Depression setting in
I'm with J on this one. I took up fly fishing so I had something to do when the lakes were hard (Ice fishing doesn't keep my attention for very long ). It's funny, when I'm fishing for trout, I can't see myself going back to bass fishing. Once the lakes melt, I'm back on them and can't see myself trout fishing until they freeze again...

I don't get it
Advertisers and spammer (not putting them in the same category!) are getting very crafty at getting around ways that once blocked their efforts. As J stated, these are regional and I'm willing to bet that Google doesn't even know they are getting through. There's just too many locations for them to be able to nail them all.

Tacklemaking with Tech!
Hey, post away I'm the opposite. I think it's amazing when guys can carve lures and do all this stuff by hand. I'd have a mess if I even attempted to carve anything. I don't have any 'training' in this either. I started about 5 years ago in simulation programming and I eventually got into making video games on the side. I started to get bored with programming and moved into doing art for games instead. It eventually turned into this! Thanks for all the kind words. I forget if I posted this earlier, but I'm going back up tomorrow to finish the rest of the masters.

Tacklemaking with Tech!
Thanks! I will and I'll try and get better video too. It's fun watching all those lines of code on the screen and then watching the router go to work... Geez I'm a geek...

Hey from PA
Hey there! You fish Walker or Faylor much? I hit both of those quite a bit. Just look for the sky blue rowboat with a white trolling motor, that's "Old Blue".

Tacklemaking with Tech!
LOL Got the whole way up to the guys shop and forgot all my material He cut me 1 side so we could see how the model was going to turn out. And guess what, he uses PVC to make most of his stuff and has a TON of scrap!!! Score! Last night was more of a lesson in using the CNC so I could just come in and do all the work without him. Here's a video of the cutting: http://twitvid.com/VKVXM And a pic of the final product... Sort of:

Just got my large box of pvc scrap! This stuff is awesome, I wasn't expecting it to be so dense. I think this stuff is going to be the ticket

Tacklemaking with Tech!
good stuff guys! I've been looking at components and I'm stuck... What length of screw eyes do you guys use? I was looking at either 1/2" or 3/4" for all of the designs. Any input?

Tacklemaking with Tech!
Hey if you guys are posting info that's going to help someone then go off topic, I don't care Is pvc close to the same density as balsa or any woods? I want to figure out placements of lips and weights "in the field" with pvc but will be using wood too, so I need to find a wood that's close to pvc...

AAARRRRGGGHHHHH...Frustration W/ Swim Jigs
How heavy are your jigs? I use the lightest jigs possible at all times because if you go too heavy, the fish gets too much momentum during head shakes and can throw the jig. Smallies are notorious for this

Tacklemaking with Tech!
Someday I may try that... Not now though We did kind of get off on a tangent about other methods, so I see where the confusion was haha

Sunfish Spinnerbait

I need everyones help please.
I used to smoke and do all that junk back in High school. You know how I quit, fill your mouth with chew and shallow. I can't even smell the stuff without feeling sick now. Be prepared to be sitting on that toilet you flushed the dip down though You got this! Don't give in!

Tacklemaking with Tech!
I'm going up to cut my master's (templates if you will) Monday night. The PVC should be here sometime next week, but I have a lot of wood to play around with. Not going to get into molds or anything yet, just going to use the replicator for now. I'll document the master making process and post pics then! I don't think I can test the masters though, they will probably be corian or a similar material and will probably sink like a rock... If he isn't busy, maybe I'll just cut a few out of wood to and test those before I waste my time on the replicator...
