Just for fun fishing tourney in PA
I dont think so.. I think some parts of the lake have soft water.. I saw a picture in The Progress of some geese swimming .. You fish blacky much? Never fished it before. I thought the FBC drained it 3/4 of the way to do some repairs or something? This was at the end of the season though, maybe they are done already.

Man you don't have to do all that... Unless it isn't very big LOL I'll send you some stuff in return, I don't know what, but we will agree on something. I appreciate it!

Just for fun fishing tourney in PA
Im up for another trip too... Seems to be a lot more people interested than our first meet up I'll go anywhere, so I vote for them all! Black Mo. is drained right now isn't it?

Check out my new vessel!
Yeah, I took a trip on a kayak last year and have been hooked ever since. I saw soooo many fish (and caught a ton more) that I never would have seen wading or in a motor boat. Heck, I never knew the muskie population was so good in my section of the Juniata, I floated over like 15 muskies in 2 miles of river... big ones too. The packs of smallies were amazing too, I couldn't even count them... But I digress.

Started tying flies
Fluke - I know a lot of people with chickens.... I'm going to have to chase them around haha. My cousin raises turkeys too, but they are all white... I wonder how hard it is to dye feathers? hookingem - I'm not against stopping and picking pieces off roadkill either, especially if it 'wasn't there the night before'. Bone - Thanks for the site, I'll check it out. Streamers are really what I wanted to tie the most of. Nothing catches smallies like a streamer and a good old clouser minnow. dsaaverdra - Funny you say that... I'm the opposite, I tried making swims and didn't have the time, so I started doing this LOL I want to keep at my hardbait designs, but for now this is easier and cheaper for me. Jig - Thanks man! Just post the title and I'll buy it. If my son gets ahold of the book, he will destroy it or color in it and I don't want that to happen LOL I've been getting a lot of recipes from a few fly tying forums, plus my kit came with a DVD that had 6 patterns on it. Heck, even the guys in the fly shop at Bass Pro showed me some cool hellgrammite patterns.

Started tying flies
Thanks everyone. I do find this very fun and almost relaxing. My uncle gave me some turkey feathers so I'm working on making a pheasant tail nymph with it (guess it'd be a turkey tail nymph). I tied a black and gray woolly bugger tonight, ill snap pics tomorrow. Fluke - thanks for the tips and comments. Don't have a stacker, that's being purchased next BPS run, along with bent nymph hooks. I will add one thing, learn to whip finish by hand, but a whip finishing tool is invaluable

Check out my new vessel!
Thanks gents! I'll let you know how it handles once the river stops moving chocolate jk - old blue is still around. This is my alone time vessel, old blue got promoted to kid hauler (the mini van of fishing if you will).

Check out my new vessel!
Thanks Mike! It's on my bucket list to take this thing (or some form of kayak) down to L.A. and fish for reds... Someday man....

WAKE UP PENNSLYVANIA!!!!
Well that's good to know. I never keep or do tournaments, so I guess I never really paid attention to those rules haha. I get my moneys worth out of my license, but it has spiked in recent years.

Check out my new vessel!

Started tying flies
Mainly started tying for smallmouth and trout, but want to branch out into Muskie and Pike flies. These are my first attempts at tying, so don't laugh A buddy of mine at work gave me a whole fox fur, so I tried to make a streamer with it and some grizzly hackle. I crowded the eye of the hook and used too much fur on this one... oh and the wire ribbing... I tried to weave it... yeah, you can see how that turned out: Here's my first woolly bugger: and finally, even though these aren't really bass flies (although the occasional smallie will eat these) two pheasant tail nymphs and just a generic black nymph (all bead head size 16): ^ Fashioned in my homemade fly boxes (chew cans and foam)... Going to start tying hair jigs here once I get decent. It really isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Check out my new vessel!
Thanks! I wanted a kayak... but wanted something with a little more room, so this thing is perfect. Paddle it like a 'yak, or attach a trolling motor on the back, or get the rowing kit (but I've had enough rowing for my lifetime). I've even seen a few people that made sailing set ups for it.

WAKE UP PENNSLYVANIA!!!!
I was talking about Rangers comment: For all of you that does not know we cannot hold tournaments between April 16th and June 17th! So there goes any potential for any major fishing trails like flw (bfl) to have divisions up here. I never knew that?

Trout infested bass water!
Swimbaits or if you're going to be fishing within the next few weeks, I carolina/texas rig the biggest lizard bait you can find. Bedding bass hate lizards... And if you think "there's no creatures that look like lizards in this area" it will still work

Looking for info on canoeing the Juniata for smallies in May
What part of the Juniata? Juniata River Adventures is going to be your best bet if you're heading for the southern part of the river. If it were me, I'd fish the Raystown branch of the Juniata or the stretch between Mount Union and Lewistown. Let me know if you need any help, I grew up fishing these areas. Maybe I could join you for a day trip.

WAKE UP PENNSLYVANIA!!!!
License fee's are high, but I just deal with it. It's either pay or don't fish... Electric only lakes... Heck, I love 'em. I even love the paddle only lakes, the only non-restricted lake I fish is Raystown. When did this tournament thing do into effect? You can't keep Smallies on parts of the Susky and Juniata and I knew a bunch of tournaments got stomped out of those areas, but I didn't know there was a statewide tournament ban during those times??

Check out my new vessel!
Had this for about a month or so now... Between the snow and now the flooding, it's still in the basement (it's dirty down there, so beware) I still have to rig up the paddle strap, anchor system and then install my fish finder, but other than that she is ready to roll! Going to take the back seat out and move the front one back about a foot.

Kayak Fishing
Went once with my good buddy Juan (guides on the Juniata and surrounding waters here in PA) and I've been hooked every since. IMO, its the best way to fish a river or stream. Got myself a NuCanoe and have yet to take it out... The ice finally melted, but now the flippin' rain has flooded the rivers!

If you could ask Shaw Grigsby a question
