  1. Our DSG's locally (2 of them) carry the tubes. Where I bought mine.
  2. Virginia: Fresh statewide: $23 Or In your county/city: $16 Fresh + Salt: $40
  3. That'll do. Short-n-sweet!
  4. Let me add that I also had pontoons for my canoe and first yak so I could stand and fish. So that was another thing I had to have--ability to stand. The Ultimate and Commander allow you to stand without stabilizers. Their stability is amazing.
  5. Good that you plan to get some sit-in time with both. And Goose has plenty of good stuff to say on the matter, too. Personally, I spent $350 on a sit-on-top kayak as a beginner. I was already experienced at canoeing, but wanted to swap over to kayaking. After a year, I realized what I wanted. I missed certain aspects of my canoe, but still wanted the kayaking difference. So I settled on a hybrid. It is like a canoe, but sits low to the water like a kayak. It has the storage of a small canoe, but the maneuverability of a kayak. For me it was (and is) the best of both worlds. Mine is a Native Ultimate 12 from Native Watercraft. The other big name in hybrids is the Wilderness Systems Commander. You can find the, for under a grand on the web. Both are excellent options, I just liked the Ultimate better.
  6. Welcome, and enjoy the camaraderie!
  7. Welcome! Stop by the introduction forum too. Can you explain more of what you mean? Weight used, etc. could be a lot of things affecting the presentation.
  8. Bummer, but thanks. You'd figure with all the engineers living in this area that SOMEone would have done a full topo of these reservoirs by now...
  9. Sure thing! We don't have these here in VA, but sure wish we did. They're a lovely sight on the water, I'll warrant!

Too true. I was a dad at 28, and four boys later, I am rather silver at 43. But I always guffaw at the "when they start" and "four years later" pix of the presidents.
  17. Well...ditto to tomustang's statement, welcome back!
  18. Pretty cool. Curious, did you do this for comfort? I.e., to stick the rod under your arm as you crank?
  19. It's awesome that it was caught with a lipless crank, either way, IMO!
  20. Nice to know, and easily mistaken. Either way, I'm still amazed at what carp are caught on, LOL.
  21. Very cool! I'm amazed at what guys catch carp on (foul hooked or otherwise). I can't remember the last time I caught one, and I've even tried! So to land one on a lipless is even more of a "wow".
  22. So did y'all return the barrel of fish to the aquarium?
  23. Did someone say coffee?! Welcome aboard!
