  1. I agree with robby... I can honestly tell you I may have picked up and actually read one or 2 of my textbooks in Undergrad... Study the powerpoints and the notes that you take in class... most teachers use the books as a reference... if you pay attention and take good notes in class you will only need to reference the textbooks instead of read them because you didn't pay attention or take good enough notes in class... do it right the first time that way when studying, it is all review for you.. also, whenever I bought the texts, I got them from half.com.... if you have an ebay and a paypal account you are good to go.. you will save yourself lots of money by using half.com rather than your student bookstore.. they are nothing but scams (ie. selling you a book for 200 bucks and not buying them back at the end of the semester)
  2. Gammys.. I like the Eagle Claw Lazer sharps but I had some trouble with them rusting this year. If I'm out fun fishing I will use the Eagle Claws but if i am in a tourney, all i will use are Gamakatsu's... I went through all of my hooks a week or 2 ago and had to throw out pretty much all of my LazerSharps.... I didn't have to get rid of one Gammy due to rust...
  3. That is beautiful. they match perfectly
  4. Look at the Powells... 703c or 704c might be what you're looking for.. they retail at $139.. wait a couple weeks and i'm sure TW will probably have a sale and you could get them right around a hundred "bones"
  5. Zoom, GYCB, Netbait, Reaction Innovations, Rage Tail
  6. I have no experience with the shimano reels.. however i do own 4 different revos.. (S, 2 STXs, and a Premier) IMHO you can't go wrong with any of these reels and you can usually find a revo S for 100 bucks for less. You are getting a lot of reel for that price. If you go with a revo you wont be disappointed.. From what a lot of people on this forum say about the shimanos you probably can't go wrong with them either. So, toss a coin.. whether its heads or tails you are still going to be getting a lot of reel for around a hundred bucks with each one.. let us know which one you chose and why
  7. JUNK! spend a little more and get something good (trilene 100%, gamma, seaguar)
  8. That was just plain dumb ^
  9. Heard this on Leno yesterday.. Whats the difference between Santa Clause and Tiger Woods? Santa stops after 3 HO's! haha
  10. I would try a Matzuo Huntin' Dog if i were you. You can find them at Dicks's and they are very inexpensive(3-4 dollars) and they come some in some good colors. I've had just as much luck with a Huntin dog as I have a Sammy.. and they look a lot alike too
  11. that isnt hard! there is a lot of good people here that know what they are talking about! ENjoy and welcome!
  12. agreed! buy a Revo or a Shimano... i'm sure they are triple what an Ardent is..
  13. i dont think you can buy the camo ones yet.. keep checking tackle warehouse though because im sure they'll have them sometime
  14. i think that would make a great gift for him... i know i wouldnt go out and buy a make a spinnerbait kit but if i got one for christmas i would love it because it would be something i would never think of buying
  15. You asked for some Pro's and Con's of this reel... Well for the Pro's: Its a REVO! And for the Con's: There aren't any! You got a great neighbor! Anything I've ever got from mine was a case of beer!
  16. I don't know how good of rod's USA Custom makes and I don't have any personal experience with Ardent Reels, but you cannot tell me that there would be a cooler looking combination than this! I would like to get one just to try out but Ardent only makes RH reels.. does anybody know the reason for them only making reels for righties? USA Custom Camo Stix Ardent C400 Fishoflauge reel
  17. I agree! This is by far my favorite thread! I check this thread at least 10 times a day to see other peoples stuff! I dont have a whole lot but I will post a pic after Christmas once I get my Powell rod that is on backorder! It should look pretty good paired up with a Revo Premier. This thread will probably really heat up after Santa comes!
  18. whatever college you are looking at, check out the schools website and look under Clubs/Organizations/ Club Sports/ or Student Activities... if they have a fishing team it will probably be listed... if not see if they maybe have a hunting or fishin club... and if that is the case then email the president of the club and tell he/she that you're interested in joining and then just go to the meetings and if the school you are looking at does not have a team, then try starting one! and i know there are ways you can go about starting a club.. it only takes you and a few other friends to start a club!
  19. My bass fishing team here at Slippery Rock is sponsored by them.. they are sick lures. I have all sizes and models and they all catch fish! I've had the most success on the smelt jerkbait and the pumkinseed cb... you cant go wrong with the lipless crankbaits either.. all of their products are top notch as is their customer service!
  20. I have a 7' M berkely amp ($30 at Dick's) paired on a Abu Garcia Cardinal reel (same price) and i love the combo.. the Medium action makes walking the dog or any other topwater technique so easy.... and for 30 bucks i dont think you can beat the Amp!
  21. Yeah I was leaning towards the 704... most of my rods are MH and i dont even think i have a heavy rod besides my flippin stick... thanks for the input.. what do you consider heavier cover just out of curiosity?
