  1. i live in the chesterfield area, and the dark green senko with red flakes works great here. also sexy shad colored crankbaits have been working for me, the shallow diving ones.
  2. ya, thanks for the information. ill research those stand up shakeyheads and make sure its not just a fad thing but actually works and then if it does work ill probable buy some. thanks for the information though.
  3. thanks for all the help guys. ill have to look around online and find some deals on shakeyhead supplies and buy some to try.
  4. haha my mistake, i just got the calais so its fresh in my mind, i meant a shimano sehara
  5. ok that shimano is looking good atm, but ill have to keep looking at their stats, any reel suggestions for the job? i currently have a calais but its a 5.0:1 so it would be right for the job
  6. Basicaly i am wondering which rod is better for fishing texas rigged worms and shakeyheads. The g.loomis SJR783S(or whichever gloomis is appropriate for the job), or the shimano CUS68M. I want to know the best for the job and not the best for the money.
  7. with the jigging setup could i also do shakeyhead fishing efficiently or would i have to get another setup for that also?
  8. also, final question, what length worm should i use?
  9. ok thankyou, and im guessing to get a shakeyhead with the lead weight painted black?
  10. ok, and what weight shakeyhead is a good weight to use for most occasions. also do you rig the worms texas style or how do you rig them?
  11. ok thankyou, do yall have any suggestions for worm color and brand for clear water and then other colors for stained water.
  12. I am looking to start shakeyhead fishing and i am wondering what is the difference between fishing a shakeyhead and a jig.
  13. thanks everyone for the help. i think ill check out the 842 glx this week and then start saving up for it since it does have a steap price tag. im also going to start researching some highspeed reels soon probable.
  14. i personally would say you should save up more then $150 like i did since i just got a cranking rod and reel. You should save up and get a shimano calais 5.0:1 ration and then a g.loomis CBR783C. This setup is summed up in one word from my experience so far with it. Amazing.
  15. thanks for the help guys, ill check those rods out later this week
  16. btw what g.loomis rod would yall recommend for jigging and dropshotting
  17. ok then i guess ill just get a baitcaster for jigging and dropshotting only, and use my spinning outfit for weightless senkos and other weightless stuff. im also thinking about getting a setup for topwater but idk about that yet because i never fish topwater really.
  18. now i have heard alot that finnese you need spinning, and atm i have a spinning for that. but do you think i could move my finnese stuff to 1 setup that would do jigs, dropshot, and weightless worms, or is that to much to ask for one setup?
  19. I am now looking to get a great rod and reel for jigging and dropshotting or just jigging. I am wondering which would be better for the job, a spinning setup or a baitcaster setup.
  20. im looking to fish chesdin for the first time and the james in early march probably.
  21. ok thank yall, and btw i am going to post some pictures of my new setup on this thread tommarow.
  22. so they would be good for spinnerbaits and like weightless senkos?
