I fish most at the Pana Sportsmen's Club. #2 place is Trophy Country, central Missouri. I get to Shelbyville a few times a year. Sangchris, a few times each year. Never been to Ramsey. Where are you? Im in Champaign, but I am in Ramsey about every other week (thats where my wifes from). Me and a couple people are are heading to Lake Shelbyville's spillway on Saturday to try for some Muskie. You should stop by, we are planning on being there around 8am.

Ghoti, where do you fish more? Pana Lake, Lake Shelbyville, or Ramsey Lake?

I just bought a BPS Pro Qualifier reel, i hope it doesnt have the same problems the extreme does...

I havent had time to really get into it yet, I cant wait till I can really get my hands into it and get it going. I'll be sure to keep you updated. Thanks again man!

The pond I fish is right off Bradley Ave. past Parkland College on the East side of the overpass... In the summer time a buzz bait is deadly! The most I caught in 45 min was 22 bass!

No need to get smart... I understand him saying a bigger motor will swamp the boat, and I also read where he said a lawyer would eat me for breakfast... Making me think i could get a ticket for it or something worse... I will make a phone call to our DNR and find out for sure.

So it is against the law to put a bigger motor on a boat if it isnt spec'd for it?

I have a 10' Pelican Bass boat that is rated for a 3.5hp outboard motor. My question is, is it against the law to put a 5hp on the back or can the boat just not handle the weight and torque when the motor is on and running?

Thats what I did I think it was like 60-70 though. It has treated me good so far.

I have fished Lake Mattoon with little to no luck, I have hear really good things about Lake Shelbyville. Newton lake looks cool, I have a small 10' Pelican bass boat with trolling motor and portable fish finder I should take there sometime. I am looking for a 3.5 hp outboard because I am always afraid of running out of battery lol. If are up for some fall/winter fishing let me know.

Cool cool, I use to go to the track there all the time... Are there any good public lake in the area you would recommend?

I'll have to keep that in mind, I mostly fish my pond and quarries around the area so I dont usually get snagged.
