El Grande Tubes or Match Hatch Sticks.... But, you can never have too many jigs as long as they are black and blue.

Gut hooked fish in tourneys
Ah, that's kind of hard NOT to do around here It's fun to watch the madness.

mountain bike?
I can't stress enough how much a good drive train is essential. I made the mistake of getting a cheap bike and sometimes when I would stand up and pedal, then shift gears, the freakin' chain would skip and I'd smash my knee off the front. That HURTS like nothing else. I can't speak for Haro or Specialized Mt. Bikes, but they made some AWESOME BMX bikes back when I used to ride. They just built some Mt. bike trails here around Raystown Lake so I may be joining you in a search for a decent bike

Gut hooked fish in tourneys
Make that diet cream soda and dump that down the fishes mouth. It helps stop the bleeding I'll agree with Etommy on this one, leave that hook in there. Actually, I think YOU'RE the one that taught me that in another thread J. HA Oh, btw drop some weights in the fish while you're at it and go all Mark Hart on that tournament... BAZINGA!

How much do you spend?
I get to BPS about once a month and it's usually a $30 to $40 trip. I'll go once or twice a year and get my big stock up (usually after winter) who knows how much those trips cost (anywhere from $200-$300). That's just BPS, I order some things online about every 2 weeks (usually small purchases though). Not counting in shipping, probably another $10 to $20. Also, my wife knows not to take me to Wal Mart because I will ALWAYS buy at least 1 fishing item while there... Rough total estimate = $600 a year

Re: Pike or line break?
Oh, I wasn't saying a pike couldn't make a clean cut, but I doubt it would happen every time. I've seen some pike and muskie got through 60 lb braid like it was nothing.

Weedless Hooks? Confidence
Personally, I hate weed guards (on jigs OR hooks). Call me crazy, but if I'm going to get my hook caught on weeds, it's coming up with the jig or hook weed guard or not. The only time I leave 'weed' guards on is when I'm in some wood. Try giving your hookset a little more quickness if your using a stiff weedguard. That way, you know you have enough force in it to get the guard off the hook.

Re: Pike or line break?
If it was a pike, you'd more than likely see some frying where the tooth hit. I've never had a pike cut me off that quick though, it usually takes a few good rubs on a tooth to cut the line. Maybe the knots coming untied. I usually leave a little more tag end than normal when I tie straight to braid because some knots tend to 'slip' a little more until they tighten down.

Need help with kayak anchoring.
A few different kayakers have said not to use anchors with kayaks. I don't know HOW its done, but they claim you can position the boat in a manner that you'll minimize your movement to almost nothing. I know I don't anchor my canoe, but I just move out of the current when I want to stop I guess I really wasn't much help HA

favorite trailer for action???
Paca craws or Rage craws. Depends on what mood the fish are in. If they want that small profile, I use Paca, any other time the Rage craw is on the jig.

Polarized Shades
The Strike King shades are great. I can't wait until the 'Sexy Shad' shades come out (Denny looked hot in those Ha) I also bought some Bassmaster brand polarized sunglasses from BPS that float. They were on sale the other week for $19.99 so I decided to try them. They work pretty well I would recommend those too.

Newbie help with removing trebles
Usually if you pinch their bottom lip hard enough, they'll stop moving. Pliers or something with a long handle will keep your hands safer(not 100% safe though). Get some of those hook remover things from bass pro (bill dance has one, but the bps brand works just as well). They are especially good for toothy critters.

PA anglers:need help with Black Moshannon potential threat
Boatnic is a lake and wildlife genius I hear Black Moshannon is a fun place to kayak also. Maybe I'll have to make it my first stop once I get one.

Thinking of going back to school
I'd do it, but I'd wait until the economy is in better shape. I agree with what's been said, but its the loan companies scamming you, not the schools. I regret going to school for programming because I already knew how to do it. I think any skill you could learn on your own is a stupid decision for school. Something like marine biology or earth science would be an awesome course to pursue. The actual bachelors or masters is more important than what you actually went for.

lure eyes , who's got the best ????

New things happening at my lake how do I approach it?
Yeah or the wacky rigged stick bait. Throw it weightless and let it lay on top of the milfoil.

PA anglers:need help with Black Moshannon potential threat
The fish will be alright. They aren't going to drain the lake so fast that nothing can get to the deeper areas. The fish are going to move before they get trapped (some may get stuck, but most won't). It's just like what would happen if the lake flooded then returned to normal depth, those fish will get out of those pockets before they get into trouble. I can't really give you a good answer as to why the DCNR is handling the repair the way they are. I don't think a 'water fence' would work if the bottom is all muck, the water would find it's way under the fence and just fill up again. This was probably the most cost effective method of repair.

Is everyone on this board a senko freak?
I use them a lot, but I wouldn't say I love them. Personally, I wacky rig them more than anything, I rarely T-rig them anymore (I'd rather throw a rage craw or El Grande bluegill tube if I'm T-rigging). You cannot beat the wiggle of a stickbait as it's falling weightless though.
