good baitcaster for beginner?
Combo.... hmmm... I know a guy that likes the Abu Silver max reel, and Berkly lighting rod combos. I think they're like 80 bucks, but I'm not sure, I do know that you get a 20$ rebate on it though. I'd get that1

The "prefect" mono?
So Sufix in copolymer 'eh! I didn't know that. I had it on my first bait caster, but than I got more into jigs and worms, and went to braid. I think I'll try P-line CXX, sounds really good! Oh and this density to sensitivity thing you guys got going is making my head spin! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks a lot for the reply's guys!

help with hook size
The hooks you're using don't need a hard hook set, just reel up fest, or pull up on a tight line. You could also try to let them take it a little longer, for me it seems that I need to let my bass take wacky worms longer than I would a a texa rig worm.

The "prefect" mono?
Sure, Coply or Mono, as long as it's not braid or flouro (or sinks). I tried Vicious ultimate and didn't like it that much, still to stretchy.

The "prefect" mono?
There's no need to pretend you haven't been here before Snapper G. Why not just yourself and start over? My favorite mono is Sunline Super Natural, it has the best combination of traits out of the ones you listed of any mono I've tried. Crap.... Ask Islandbass, I know him from an other forum, ask 'im, I'm legit...... I've changed A LOT in the past 9 months. I PMed Glenn

The "prefect" mono?
I'm afraid so. Mono is no exception, everything has tradeoffs. Cool thanks IB! I will sacrifice memory and thin diameter for anything else up there though. Those are the two least important things to me, the most important to me are abrasion resistant, and sensitivity (which goes along with low stretch). I thought about it, I my snooping before I joined, I think some one named Road Worrier likes it, he said 12lb is like 20lb breaking strength.. Was he for reals? Sounds to go to be true! I wonder if it's sensitive though.....

The "prefect" mono?
All right, so when I do get my next reel, I Don't wanna put braid on it, I've got it on my other reel and really like (I've been a braid only user for about a year). I don't like dow it makes my reel feel less smooth. So I wanna try to get mono. Here's what I want in the mono. 1) Thin diameter 2) Sensitive (I'm really picky about this) 3) low stretch 4) High abrasion resistance 5) low memory Am I wanting something that does not exists? I'll spend up to 20 bucks on it. I want mono not flouro because it floats, I throw a lot of top waters so the flouro is a no because it sinks. I've head good stuff bait P-line Flouro clear. Thanks,

Light Swimbait Reel Advice Sought
IMO the winch would do good! But if you wanna get an other reel, I would defintily go with the Revo Toro Winch! (http://www.***.com/descpageRLCABUGAR-AGRTW.html) It's got a low gear ratio, and would be better than the Curado 300 IMO because of this. It also has a large line capacity, so you can keep plenty of 25 - 30 lb line on there and not worry about all you line going out when you cast.

Bass Jigs
Check out this video, it really goes into depth about choosing the right jig. http://www.another site/fishing-videos/jig-fishing/ 1) I like SK pro model jigs a lot! I did get some Thunder stuck jigs in the mail yesterday night and they seem very good, they have a very thick (100 or 80) strand skirt, they do how ever lake rattles, but you can simply add them. 2) Rattles, yes, always! 3) 1/4 - 3/8 4) ALWAYS use a trail, I like chigger craws and yum chunks.

How Ticked off do you get?
Yeah, some thing like that happened to me yesterday when fishing. I was using my worm rod (pretty stiff rod) and braid, also I had a 15lb flouro leader, and a mustad UP worm hook. I was fishing around a sunken tree and a culvert, I felt a tick-tick, let her swim off with it for 5 seconds or so, set the hook on her, the bowed over so much I though it was gonna break, a few seconds later she broke off, I reeled in the line and found that the leader had fray. I've never had any flouro try as bad as this it was triple fish flouro. So just be warned, don't use it, it may cost you a big like it did me! :-[

Whats the point of split grips?
Shouldn't be tip heavy if the rod is balanced. lol! It's kind of ironic! I was gonna post a bit tip heavy if you buy a cheep one... But I though some people where gonna say there tip heavy either way! Oh well, I agree with that!

shore anglers who use backpacks
I do! I've got just a back pack and I put a few utility boxes in there. I have a big BPS red bag that I keep all my stuff in, cranks, worms, 10" worms, jigs, spinnerbaits, creatures, hooks and other stuff. I also have smaller ones that keep empty in my back pack. I take a few of the worms and fill up on box, fill one with cranks, creatures, spinnerbaits, and so on! It's pretty light, I just keep it on and walk the shore! I most of the time have one rod.. bait caster, some time I has a spinning rod with me too, but only if I plan to do a lot of finesse fishing. I also keep two bottles of water in the two sides. Ya, back packs are handy! Get a hold Islandbass on here, he's also on an other forum I'm on and gave me the statics for making it. I've yet to make it, but will get around to it! ;D
