  1. i need to check into those mister twisters, never used one. i didn't fish it quite so early last spring either. although the black 5" zoom worms wroked pretty well around may-june last summer. this year i have added a BPS flippin craw kit to my arsenal. i like to think they will tear em up. we will soon find out.
  2. i caught a bank deposit bag out of the river last year, nothing in it >
  3. hey bass-n, i fish the white near muncie as well. what do you like to use during early spring?
  4. bucket buster, i had forgotten about gift cards! now i can get a better setup to fish all this stuff with. got a 50$ BPS gift card.
  5. i went to Summit lake near new castle on friday. i had called down there thursday and they said no boats because there was still some ice on the lake. i thought that meant there would be some open water....not so. needless to say there was no chance for a catch.
  6. i hope you get lots of good wear from your new threads... ;D i really should have marked a combo or 2. i'm down to a zebco spincast reel and a johnson 5'6" rod. all the new lures are going to end up costing me $!
  7. i hit white river last weekend. no luck near downtown muncie. tomorrow i'm heading to new castle to try summit lake and a couple other spots. i'm going to try out some new craw lures from BPS. hope it doesn't rain all day. also, white river is way to high to fish right now. i plan to try it again next week. i will update on this thread if there isn't a new one already.
  8. About a month ago i went on BPS.com and made a "wish list". My birthday is tomorrow, and yesterday my fiance gave me my present. Just about every lure i had marked was in the box! i'm glad i resisted the bait monkey. i have so many new toys to try out now. i'm taking tomorrow off work to get started. happy spring everybody!
  9. go! if you like fishing at all, it is well worth your trip. lots of tackle vendors and much more. i went last sunday, it's the lair of the bait monkey.
  10. i went sunday. it is pretty awesome. i have no idea how i left that place with money still in my wallet! i would certainly recommend going to this.
  11. well i braved the elements and fished last weekend. caught nothing, but it was nice to knock the rust off my casting. c'mon spring time! also, anybody here kayak white river near muncie? somebody said they did once but i cant find the post again......
  12. so did you get a kayak yet? what kind?
  13. Mort, where online did you find the used big game yak?
  14. do you think pelican castaway 100 would be a good start out kayak for fishing?
  15. now i'm thinking a kayak set up for fishing might be better for me. i can throw it in the bed of my colorado. my canoe is just too big for that. a jon boat will have to wait. its funny about it being like a woman. my fiance wants me to buy 2 kayaks or none! ;D
  16. good call. i'm still looking around. the "reenforced" front sounds like bad news. It has such a nice paint job though.....
  17. i've been shopping around (craigslist and such). after reading lowbudgethooker's jon boat restore, it made me want to give it a go. maybe i should rehab my canoe instead....
  18. I found a this boat for sale, its 300.00. what kinds of things should i ask about it when i go to look it over? via phone call, the owner said that the front has been reenforced. the motors are 27#thrust, and 3hp minnkota. no leaks. thanks.
  19. i was fishing the river right next to a busy bridge near down town. i got hung up near the pilings on some rocks, but the water was too deep to get over to it. so i walk up the bank and up on top of the bridge, thinking i would just lift it straight up and get free. when i made it to the middle of the bridge i realize my line had become tangled in a tree that i walked past on the bank. after a half hour or so i got my line out of the tree branches and walked back to the center of the bridge, my lure and line had somehow worked free and were bobbing by the bank. the river is a great place to test one's patience.
  20. the website got me pumped up. i'm thinking i should leave my wallet at home!
  21. i really can't answer your question, but the free boat is awesome no matter what!
  22. okay, no fans here, i still like it.
  23. nice defensive TD at the end.
