  1. Welcome aboard! For one the leader spool is going to be more expensive, but it will also be a different grade line than a regular spool. There are some posts on this topic in the forums if you use the search box in the upper right corner of the page. Here's one:
  2. Beautiful pix and fish!
  3. And quite a fish that is!! Congrats to the both of ya!
  4. Welcome aboard, Charlie!
  5. I actually like the BPS Micro Lite rods. I've got 3 of them, 2 ML and one travel rod in L, but it's almost stiffer than the ML. The ML is good for Ned rigs, drop shotting, smaller wacky rigs, and so forth. Is your rod the model with the gold threaded reel seat, or the newer, graphite reel seat?
  6. Welcome aboard!
  7. Hiya Bill! Welcome aboard!
  8. Here ya go: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HBDTCW0/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  9. The experts have spoken. I'll just welcome you to the forums!
  10. Actually, according to Gary Senft, that's part of the allure to this setup. I've caught many using this, and the hook does slide down, but there's plenty of power to set the hook in the position you set it.
  11. Welcome aboard, Justin! I'll let the experts in your part of the country chime in and answer your questions I'm a lowly East Coaster in the bass rich Virginia!! Good luck, mate!
  12. Welcome aboard, Chuck!
  13. For me, this year, a "first" was the Ned Rig. And it has not let me down ONCE, saved me from certain skunk days.
  14. Good luck on your quest! Peacock bass are on my bucket list, although I'm talking the Amazon giants. I'd take a Florida strain, too, though !
  15. Seen my share, as well... Thus, one of the reasons I use yellow Power Pro. I am a line watcher. So I have put a lot of time in and have gotten pretty good at hooking the *vast* majority of wacky bass in the mouth area, not the gut. But there are those times when the take is so soft and the line is still, but when you reel in, a bass is there. Have seen that with both wacky and weightless TX rigging, although less TX.
  16. Seems like they're all catching up to the pedal drive system, finally. Some very nice yaks to compare in the field, I'd be hard-pressed not to look at several if I were in the market, and not just from my current brand, Native.
  17. Very happy with the resultant win by the Warriors! W/o KD, I don't think it would have happened thus.
  18. So far so good! Only tested 'em once, was about 1 hour using that rod setup. No fish on it, but a ton of snags and the rig held up extremely well under those circumstance. The grass was pretty thick in the areas I was fishing it and I did bring in a lot of grass on both the hook and the weight. A few times the grass was heavy enough to slide the hook down to the weight, as it would do with a fish on. Hard to beat for the price.
  19. I've toyed with the idea of buying one over the years, but needing to have rearming kits on hand adds up the overall cost. I'd love the greater comfort offered over using a fishing PFD on my kayak. However, I never want to have one NOT inflate when I need it to save my life. So the choice has been to stick with the "always on" kayak fishing PFD.
  20. Welcome aboard! No pond experience, but darn sure wish I had my own!
  21. Welcome aboard! No can help. Looks like a shad darter...
  22. Welcome aboard! Does sound like a crappie fest is needed. Invite some friends, tell them there are no bass in that pond, take all the crappie they catch!
  23. Welcome aboard, David!
  24. Welcome aboard, Jared!
  25. Welcome aboard! No experience with Huddleston baits, so those with it, like @A-Jay will chime in. Good luck!
