tournament maybe he hasn't had time to get used to his rods . I remember talking to rick clunn at the empire chase event in new york and he said he still uses mono on his rods because he knows what it will take how it casts and how much stretch he is going to get on a hook set i think it all comes down to comfort and with comfort comes the confidence they need to win tournaments . I don't think ike or kvd or any other pro is out to pull one over on everyday anglers with their signature series rods . Just because they don't use it doesn't mean its a piece of junk . JUST MY THOUGHTS

Thats definitely a nice reel,but my vote is still with the daiwa steez . Sorry ....But that reel dose look just like the steez.

IN RESPONCE TO THE REPLY WITH 45 TO 50 RODS CAN USE THEM MUCH ...I FISH EVERY DAY SEVEN DAYS A WEEK MORNING AND NIGHT .AND A LOT OF DAYS IM OUT ALL DAY SO YEA I HAVE USED THEM A LOT .

I KNO WHAT EVERYONE IS THINKING NOT THIS AGAIN . BUT IN THE WAKE OF THE BOYD DUCKETT DROPING THE E21 CARROT STIX SPONCERSHIP QUOTING BAD MANUFACTURING ON THE PART OF E21 AND DIDNT WANT TO HAVE HIS NAME ON A PRODUCT WITH THOSE ISSUES. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS I HAVE HAD E21 RODS AS A SPONCER FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF NOW AND I HAVE 45 TO 50 CARROT STIX AND I HAVE NOT BROKEN ANY OF THEM I DO NOTICE THAT THE ACTION IS DIFFRENT BETWEEN THE 149.00 ROD AND THE 250.00 RODS DONT ASK ME WHY . BUT THEY ARE . I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS WHIT THEM AND TO BE HONEST THE ONLY REASON I TOOK THEM ON AS A SPONCER THAT EARLY IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT IS I USE THE AS A TOOL TO PERMOTE MY OTHER SPONCERS . EVERYONE NOTICES THE BRIGHT ORANGE RODS .THE NEXT THING THEY SEE IS WHAT LURE I HAVE ON I TELL THEM WHAT IT IS AND WHERE TO GET ONE .. I CAN KILL TO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE . SO WEATHER YOU LOVE THEM OR HATE THEM YOU CANT DENIE THAT THEY CAN BE USED AS A TOOL . NOT ONLY TO CATCH FISH BUT TO PERMOTE .

I WAS NOT DEPRIVED AS A CHILD I JUST WANT A ROD AND REEL FOR EACH LURE AND SOMETIMES THREE OR FOR FOR EACH LURE OF DIFFRENT COLLORS OR I RUN THREE RODS WITH THE SAME CRANKBAIT ON THEM EACH IN DIFFRENT DEPTH . SPINNERBAITS IN DIFFRENT WEIGHTS FOR EACH DEPTH . EACH MIN I SPEND SEARCHING FOR BAITS AND RE TIEING IS A MIN THAT MY LURE ISNT IN THE WATER AND IM NOT ABLE TO CATCH A FISH. IN A TOURNEY THAT GET IMPORTANT IM SURE I DONT HAVE TO TELL YOU GYES THAT . FOR THE GYES THAAT CANT AFFORD THAT MANY RODS AND REELS I WOULD SUGGEST SAVING YOUR MONEY AND GET AS MANY AS YOU CAN IM SURE EVERYONE WILL AGREE THE TIME YOU SAVE I WORTH THE 500 DOLLARSIS PRITTY CHEEP FOR A NEW ROD TO SAVE YOU TIME

i have a 2009 legend 21 ft tournament rig ,a 2009 legend 21ft for personal fishing and a 2008 legend to take gyes for rides. i have all stuff for each boat including tackle there sponcered so easy for me to do that .but i used to switch stuff but always seem to forget somthing do your self a favor and get stuff for each boat

I would drive myself crazy i think if i didn't have a rod and reel gor each lure ..i mean i get so bad to have three rods for each lure in three diffrent colors . granted i'm sponcered so the rods and reels come free but even to fish for fun i have to tske a bunch of rods and reels with me
