Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
Hey nhbassin, I was out on that lake this past weekend. First time I fished it. The State Park side has a lot of deep clear water/rocks. You'll find a lot of SMB's over there. Hit the markers (rock piles) for suspending SMBs (Red rapala yo yo effect). I pulled them out of 8 - 12 ft of water. For the LMBs go to the shallow areas. I fished a lot of downed timber and there are some big fish hiding up behind the logs and brush piles. (Jig n Pig) I assume you'll be dropping your rig in at the boat ramp? I didn't get that far because I dragged my jonboat in at my campsite, but I did find a lot of tiny bass and a few 2-3 lbers (KVD square bill, orange Craw color) as I started to head over that way. The water temps started on Friday in the mid to high 50's and by Sunday it was from 59 - 63 at the end of the day. They weren't going after any senkos, drop shots, or grubs. The boat ramp side I heard is your best bet for LMBs. But there are downed timber all over the lake. The crappie are spawning and I don't think the bass are yet.

Got out today for the first time in the jonboat. It's nice to have that depth/fish finder back to see the water temp and how deep the fish are gathering at. A few bass, a lot of pickeral, couple crappie, and a lot of perch.

I've had about 50 LMBs so far. Been ripping them it out with KVD 2.5's and 1.5's. Natural colors and rattles work great. Also the Sexy Ghost Minnow or Shad. Retrieve slow, pauses. jerk. I was out today and I had the Jonboat in and the water was 59-61 all over Russell Millpond, so the water is plenty warm for the Bass right now. I'm also located right next to Lowell in Billerica, Ma. Been catching all sizes from under a 1lb up over 4.5lbs. Also a pig n jig or just a senko, texas rigged or wacky rigged. You can find the KVD series at Walmart in Lowell or drive all the way to Hookset, NH at the Bass Pro and they have a much larger selection of the KVD series. Try them out, you won't be disappointed.

Massachusetts Sucks...or Is It Like This Everywhere....
You could just say it's home made. ask your insurance company to make up a slip and say the trailer is homemade and it cost you 100 or so to make it. Take the form to the DMV and you should be all set. Bingo Bango...

I tried the Concord River today and not even a bite. I tried slow rolling a spinner bait, KVD 2.5 sexy ghost minnow, senko, and pig n jig. Nothing so I headed to Winning Pond and killed it on a KVD 2.5 sexy ghost minnow. Thanks TC235 Caught about 10 LMB and had 3 more LMB's got off. The biggest weighing in just under 3 lbs. I had about 2 more around that size and the rest being about 1.5 lbs and a few at under a pound. The biggest one of the day

Growing up in Newburyport I always fished for stripers. I found clams and whole herring worked the best. I always had the best of luck during outgoing tide in the rivers. I mainly fished in the Merrimac on the flats or the mouth, parker river by the ipswich yacht club, or off of Cranes beach in Ipswich. But like I said outgoing tide always produced more fish because the bass were coming in to eat the baitfish as they are swept out with the current and the temperature of the water would raise 10+ degrees from the warm rivers! For blues I look for bait fish jumping, usually a good sign they are there. Steel liters are a must because of their teeth. And I've caught blues on Rapalas trolling near or through the baitfish jumping. And once you've hooked one, hang on for a hell of a battle.
