Outfit Canoe For Fishing
The seat attaches with adjustable straps and buckles (sourced from Cabelas). Be aware that some seats similar to this one attach with velcro straps that do not work as well as the buckles.

Outfit Canoe For Fishing
It takes between 10 to 15 minutes to rig. I use this to fish my local 11 lakes. It would handle bigger water if I wanted to make a longer drive.

Outfit Canoe For Fishing
Thanks. The hull weighs 44 pounds. I car-top it. I can launch and land practically any place. You rig it lakeside, slide it down the bank, step over the bow into the boat, and shove off.The boat is modular, you can launch with the bare hull, a paddle, and a rod if you wanted to...or add as much of the equipment as you want. I nearly always run it fully rigged.

Anyone Else Itching For A New 50 Sized Shimano Low Pro Reel.
I do like the current 50-size low profile reels and have four of them...and that's probably enough. I am MUCH more looking forward to the possibility of a 50-size Conquest14...

Thanks. This was my studied solution to fish my 11 local lakes, the biggest of which is only 200 acres. Modular, car-toppable, takes up practically no room in the garage. Works for me...

Dream Combo
My dream combo is any rod and reel with a 15lb bass on the end of the line... Other thoughts here: The September/October Dream Combo Thread

Outfit Canoe For Fishing
Welcome to Bass Resource! These photos might give you a couple of ideas... Boat fully rigged: Bow area showing forward mounted trolling motor battery, 8 gauge extension cables, sonar, tackle trays. Amidships - showing the dashboard with Scotty rod holder, tackle trays, sonar, and (partially) the transducer deployment arm. Also in view is the gray conduit for the battery cables. View looking aft - showing another rod holder mount to the side of the seat (another has since been added on the other side), the seat, outrigger bracket with trolling motor mount, Scotty anchor lock, anchor rope can. Stern - showing rod holders, another view of the outrigger bracket and the Scotty anchor lock. Let me know if you have any questions about my rig.

Any Idea What This Noise Is?
Sending to DVT is always a good idea... I do think, however, that they don't make that noise if they have line on the spool, are mounted on a rod, and have a fish on the end of the line...

What Is The Best Round Reel Under $350?
Nice reels but the current production Morrums don't meet the OP's requirements unless he buys used and accepts reduced line capacity. He wants to be under $350 (preferably under $300), and wants a "300" or "400" size. The current Morrum 3600 lists for $499, can be found for $400, but only holds 135yds of 12 pound line - perhaps less than the OP wants. Although - the line he is intending to use has a diameter roughly equivalent to some 15lb lines and a 3600 would hold about 110 yards of that which should be plenty... Lots of nifty choices - it will be interesting to see what the OP decides.

Where's The Tackle Warehouse Sale?
I tried to get onto the site about 1:30 central time - it would keep hanging up but I eventually got my order in. Nothing special for me - 10 deep diving cranks and a couple of 3600 boxes - saved about $17. Gotta fish deeper next year...

What Is The Best Round Reel Under $350?
Since the OP was originally looking for 300/400 size reels - I guess my thought was he was thinking of something like 17-25 pound nylon/flouro/co-poly line. Anyway - lots of great suggestions but we keep taking the OP above his price point which he stated was preferably under $300... In that price range, it keeps going back to a Calcutta D (but the Luna is an interesting alternative!).

What Is The Best Round Reel Under $350?
Great suggestion and another nice reel but it could be line capacity limited if the OP really wants/needs a "300" size. I sure like my 100DC - nifty reel.

Ooops - should have looked at my rod rack before typing - fixed my post...

What Is The Best Round Reel Under $350?
The Calcutta TE-GT models (sizes 50, 100, 200) were more or less de-contented (different handle, no porting on the frame or sideplate) U.S. market Conquests but are functionally the equivalent of a Conquest. However, the TE-GTs, along with the Calcutta TEs (sizes 200, 300, 400, 700) were discontinued a number of years ago but are commonly available on the used market. Today, if you want to go with a new Shimano, the best choices boil down to the Calcutta D (USDM or JDM - whatever floats your boat) or spend a bit more and go for the Conquest. Keep in mind that the Conquest is in the middle of a product upgrade. The new 100 and 200 sizes were released earlier this year - the new 300 and 400 sizes are expected sometime early next year (but no release date has been confirmed yet). Something to consider if you decided to go with a Conquest. Depending on the exchange rate at the time, the new Conquests could end up quite a bit above your price range however.

What Is Your Average Sized Fish?
2010 to 2013 seasons, a total of 5222 bass caught, the AVERAGE fish was 11.50038299502106 inches... The 2014 season data is incomplete but it might not make that 11.5" average...

My Most Modified Reel
Thanks! I bought the 1500 on eBay and it came with a non-stock, broken handle. To initially fish the reel, I pulled the handle off my Revo S and put it on the 1500 and liked it right away so I ordered another Revo handle for the 1500. Not the lightest handle...but it's "in the family" and the color matches very well with the 1500 sideplates. AND, an inexpensive addition - a 4-bearing handle for about $20.

My Most Modified Reel
The 1500/2500 size reels are easier to palm, a bit lighter, and hold all the line you need for bass fishing up to about 14lb test (on the 2500). Lots of tuning parts available for folks that like to tinker. I have a 5000 but hardly ever use it - perhaps I would if I needed the line capacity with higher lb test lines but I rarely fish that heavier line. This is a 9 bearing (for now) 1500 - dual-bearing cog wheel, single-bearing on worm shaft, four-bearing Revo S handle, carbontex drag. It holds all the 10 lb line that I can use.

My Most Modified Reel
Thanks - I checked out his page on FB, plus the FB group you mentioned, plus the "Ambassadeur Room" page. Lots of neat stuff. I saw some photos of his lightened line guide, the bearing-supported driveshaft, and the lightened cog wheels. I guess he doesn't have a web site with product displayed.\ Anyway - I would be interested in availability of parts for 1500/2500 (non-IAR) - the driveshaft, line guide, etc. if you can pass that along. I have a feeling though that the prices might be more than I paid for the entire reel !!

My Most Modified Reel
Nifty reel indeed! Is the gentleman in Australia in the business of supplying those parts - or is it only a hobby endeavor? I am espescially interested in 1500/2500 stuff...
