Finally.... Mikeybalzz And I Get To Fish Again! Everglades, Fl
Three months ago I marked April 27 in my booking calander to fish with my good friend Mike from the You Tube channel, MikeyBalzz Fishing. I had fished with him on his boat up at Lake Okeechobee late last year and we wanted to get together and do a glades trip on my boat. I made a suggestion for an area that is typically going off for me this time of the year. We could not have had a better day. With both of our cameras rolling, we crushed em on the Spro frog all day. Here are a couple of the better ones I caught today and the bottom one is Mikes best fish from our Lake Okeechobee trip.

They Found Snakehead
I once believed the snakehead invasion was a serious problem for our fishery in South Florida. I guess everyone did at one time. I thought the snakehead would eat all the bass. It just isn't happening. On the contrary, the snakehead fry is being eaten by the bass. The head of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission Invasive Species Team, Kelly Gestring has also confirmed this in a recent interview. While the snakehead still has a negative reputation down here, the fish is here to stay. I made up my mind that I would just enjoy the snakehead for what it was: hard fighting, aggressive and a tasty fish.

Help With Snakeheads, 2 Major Questions!
There is no bad way to cook them because the flesh is just that good. They will hit anything. try using a bait that you are not fond of, since it will be destroyed. Spinnerbaits, swimbaits all work but it is hard to beat a topwater frog.

Confidence Bait....why?
I was on Lake O last week with a Linda and Tony who have been fishing with me for years. I had introduced Linda to a Senko years ago while on a trip in the everglades. She fell in love with the senko and said she has fished it from Conneticut to Florida ever since. She shows up in a pink hat and purse and has a bag a pink senkos. I never fish pink unless I'am sight fishing to bedding bass so I suggest another color, but she said pink senkos always work for her and called it her "GoTo" bait and color. A few cast later I feel the boat rock and turn to see her rod bent and line pulling away with this 8.20 pounder. So I pondered what happened and why for the rest of the day. I know several anglers who fish with me who use particuliar baits that I rarely use and we are generally equally successful. I think we have have a confidence bait because it is successful to us.....but why? Is it because we cast it more often which equals more hookup opportunities. What do you think?

Should The Fwc Change The Bass Bag Limits?
I got a call today from a reporter in the SW corner of the state. She asked me my thoughts on the current bag limits set forth by the FWC. I was not aware that there was any discussion on adjusting the current bag limit of 4 bass up to 14 inches and one over 14 inches. I'am mostly a catch and release guy, but take a few every once in awhile for a fish fry. What are your thoughts on adjusting the bag limits? Here is the story as it ran on Fox 4 News in Ft. Myers today.

Ot: Moving To Miami. Where To Live?
Good luck....I really mean that. When i first moved down here I rented on the beach while we looked for a place. I live in the North Miami Beach area, Aventura, and I love it. Most of the neighborhoods in South Florida are below my living standards. The rest are above my living standards. I would suggest you get a real estate agent to help you find something suitable. As some of the guys above mentioned....this is HOA hell. Better to have a professional walk you through before you get into an area that does not allow you dogs, boat and truck. In my opinion the highways are not as bad as some of the other urban areas that have 11 million people are jamed into. Half of which are over the age of 55 and 25% are from a island somewhere where they apparantly drive slow in the passing lane. But hey like you said, 365 days of fishing...that's hard to beat. I actually love it down here and would not live anywhere else.

Captain Neal Helping Our Veterans By Taking Them Fishing.
Some stories need to be shouted from the roof top. Down here in South Florida, my buddy and fellow guide, Captain Neal Stark is really going the extra mile to help our veterans. Neal has been taking our broken soldiers into the everglades a couple of times a week for the last four years at his own expense. He just wanted to serve those who have served us. What a story! Here is the local news clip that just ran. http://www.local10.com/news/Captain-goes-bass-fishing-with-veterans/-/1717324/18473854/-/format/rss_2.0/-/15o1ouaz/-/index.html
