Broken Bolt
I appreciate all the help and replies. Fortunately, my "inner genius" woke up this morning and realized that there are no threads in the fuel pump itself, so I took the top bolt off, slid the pump off, and sprayed some PB Blaster on the bolt piece that was stuck in (because it was tight and wasn't moving) and within minutes I was able to just twist it out with a pair of pliers. New bolt installed and no fuel leaking. Good as new.

Broken Bolt
It's a pretty good sized bolt. I want to say it's 5/16" but I can't remember off the top of my head without going out and measuring. From what I can tell it's tight. It's nothing but threads that are broken off and stuck. I will see what I can do about the epoxy and rod tomorrow afternoon.

Broken Bolt
Just went out and checked and realized since the broken bolt is the one on the bottom of the fuel pump, the drill won't fit down in there to use something like that.

Broken Bolt
Hey guys, I seem to be in quite a predicament. I took my fuel pump out because my fuel line interior was old and had deteriorated so I had to clean all the chunks and pieces out of the pump. When I was reinstalling the pump, as I was tightening down the bolts, one of the bolts snapped right in half in the middle of the hole in the fuel pump. Because of this, there seems to be a little fuel leaking from the area. What can I do? How do I get the broken bolt out to try to put a new one in? The head part just slides right out. It broke just below the threads, so the majority of the threaded part is the part stuck. Should I get one of those screw/bolt remover drill bits? Thanks, Stephen

Bad Word
I think it probably started in the gaming world. I've been a gamer most of my life, it's become normal to see it used pretty much. You can't play an online game these days without being called a noob in some way. It's like every other sentence contains the word. And you forgot the traditional gamer spelling (or leet-speak) n00b or also nub.

Keowee Spotted Bass
Went out today since the wind and rain are gone for the most part. Only got bit twice. Once on a drop shot in 60 ft water under a bridge (set the hook too early) and the other in 2 ft of water between a dock and a stump. I caught a solid 2 lb 6 oz female spotted bass at the latter spot. Water temps 54 degrees, I pitched the area, she bit, I missed the hookset and thought I wouldn't get another shot. Pitched same spot and before my jig even hit the bottom in 2 ft of water she was off and running with it. Set the hook and got her in the boat. Shes not a monster, but shes one of the biggest I've caught since I am new to lake fishing. She was very plump and getting ready for the spawn.

Ufc 158 Who You Got?
Hendricks - Condit fight was definitely the best fight of the night, I think. GSP - Diaz was boring. I'm not a fan of the ground game at all, I think it just makes fights so boring. I like to see punches and kicks with some blood. That's a fight. While a lot of people hate Diaz, I think the trash talking he brings to MMA makes things a bit more exciting. All the talk definitely got me pumped up for the fight...then I started yawning when Diaz basically did nothing and GSP just rolled on the ground with him.

Where Do You Draw The Line With Wind?
Great input, thanks everyone. I figured 15-20 mph would probably be my limit seeing as I'm new to boating. I've taken a boater safety course and wear my life jacket at all times when outboard is running, but no point in risking it in high winds when I can go another day. The wind at the launch ramp is a good point. I'm still learning to load straight as it is, high winds won't help. Most of my lakes have coves that I can get out of the wind, but I'd have to go out to the main lake first to get to them. Staying in this weekend I think with the wind forecast around 20 with hopes next weekend will be better.

Where Do You Draw The Line With Wind?
I'm a new boater, and the forecast for this weekend is temps in the 70s but with 20mph winds. I have a 16 foot procraft bass boat with a 45# trolling motor. I want to get out there bad, but the 20 mph wind forecast is tempting me to stay in as I'm not sure how it will work out. Where do you guys draw the line when going out with wind? Any advice on handling boating/fishing in the wind for a new boater?

10 Day Outlook!!
I've seen several Mar 30 tournaments lately. Which tourney are you fishing? I'm trying to decide if I want to fish a Keowee tourney then or Hartwell tourney.

10 Day Outlook!!
Yep. I love it. Been keeping a close eye on the weather and 10 day forecast. Lakes here in the upstate are around low 50s right now. Week or two of 60 and 70 degree days with only 40-50 degree lows should warm it up a bit. I'd give it two weeks and the fishing will be getting good.

Engine Issue
Thanks for the replies. The motor is a 2001 Mercury 90hp ELPTO. I put Startron in at every fill up and only use non-ethanol fuel. I'll check the fuel lines and system because I'm sure they are pretty old. I'll also clean the carbs and see if it helps.

Engine Issue
Hey guys, Took the boat out this weekend and everyday she start up after a few cranks, runs great getting out to spots, but every time I go to come in for the day she starts sputtering. I put her full throttle and she just jumps up and down. She seems to run fine under 20 mph, but running 40 (top speed) she sputters and ends up cutting off. She'll start right back up and go but then she'll slowly cut off again if I try full throttle. Any ideas what's going on? Sorry if my description is vague, it's sort of hard for me to describe as I'm new to boating. I also do not know my way around an outboard engine yet at all. I was thinking maybe the fuel line, filter or pump is bad but I don't know where the filter and pump are to check. My motor is a mercury 90hp ELPTO. Thanks for any help.

Did I miss the Monday press conference? Did it just go by so fast with that "SEC speed" ?

I was informed by the representitive that I spoke to that the issue is my card. She said everything she could find only referenced a standard SD card and that the unit is not compatible with the High Capacity cards. SO I'm going to give it a shot. Since there are no standard SD cards in stores these days (even hard to find online) I've ordered a 2GB SanDisk standard SD card (for cheap) to see if it will work.

How Many Miles Does Your Ride Have?
I've got a 1998 Toyota 4Runner. It's got just under 200,000 on it (Off the top of my head I'd say 197,500-ish). I'm looking forward to putting 400,000+ on it.

Though not on the water, I just went out and tested it using a different SDHC card that I use with my digital camera on a regular basis. Same results, would not work. This is the online manual that I found: http://store.humminbird.com/media/document/587_597_HD_DI_Manual.pdf My unit is the 587 CI HD Combo On page 31 starts the Snapshot & Recording View info. Also some info on page 89. Page 130 starts the Setup Menu info with the Snapshot ON/OFF on page 138.

Tried it in my digital camera, took a picture and stored it fine. Seems the card itself works. Should my next step be to contact Humminbird at this point or is there another possible solution? Thanks for all the help so far.

Formatted and tried again. No go. Creates a waypoint and displays a message saying "No Writable MMC/SD Card Available." Also tried going to the Snapshot and Recording View and tried to start a recording. It gave me a message saying "Error creating recording. Recording has stopped" or something like that. Does it matter that I'm using an SDHC instead of just SD?

Screen Snapshot is set to ON. SD Card is unlocked, formatting I don't know. It's brand new right out of the box. How do I go about doing that? I've never done that for an SD card when used on a digital camera...etc so I didn't think about that for this.

How do I take a screenshot of what's on my graph? I've got a Humminbird 587 CI HD. I've inserted a SanDisk Ultra SDHC Card (8 GB) but when I hit MARK on the graph (which is what I thought I had to do according to the manual) it says "Waypoint created" as well as "No Writable SD Card Available" or something of that sort. When I check the System Status, it shows that there is a SD card in there with how much space is available on it. Am I using an incompatible card? Any thoughts? Thanks, Steve

What Concert Have You Liked The Most?
Just reading these posts makes me wish I could've been to some years ago, but since I'm only 23, I never got to see some of the older bands in their prime (i.e. Metallica). Wished I could've seen Linkin Park in their prime too. Still want to see Foo Fighters. I haven't been to many concerts but those that I have been to were fairly small since they were here in a college town, but they were awesome. First one was Chevelle. Small crowd, because it's not typically the main genre of music for folks around here (Luke Bryan sells out in a matter of hours here), but man, they rocked out bigtime. It was awesome. Despite the small crowd, they rocked faces off. Second and my absolute favorite was Evanescence. I am a HUGE Amy Lee and EV fan. They opened their tour for their latest album here and it was unbelievable. They know how to put on a show. I've also been to a Carrie Underwood concert. While I love Carrie, and her concert was good, it's not one I'd really pay too much to see again.
