  1. There is a guy on the photo wall pictured several times with huge bass. His name is "Fish Chris". Is that you, Chris? If so, nice bass.
  2. > I do not give much thought to color. I just try to match what the fish are eating. I think that red hooks help some though.
  3. I agree, There is no subsitute for experience.
  4. Any one know of any good fishing dvds? I would like to buy the dvd set of last years Bassmaster classic, but don't know where I can get it. Thanks.
  5. I agree. This site is were I learned how to fish. When I first began fishing,( about 9 years ago), I came to this site for info. I hope that this forum does not slow down with age. This is a GREAT web site.
  6. > I am going to try to master crank baits. I have never got the hang of catching fish on them. When I fish them I either hook weads, a stump or the water. I nead to biuld up my confidence with this bait.
  7. I have caught many big bass on a buzz bait. I agree that they might work better in the morning or evening, but I have caught nice bass in the middle of the day on them. You don't have to work a buzz-bait fast. Add a big trailer to a double bladed buzz-bait and you can fish it slowly across the top. Take a buzz-bait to an unpressured pond and you will most likely catch the biggest bass in the place much faster than you would with a 10 in. worm. :-/
  8. I think that it is another name for Rock bass. I have also heard them being called stone fish. I am not sure.
  9. I agree with the tips that you listed. I would also like to add that you nead to fish differantly than everyone else. Using big baits is very important for catching bigger bass. Buzz-baits tend to catch big bass. Good luck, and good skill!
  10. I really like berkely gulp lures, and there is something about the luckycraft baits that really catches fish.
  11. Thanks for posting that intresting link! 8)
  12. My favorit game for the computor is Trophy Bass 3-D. I learned A LOT from this game. It included real vidieos from a couple of bass pros. Evan though it is not very realistic, I still enjoy it. ;D
  13. This forum seams to have a lot of traffic on it now. Do you think it is time to add another forum section, maybe one dealing with just lures? I think that it would make it a bit more organized. What is your plans?
  14. I do not have much advice on how to catch them in your lake. It might help to go to the local bait shops and ask them how. I do know that once you do catch them you will have fun.
  15. I use a stickbait and make my casts to holes or edges, that is usually where the fish are. It is fun to watch a bass hit a frog or rat though!! ;D
  16. My freinds an I had a small tournament on a puplic lake at a campsite. Bass were wirth 5 points, bluegill were wirth 1, catfish, 10 points, and crappie,2. My friend had just caught two crappie of a lay down tree and was leading me by three points. I cuold either go over to his spot, or I could go after bass at a differant area. I ended up catching a keaper bass on a 4 inch stickbait in the final 10 minutes. I won the bragging rights for that highly preasured lake. ;D
  17. Just remove the small bass, so that the bigger bass can grow bigger. Like Chris said, if you have 20 ten inch bass in a small pond, just remove 1o and you wiil get about ten twenty inch bass.
  18. Hi, I am from northeast Ohio, and I fish mostly farm ponds. I also fish Presque bay.
  19. I use scent on all my soft plastics and somtimes on spinner-baits. I dont use it on crankbaits because it washes right off. I use Yum shad sent, and Yum crawfish sent. I am not sure if it atracts fish, but it does make them hold on to the bait longer. It masks my human sent and I know it doesnt hurt any thing, so I use it.
  20. My lunker of the year was a 5.3 lb. smallmouth that I caught this spring. The fish hit a flashminnow jerk bait. That fish put up an awesome fight! ;D
  21. Good job creating this great new forum! I think that it is a good idea to only have a couple forum sections. Increasing the topics would not nessisarilly increase the posts. This was a big improvement.
