  1. Thanks for that link on supertuning. I did that to my new Fuego, along with adding a bearing to the worm drive (5x8x3 w/a 7x5x2 spacer) The reel is a bit smoother and it rotates with less resistance. I did also clean and oil the bearings, which sure does make the spool bearings spin more freely
  2. I'm right handed, but a few years back I busted my right wrist, and now there's a plate screwed into it...what I find is that my wrist starts to bother me while cranking a reel. My solution was to buy left-handed baitcast reels. Works for me 8-)
  3. So much for my attempt at humor
  4. SWEET! What rods do you plan on pairing up those reels with?
  5. Mixing brands of rods & reels isn't a big deal. What's important is to make sure the colors match
  6. Greetings folks, I'm from Thompson , CT. After a 20+ year long hiatus, I've decided to get back into fishing. I have three good friends who fish regularly, one being a very active Bass fisherman (Larry L from Sturbridge). I look forward to the spring, and in the mean time I'll be reading up on tackle and techniques. I am just overwhelmed by all the knowledge that's here on this forum. I got a lot to learn 8-) Later, Russ
  7. The claim is 7 bearings, but I can only see 4 + the anti-reverse bearing. Part #194 (2 pcs), #31, #3910, #3927 So, where are the other two bearings? are they in the handle? Sorry, I'm a n00b and can't post the link to the schematic
  8. One note, after cleaning the ARB, DO NOT use compressed air to blow it out! The needles will be lost forever...don't ask how I found that out
