  1. Me and clr9933 went out on the Merrimack today a little before 6 am and caught some nice smallies on everything from soft plastic flukes, to Zara spooks, to rage tail roosters. Here were two of the better ones.
  2. Thanks, I went from shore at Beaver Meadow Pond in Concord. Its behind the golf course.
  3. Nice smallies Shane. I went out for a little bit today at a pond in Concord and got 1 largemouth on a power worm. Thats my first fish of the year that wasn't from the power plant. The season has begun!
  4. Hey guys, im moving to Boston this fall and was wondering if anyone knows of any good bass lakes where you can either fish them from shore or rent boats at. Looking for places within half an hour of the city preferably. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions they don't mind sharing.
  5. Me and clr9933 went out on the Merrimack this afternoon and I ended up with a 3 pound smallmouth on a sexy swimmer swimbait by Strike King. I feel like it is getting a little bit tougher to get solid fish out of there now because they have seen literally thousands of lures in the past 2 months. I can't wait for the ponds and lakes to warm up so I can fish where the bass haven't been getting hit in the head with lures all winter!
  6. Try typing in Stumpfield Road, Contoocook NH 03229 in your GPS
  7. Me and clr9933 will be there, most likley in our jon boat.
  8. haha Shane, it seems as though you are always "at it" when it comes to crushing every bass at the power plant. Me and clr9933 went on Sunday afternoon and each got a decent smallmouth and lost a couple on white/silver crankbaits and soft swimbaits.
  9. Went out on the Merrimack today with clr9933 and even though they were pulling water we didnt do so well. I lost good smallie on a popper and clr9933 got one on a jig. Ill be there tomorrow morning to try again
  10. I posted this link on the other thread but it didn't work after the first day. It is a bunch of the bass me and clr9933 got in 2010. Hopefully it makes everyone even more excited for ice out.
  11. Nice fish shane. I see myself in the background on one of those pictures. Me and clr9933 had a rough morning on the water and didnt land anything in the short amount of time we were there.
  12. wow, sounds like a great day out there for everyone. Did you catch that one in the second picture out in the maine river instead of the normal spot directly at the outflow?
  13. Thanks Shane. I can see the stacks from the end of my street so thats actually really helpfull. It stinks to get the boat all the way up the river to find out they arent pulling.
  14. We struck out today in about 2 hours on the river. Not a bite. The other boat that we saw out there didnt catch anything either. Shane, do you know of a way to see if they are pulling water other than just going all the way out on the river?
  15. I plan on being out there on Sunday with clr8899 as well.
  16. WOW Shane, that is a trophy smallmouth for New England! The biggest smallie I got out of there this winter was only around 2 pounds, but its good to know there are some monsters in there
  17. After our first sucessful trip to the powerplant on the merrimack, me and clr9933 have tried 3 more times and have not gotten a single bite. There was very little current the past few times and the water was real cold.
  18. I didnt post any pictures this year on the forum, but here is a slideshow of all of the 3 pound or larger bass that me and clr9933 caught in 2010. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmgN1wr1FbM
  19. haha, you beat me too it then. I thought that was crazy getting them to hit topwater in these temps.
  20. Shane, We did pretty well today on the river. clr9933 got a 2 pound smallmouth and a little largemouth both on a bitsy bug jig with a trailer. I got a 2.5 pound smallie on a jig with ragecraw trailer and even got just under a two pounder while "walking the dog" with a topwater. I bet I am the first person in NH to catch a topwater bass in 2011! There was a decent current today and despite our lines freezing and our reels getting all icy, it was a good trip.
  21. Hey troutguy, the powerplant we are talking about is in Bow on the Merrimack River. I believe it is legal to fish there. Unfortinately there is nowhere to shore fish around it because the shore is all fenced off.
  22. Hey Shane, Is the parking lot downriver of the powerplant usually plowed or do you have to drag your boat through the snow and park on the street? Im probablly going to take my jon boat down there real soon.
  23. I know your "name that spot" Shane. Its only a mile or so from my house. I plan on trying it this winter a few times. Ive been told to use live shinners there in the winter. Do you still go with artificials over the winter time when fishing that spot?
  24. WOW SAUCY! That is a monster day for that lake. I havent had great luck there, but I have been doing really well after these hot days on the top water frogs latley tho.
