  1. I've been doing so good, but when it rains...... At least there aren't any reels there........yet!
  2. Met up with Jim and family last night for dinner, and to deliver Lumberjack Barbie. We also exchanged some beers and baits. Among the baits were the spinbaits to be used on this rod. It put me in the mood to get back to work on it. Turned the grip and glued it up this morning.
  3. I call my shop the dungeon too!
  4. Mods. Check out my thread in the rod building section. The mods are pretty well documented.
  5. Life is too short to fish with ugly equipment. I plan rods around reels I have and buy reels to match rods I plan to build.
  6. I've used them on a few builds. The rubber isn't all that sticky, so I doubt it will grab. The ID of them is 20mm. I'd cut the rod abut a half inch shorter than the desired length and sand the cork down to match the 20mm of the butt cap. Add some adhesive and you're good to go. BTW, they weigh about 1.25oz, so it'll help balance too.
  7. Looks good except the reel handles are on the wrong side!
  8. It's gonna be fished in all open water. Not much of anything to snag it on where I plan to use it in Erie.
  9. Buddy sent me the artwork for the decal. I don't put my name on personal rods, but he personalized it for me with the border collie.
  10. I really thought this would be a post with pix of the rod wrap applied already! Thanks again for the Vision 110+1. Can't wait to throw it!!
  11. Tag length. ......dictated by the fish. Anywhere from 6" or even less at times up to 4'.
  12. I use a uni-uni. It ticks through 3.5mm Sic and 4mm Alconites just fine.
  13. I start the day with 18'. usually have 12' or so by the end of the day unless they're really biting or I pop a lot of weights and hooks on the rocks. Then I'll have 6' or so left.
  14. I currently run 10# braid with 6# leader.
  15. The GUY that ordered this rod is FAR from a Jill. I think Chuck Norris would be afraid of Jim's beard!
  16. Last update on this one til I get the decals. When they come in, I'll have to repossess the rod and apply them!
  17. I don't think there are any benefits to the microwave casting set. This is,the first set I've used. We shall see.
  18. I just checked, I picked up my case on April 11th last year. Hoping for a call tomorrow or Friday!
  19. 2 goals. 1. Become familiar with spybaiting. 2. Catch a 7# smallie.
  20. It's a tiger
  21. Waiting for a call. Its not in PA yet. I scored a case last year.
  22. Since I can't do anything to these grips while the other rod is on the drier, here's a pic of them now that they're out of the clamps. (with a little beer porn background for the beer geeks among you).
  23. That is a RodGeeks neon pink 7'3" Medium/Moderate. Any model of blank they make can be painted in that color. Check out the Project Lumberjack Barbie thread and you'll see it being built.
