  1. Howdy to a fellow texan, welcome! 8-)
  2. This is the same question I've been thinking in my head for a while now. lol They are both great reels but they have ups and downs. The premier is equipped with better bearings, slightly larger handle, much lighter, and claims to be smoother than stx. The downside to the premier is its graphite non cranking side cover, 12lb drag, and less bearings than stx. However, I had stx for couple of weeks and i loved it until Abu released redesigned revo lineups during ICAST '09 show, so i returned it. Since you ordered 1 of each, why don't you wait until upgraded/redesigned 2010 revo stx & the premier? Should be coming out in a couple of weeks.
  3. I will say Cabela's all the way, if I had to choose b/w the two. 1. Cabela's is much closer to me; 20 mins. vs. 1hr.50mins. 2. Cabela's prices seemed cheaper than BPS. 3. Cabela's great CS has won my vote.
  4. Try Spiderwire ultracast Invisibraid, which has white-ish braided line for great visibility & also claiming near invisibility under water.
  5. Welcome aboard. 8-)
  6. Howdy & welcome!
  7. Abu garcia's black/silver max reels are pretty good under $50, which is good for the beginners.
  8. This is one of the main reason I try to stay away from ebay. I've been looking for new revos on ebay lately. (PM me about this seller's ebay ID so that I know whom to watch out for)
  9. I have 2 xml casting rods and they are treating me good so far. As grimlin mentioned, call them and see what they can offer.
  10. Thanks guys! I've seen a few premiers on ebay for $175 but it's left hand model, and the price being listed is kinda suspicious, $100 less than the retail for new. :-? Besides, Cabela's are expecting to get their shipment in anytime soon according to the customer reps, but it's been a while since being said.. The worst part is WAITING.
  11. Does anybody know where I can find one of these, except from ebay? I don't trust ebay too much unless I'm dealing with cheap stuff. 8-)
  12. Welcome Aboard!

    Welcome!
  15. Set the mag. brake to half (middle) way & tightening spool tension will reduce backlashes, experienced same issue w/ black max reel using 30lb power pro. 8-)
  16. I would recommend some watermelon candy red color worms & some black color worms from your local tackle shop. I have more luck with Zoom's Trick worms (long ones), Gary Yamamoto's 5" senkos and Berkley's Power worms. Hopefully these will work for you too & good luck!
  17. SKT for $190, this is hella deal! I wish I can find one at that price... lol
  18. It really is a fine reel, very smooth and easy to cast light lures.
  19. Thank yall! 8-)
  20. SKT a is good reel but I'll be waiting for the upgraded revo premier... 8-)
  21. I've been looking into Revo SKT, as well as the Premier reel. So far, SKT looks good on paper. I wonder how long it has been out in the market? (maybe since ICAST '08?)
