Fish clear water lakes, mostly the same places I would fish during the day. 1/4 or 3/8 black spinner bait gold colorado blade, 3/4 black buzz bait worked slow as you can. Dark colored Rage Tail craw 3/16 pegged weight has worked well this year for me also. I have always fished the 3 nights befor a full moon, cloudy light rainy nights have always been my best producers. clear cloudless nights with flat water have always been difficult for me also. I feel blacklights are a must, no bright light. Have everything in the boat in order and placed so you dont have any trips or falls. I start night fishing when the water temps hold the 50 degree mark at night, air temps what ever you can handle. My PB an 8 pound even came in April this year on a 1/4 ounce spinner bait, the low that night was 43 degrees, water temp was 57 degrees. Have fun be safe, keep the life vest handy. These things work for me. It can be real addicting.

I am looking for some current lake conditions. Leaving on Sunday 4-29-12 for a week long trip. Water temp, clarity, level, have they spawned or are they on beds. What with the early warming this spring, I may be late for spawn. I hate fishing post spawn. The DNR phone info is usually off a little, from past exp. Chris

I have fished Trilene XL a lot and used a Palomar knot, I leave the tag end about 1/16inch long never seem to have any slipping problems.

WildBill, The double rig was in a FLW tournament last year by a guy named Mann to win it, thanks for the tip on rigging it. I will be trying it this year, looks really good comming through the water.

Sad to say but yes, I have certain hats for tournaments. I break them in pre fishing.

One big fish shows I am lucky, numbers of 2 to 3 pounders shows i am skilled in my sport. I would take numbers.
