Dark colors with alot of noise an smell if you got it. Like bigtimfish said, JJ's Magic is a good choice.

poppers an any kind of insect imitator for bass...work'em jus like an other topwater like everybody before me said, use the wooly bugger an nymphs for smallies an bluegill. the heavier weight the rod is, the heavier flies you can throw.

the articles on BR are the only reason I know anything at all about fishing. I print alot of stuff off an highlight the most important stuff an keep it in a 3 ring binder. Works for me!
