  1. its all part of the fun i guess. remembering to check your knot is a tough lesson to learn.
  2. i have now perfected my ability to lose lures by not checking the knot and launching them into orbit, never to be seen again.... new spinner for xmas, gone by new years day. it looked like a new distance record though ;D
  3. just got back from lunch hour fishing. no bite. wish i could've stayed out longer. maybe tomorrow.
  4. i'm going to try it today around 2. its not quite as warm as expected, and i sure don't see any sun out there. i wonder if the earthquake woke 'em up? let us know how you do if you go whittler
  5. whittler, great info. i'm on the white as well. near yorktown/muncie. do you think the warmup near the end of the week will be enough to get the FnF bite going again? I haven't had any luck since the snow this month.
  6. its become all about gift cards in my family. i told them we should each go out and buy something nice for ourselves, then bring it to chrismas gatherings and show it off.

  11. i've been reading about cold weather success with a float and fly rig. Does anybody know what types of flies work best for this? I intend to use it on the river for a winter bite.
  12. nice! i'm inspired to go try for some smallies on the river.
  13. great vid! those are some awesome fish.
  14. I'm taking a weekend trip down to Whitewater memorial and Brookville area next weekend. Anybody have suggestions for good fishing? Or suggestions for other activities down there?
  15. obviously no 1 right answer, i will say i switched from snaps to direct tie on worm hooks and it seems to produce better for me. i've only had 1 snap break, but i had it on there for a long time.
  16. looks like you had fun. hard not to in a place like that.
  17. I am fortunate to work within 5 minutes of a local river. My wife bought me a telescoping travel rod and reel set up, so now i go on my lunch hour. yesterday, casting at the bottom of a dam, i hooked up with a 15-16" smallie and a 12"-ish right after that. great fight with the current too. today i ventured back to the dam. within 5 minutes i had slipped from the rocks and stepped into knee-high water. home to change pant sock and shoes and now back at work. theres always next week!
  18. my wife would have freaked and threw her rod down. thats a nice fish!
  19. We took the kayaks up the river saturday. 70+ degrees, very light wind. and sunny. any shady spot, fallen tree, or rock seemed to hold a bass. it hasn't rained for at least a week, but this section is about 3-6 feet average depth. the water stays a bit stained all the time. i caught a few @ 15-16" and several smaller guys. I used a 4" Zoom "the fluke", not super flukes, on a wide gap worm hook and no weight. just letting it drop down and twitch seemed to do the trick. great time.
