  1. WOW Mainebass! What depth were you catching these at?
  2. Mainebass....your a machine!
  3. My 2 biggest largemouth have been out of small ponds that dont get much pressure at all for bass. Bing maps is also a good tool to use along with google maps for finding spots if an area doesnt come up clear on google maps.
  4. You are probably right then. I thought one of the signs near the pump house said no fishing, but I am not sure of that. There are broken senkos in the water every 10 feet, so the place clearly gets some solid fishing pressure. If you do fish it, let me know how you do.
  5. How is the water & bottom at Onway? Is it clear water/sandy bottom?
  6. It is the Hooksett water supply and is illegal to fish, swim, or boat in unfortinately. I have "seen" average sized largemouth and smallmouth there, but nothing over 2.5 pounds.
  7. I went for a walk around Pinnacle Pond in Hooksett this week and found a complete rod & reel set up sitting in the woods with no one around. If you know anyone who lost one there this week, send me a PM with what kind of rod and reel it was, and I can set up a time to get it back to whoever lost it.
  8. Hey guys, I posted it on another forum last week and got no responses, but has anyone ever been to Namaske Lake in Goffstown? Its where the Piscataquog River is damned up and is about 150 (+ or -) acres. Can anyone tell me approximate max depth, fishing, and how bad the milfoil problem is? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Has anyone fished Namaske Lake in Goffstown? Are there good smallmouth or largemouth there, and is there still a bad milfoil problem?
  10. Wow, you have been killing them the past few weeks! Have you caught all these big ones on their beds?
  11. Wow BWillis, thats a great day at Crooked!
  12. I am going to gate 31 at the Quabbin on Monday and plan on renting a boat for the day. Has anyone fished it yet this season? Any smallmouth activity yet? What are the chances that I get a boat on a Monday morning if I show up at 6 a.m.? Thanks in advance.
  13. I use a 1/2 ounce black spinnerbait with dual colorado blades. I only throw it if there is enough wind to make some solid ripples on top of the water or if it is dark out. In cooler water I use a straight retreive at a slow-medium rate, but will speed it up and twitch it more as the water warms up to trigger fish that are just following it in. Trailer hooks are a MUST with spinnerbait as well. Hope that helps.
  14. All the wind this week has made the spinnerbait bite pretty good. Ive done well the last 4 days in a row, but everything ive been getting is between 2-3 pounds. Anyone else having better luck with 3+ pounders?
  15. I got out yesterday in Medford, Mass and got 5 bass and 2 pickerel. The largest was 2 pounds 10 ounces. All came on a black/red spinnerbait thrown in shallow, windy coves.
  16. I have been told that there are no bass in Clough now. There used to be and it hurt the trout fishery, so they "reclaimed" it by getting rid of all the fish in the lake, then restocking it with trout. The other trout pond you are thinking of has bass in it though.
  17. Congrats the 4-5 pounder Bucketmouth-fishin. Are you using a spinning rod when fishing these jigs? If so, that is why you are having such a low hook-up ratio. A baitcasting reel with a 7 foot medium/heavy action rod with florocarbon line will let you land far more of the jig bites that you are getting.
  18. Good work Nev! Thats awesome. Me and clr9933 carried our jon boat out to beaver meadow pond on Concord yesterday and ended up getting a few nice largemouth. His largest was 3-4 and my largest was 2-12. Despite trying lipless crankbaits, rage craws, and jigs with trailers, we ended up getting all the bass on spinnerbaits. Not what I would expect for water in the high 30's, but it was great to get my first bass of 2013.
  19. Hey Nev, Ive seen pictures online of people cathing decent walleye out of the Merrimack in Manchester and Bedford around the Goffs Falls Park area of the river. Let me know if you end up trying it out this spring.
  20. Went in Medford Mass today with my roomate. I got 2 pickerel on a rage craw and he caught a 2 pound 15 ounce largemouth on a lipless crankbait. Cant wait until all the NH lakes are opened up.
  21. Highlights of bassin in Southern NH in 2011 for me and CLR9933. The last 2 weigh 6 pounds-11 ounces and 6 pounds-13 ounces. Watching it gets me fired up to go fish right now!
  22. Has anybody caught a bass ice fishing and soft water fishing in the same day? On wednesday I may ice fish in the Concord area in the morning, then head down to northern Mass in the afternoon to see if I can get a bass from one of the open lakes there.
  23. I fish until mid-November as well. January-March I icefish for bass sometimes, but I feel there is a much higher chance that the fish die when you catch them ice fishing. I am planning on going out on the ice on Friday in the Concord area. I will post my results.
