  1. i went when i was too young to enjoy it. are all the vendors there the entire week? i'm ready!
  2. there was a really good article from infisherman mag this month. they recommend 3 different drop-shot setups and have it diagrammed. give it a look.
  3. this little guy came out of the white river. he was in about 1ft or less of water, but tons of rocks and ripples. i've had a couple that looked all dark like this last summer.
  4. this may be an easy one for some of the pros on here. what is this little fish?
  5. my weaknesses include, but are not limited to: -correct equipment combinations (line weight vs. lure) -still not sure how to properly fish a jig and assorted other lures(i wish i would've gone fishing when my grandpa was still around) -not investing in very high-quality gear (using a meijer ugly stick and zebco mystic stick) -spending lots of time on BR instead of working (just kidding boss)
  6. i got a field and steam fishing book for xmas, it made me want to buy some NEW gear to practice my newly aquired knowledge.
  7. i have "master angler" for wii. i think the rapala game is probably better. the bad thing is i got a bunch of lures, a bill dance fishing tips book, and a field and stream fishing book for xmas. i went fishing xmas day for a couple hours, but i was freezing and caught nothing. oh winter time takes forever. :-/
  8. I found this website early on last summer. check out the videos, this guy catches some nice fish in our area. hes quite entertaining as well. i thought he might be a member here but i didn't find him on the search page. anybody fished any spots from his vids? http://fishnwithjoe.com/default.asp
  9. i like spinner baits (white) with 2 blades. also, plastic zoom worms with the "swim type" tail with no weight. these probably aren't the best bet, but they have worked ok for me. the little green tubes with the neon green tails and a hook straight down through the top will catch blue gill like crazy in mid summer. do you have any suggestions?
  10. hi. i'm from Muncie in central IN. you probably guessed from my SN that i fish the river a lot. White river through deleware county mostly. I also like Summit lake near New Castle. I saw a couple of you said you fish Praire Creek...i've been there lots of times with very low success. any tips? i have a canoe and am looking for a nice little boat with a trolling motor. i got really into fishing this year and i can't wait for spring!
  11. i have done pretty well at white water mem. state park. i didn't get to brookville until late in the year, cold weather + fiance didn't lead to much fishing time. ;D. i've nver been to patoka.
  12. DITTO on the white river. there is a canoe rental place in Daleville, IN (a bit closer to indy) that will drop you off and pick you up. there are some great spots along the way.
  13. white water memorial S.P. and Brookville lake are both nice to visit. Maybe they would be considered central indiana. http://www.indianaoutfitters.com/Maps/state_park_maps/Brookofmap.htm
  14. i wonder how late in the year the rattle type baits and senkos will be effective? i'm heading to a friends pond sometime this week. last time all i caught were bluegill and crappie at this location. i'd sure like to catch a few more bass before the end of the year.
  15. that was so cool. what was the lure @ the 1:56min area... a senko? it had a strange motion....
  16. I guess my season is over >. unless i can take a vaca to somewhere warm. cant wait for the spawn next year. i like white booyah spinner baits in the river. also, a black zoom worm with the curly tail and no weight worked great late in the fall. i stood right below the bridge on one of the busiest roads in town and landed 2 good size LMB. so now to pass the time, i am playing a fishing game on the wii. it like drinkin an odoul's when you really wanted a bud.
  17. thanks for the advice everyone. i think i'm going to try a little home repair. i recieved the unit through a special promotion at work so i don't think an exchange will work out. it was good while it lasted, and the fish didn't know it was such a cheap reel. i'm going to upgrade for spring. these boards are so awesome!
  18. i got a johnson century c200b-562mc. i used it for about a month before it started making a grinding noise. i would like to get it fixed if possible. what is the best way to go about it?
  19. great ideas, thanks. i mostly stick to the river, i had 2 of my best this year a couple of weeks ago. next time i'm at the pond, i'm taking some senkos. they seem to get talked about a lot on these boards.
  20. that made me tear up
  21. Hi everyone, i am from central indiana. this summer i went up to barbee lake with my parents. i fished and caught the smallest bass ever. my first fish in 20 years! (i fished a couple times as a little kid). I was HOOKED. the rest of the summer and this fall i have been out as much as possible(too much according to my fiance). it brings me a peace thats hard to match. see you on the water.
  22. lots of big carp here on the White river. corn looks like the way to go. as far as casting, they get spooked pretty easy it may be best to get it out past and bring it in front of them slowly. in the mornings i sometimes see a couple of bright red carp swimming around. most of them look brownish gray.
  23. i fished a friends pond yesterday just outside of Muncie. The weather was mid to upper 60's and a bit breezy. The whole pond is surrounded by tall grass growing out of the water near the banks. a few spots are cleared. with in an hour and a half my friend caught about 5 bluegill and i had a 1 1/2lb+/- lmb. i used a white booyah spinner bait (pond magic). a fun time for late october...any recommendations for other effective bass baits in this environment?
  24. I live near Muncie (45 min NE of indy) the white river has some great spots. surprisingly, there are some good sized fish even through the city strech. you should see some of the carp in there! (not that i like fishing for carp) try the white river near you! don't litter.
