  3. Man i would like to see him try and drive a Allison mine starts to try and chine at about 20mph It takes some seat time to learn to drive the A boat but man after you learn they are the funnest boat to drive.old Mr Allison shore knew what he was doing when he built the Pad on the Allison that's why there the fast bass boat in the world with minimal amount of horse power
  4. Happy Thanksgiving To all Be safe
  5. I dont think he will have any trouble cracking blades on Ranger I have only seen trophy crack on the high performance hauls that run there lower units close to the bottom of the pad I run mine 1inch above the pad most Rangers are around 4inch bellow with it being that low he will never surface that prop
  6. why didn't you just say a stroker With that much power I would try the Turbo TXP OT4 you can get it in just about any pitch you want they have a great hole shot and good bow lift a carry a load well thats a hot motor you got i would love to have that on my Allison it would put it in the high teens
  7. try one on a Holland grill one time its great
  8. Cool that's a good choice but what i like about learning to do it your self is that after its done you understand the motor more then what you do now and it makes it much easier to diagnose problems if you need any thing let me know
  9. well all is good the daughter knew how to do it i forgot 18 year olds know how to do it all lol

  14. He isn't put that motor back on the water unless he gets a new sleeve put in that motor from the looks of the pic it will take more then 30thousands to clean up that hole and if 30 would clean it up alot of guys dont want to go that big on a efi motor because the heat number 6 is your hottest hole on the 2.5 and as far as the injectors being sent off and flowed thats a must and the ecu that's a must also a lot of guys don't know if that ecu is the A17 box it is lean around 5200 RPMs and that's the range we like to cruse our boats at every thing ive said about sending off is just part of the rebuild whether you do it your self or not
  15. Does any one know how to delete a song from a Ipod
  16. I would strip down the block and heads and send them to Outback Outboards in Augusta Georgia Mike Clemons I got his number he does all my block work and he can fix that bad head.and my injectors would go to razorback marine and the ecu would go to Tonie Brucato he can tell you whats wrong and if its bad he can hook you up with one of his PCU and let me say i have one and they are the stuff. mike Clemons can tell you every thing you need and get you the right parts and wile i had it down i would find a set of 4pettal rubber coated reed cages and put in it and a set of Chris Carson reeds in it take that vapor can off the side and put it in the trash and move your fuel pump in the boat and all of that pre detonation modules junk would go in the trash also and set your timing 0deg @ideal and 24deg @WOT if you need any help let me know
  17. I would listen to every thing way2slow says he hit the nail on the head with this post there is alot of of good info on screamandfly but dont get caught up in the all the BS over there if you want a phone number of a great guy to fix your motor and not bend you over the stump let me know his name is Texas00225 on screamandfly Mr Bobby he lives in Texas let me know i can hook you up with him he is a great guy I build motors but only mine and my brothers if you want to try it your self you can do it you will just need to send the block off and have a new sleeve put in it let us know if we can help
  18. The COWBOYS put the Giants lights out Good job Jason :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
  19. I might be wrong, but didn't Mercury make a 2.4L 175 HP? There also might be some 175HP with 2.5L blocks. Mercury made 2.0 liter blocks from 135hp i think right on up to 225hp motors And the 2.4 liter was 135hp up to the 200plus hp bridge port motor and the 2.5 liter was built right on up to 300hp drag motors
  20. The only down fall to the 175 Merc 2.5 liter or i should say anything smaller then the 200hp was that the 175hp and down is what they call slot motors they have slots cut in each cylinder to help with the idle of the motor but that made the motor lose torque on the lower end and you would have to run a smaller pitch prop on the heaver boats to help get out of the hole.a Mercury built every thing from a 150hp to a 300 drag using the 2.5 liter block the only difference was the port timing and the way the exhaust chest was cut
  21. I should have stated my motor is highly modified. But it is a steel bore. I run a 1 piece adapter plate and it is dry stacked. and I have no popit i only have a popit cover with a dump hose out the back of the motor. I dont have thermostats instead I have washers with with 1/16 holes in them and i have a hose from each head that dumps out the back and I have a hose that comes out of my 1pice plate so i have 4 pee hose coming out the back of my Alien cowl im just saying that i have all of these dumps out the back of my motor and it works fine with around 13psi and i know about the could seaz I all ways let her warm up good before i hammer the MERC
  22. 15psi is Fine a WFO I have no popit and no thermostats and have about 13psi At WFO remember guys our motor work more off of water volume then water pressure
  23. I had 2 basketballs in the jack plate of my old skeeter and i brought the back up 1inch
  24. Like I said this is what i do In the summer I fill the tank with new gas i take it to The lake fire it up go for a nice slow ride I bring it back to the ramp change plugs then take it back out and run her WFO it works for me
