I am glad i am not the only one. Great job. My first summer fishing trip to Minnesota last year, the first fish that bit got me so excited that i gave every ounce of strength and cooped up energy from the 20 hour drive and set the hook like a mad men. Well, i did not brace myself and was sitting at the front guiding the trolling motor and literally did a back flip into the center console and did not land on my feet but everything else in the boat. And of course on the way down scarred up my shin on the aluminum edge leading up to the front of the boat. Legs bleeding, pride completely gone, and got the fish in. It was also only 2 pounds. However, this one was not worth the circus act

Good to see you. I am sure you will get many takers on that offer considering many do not have boats and enjoy meeting others. I will have to take you up on that offer. My inflatable raft can be a nightmare to fish out of.

Those last two look like they could be over 4.5. The third to last saying it was 5.11 lb, kinda sums up the shannannigans. I'm not sayin your a liar, just saying your scale is very broken and you might have rounded up a few pounds on everyone of them. It actually is kinda comical now that i look at the weights you gave each of them. This is why i just can not stand when someone throws out 6+ pound bass without evidence. Anyone can do that and it takes away from those here who catch big fish. Nevertheless, i'd take the last two 4 pounders any day. Good fishin

Come on man, you can't just throw out there that you caught a couple 6+ pound bass at Burke without showing pics...Any time someone does this i consider it a crime. Maybe they weren't really 6 pounds... : Some of us have finals and live through proxy from others achievements at this time so help a brother out.

gorgeous fish. They weren't spawning were they...I imagine it is way too cold for that. However, there are always a few i have learned that defy the spawning norm. Great fish.

You deserved it. Every man that has to deal with ridiculous trolling motor problems should be immediately rewarded after fixing the problem. Most of the time, the boat has to be docked. You scouted out the area, you knew where they were, and you deserved the big girl. Way to go and it is just an absolutely gorgeous bass.

I'd have to disagree with you Fish Chris. I have said it before, live bait (minnows) is a whole other dimension. Heavy pressured waters and cold weather can be lit up with minnows more so than artificials. When we talk about 15 plus pound bass, how many people are tossing minnows at spawning beds hittin the banks as much as the typical artificial angler? Minnows die too fast for that so most minnow fisherman don't do that cause- minnow dies quicker and they never have enough minnows so they park in one area. If i wanted some big bass and wanted it consistantly, i would buy a bunch of minnows and toss them everywhere. I just don't believe artificials are better than the real thing. When you have to try and search for explanations how minnow fishing is not as easy, that alone should indicate your stretchin it. Big bass eat live bait. That's what they do. They didn't get so big by eating crankbaits and stinkos! But, nevertheless, i don't minnow fish, not as much of a challenge and hold no grudge to anyone who enjoys it.

i actually watched that all the way through. Told myself that i would not laugh cause it looked stupid. I made it all the way through until the end with the flying rattle trap weapon. Caught me off guard and i gave a chuckle. Well done. For the life of me i can not figure out why you guys did not catch them that day...

i can completely feel your pain and is 100% justified. It's tournament fishing, they should pick tough and new waters to fish. Hitting the same lake over and over again is ridiculous. I wish this would change. Granted, in any area there are going to be several different organizations putting on the tournament, but come on, pick a different place, give them some tough water and make do.

man alive. The problem with fishing out of a raft is that i would get killed fishing in that lake with the stumps. I am jealous of all who get to fish that blessed place. Wayne usually pulls 50 bass everytime he goes, but don't be fooled, not many people catch a quarter of that amount. Wayne knows the lake better than any. He is being modest but also pulled a 6.12 that evening and several other big ones. He is consistent and honest when he gives advice so be smart, listen to the man! Well done Wayne Shimmy

More accurate...well, not sure that is the case. If you want to catch big fish, it's common sense you need to be fishing in the cover. I usually lose 1 lure a day. However when i fish in Minnesota, i use will lose about 4 a day. They have northern pike and they have no decency. I use Triline 20 lb test but it just doesn't stop all the northern. If your not losing lures, you probably aren't the type of person that catches a lot of big bass. Am i wrong??? (im not talking about catching just one big bass, anyone can do that by shear luck, i'm talking about many big bass)

not much worse in life than that. It takes me a very long time to learn how to deal with it. However, the pain never really goes away, every big bass is like tendinitis.
