  1. Welcome, and enjoy the camaraderie!
  2. Welcome! Stop by the introduction forum too. Can you explain more of what you mean? Weight used, etc. could be a lot of things affecting the presentation.
  3. Bummer, but thanks. You'd figure with all the engineers living in this area that SOMEone would have done a full topo of these reservoirs by now...
  4. Sure thing! We don't have these here in VA, but sure wish we did. They're a lovely sight on the water, I'll warrant!
  5. Absolutely beautiful! Barrows Goldeneye http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Barrows_Goldeneye/id http://www.google.com/search?q=barrow's+goldeneye&aq=0&oq=barrows+gol&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
  6. Wow! Fantastic! Congrats.

  9. Welcome, Jonathan!
  10. Harwood's Mill and Lee Hall Reservoir in Newport News Virginia - they are part of the same system. Thanks.

Too true. I was a dad at 28, and four boys later, I am rather silver at 43. But I always guffaw at the "when they start" and "four years later" pix of the presidents.
  12. Well...ditto to tomustang's statement, welcome back!
  13. Pretty cool. Curious, did you do this for comfort? I.e., to stick the rod under your arm as you crank?
  14. It's awesome that it was caught with a lipless crank, either way, IMO!
  15. Nice to know, and easily mistaken. Either way, I'm still amazed at what carp are caught on, LOL.
  16. Very cool! I'm amazed at what guys catch carp on (foul hooked or otherwise). I can't remember the last time I caught one, and I've even tried! So to land one on a lipless is even more of a "wow".
  17. So did y'all return the barrel of fish to the aquarium?
  18. Did someone say coffee?! Welcome aboard!
  19. Whatever you find, I would absolutely buy a pair of Cablz retainers. I now have the adjustable version and they're awesome. Hold is super tight. Have tried a number of eyewear retention styles and the Cablz is the best (and original). Even Costa makes a $10 knock off, but not as good, IMHO.... FWIW.
  20. If you don't mind, so on the North American version, can you look up a specific lake or reservoir in order to see if it has a topographic map? Reason I ask, the reservoirs I fish don't have any topo maps - well, I bought one from the ranger station, but it wasn't very helpful... So I was looking to see if Navionics was every lake everywhere (exception of private ponds and stuff, I'd assume).
  21. That's a heart breaking loss, J. My first purchase after buying my Costas was 14" Cablz. I just bought 12" adjustable Cablz and what a big difference. I feel far more secure. Hopefully they'll be secure enough to not find their way to the bottom of one of the local reservoirs or the Chesapeake Bay.
  22. $10 isn't bad. I was just looking at it on my iPad, the HD version is $50! I'd like to know if my local reservoirs are in the database before I buy.
