  1. The heavy snow was predicted and many scientists feel global warming is the reason. When the weather is warm the atmosphere holds more moisture, then when winter sets in the there is a greater amount of snow to be dropped. I believe El Nino is out there which puts more moisture into the air. Hahahahahahaha! Yea... those 'scientists.' Well if they say 'scientists' believe in it, then I guess I will too!
  2. I've asked the same question a lot for certain types of fishing. I can shed a little light on the question. For treble hook lures, you want a slow action. M to MH. I like a 7' for cranks. For lures such as spinnerbaits you want a Fast tip. I like a MH 6'10". I think the rod length depends on personal feel as well as what kind of waters you are fishing. Longer rods are obviously going to allow you to cast farther but less accurate, while shorter rods will lack in distance but make up for it in accuracy. Maybe someone else can shed some light on other methods and rod choices. I'm interested to see what they have to say.
  3. A's are the highly rated anglers, B's are in the middle, and C's are the lowest rated. They do that so people can't pick the top five anglers for their whole team...
  4. I'm in! Be careful guys, this is addicting. 8-)
  5. The sport is really growing. I can't wait to see how big it will be in 5 or 10 years.
  6. Haha I love the Copenhagen superstition. I might try it pretty soon but I sure hate to waste good Copenhagen unless it works! Ha. I do have certain boxers that I think I do better in.. I'm sure I'm not the only one..
  7. A River Runs Through it! I also enjoyed Bill Engvall's Bait Shop. A little goofy, but the only movie that really has anything to do with tournament fishin'. I thought it was kinda funny.
  8. It seems like the longest winter in years. USUALLY we're out on the lake right now in the low 50's. INSTEAD... I go out to work on the boat and its 35!!!!!!! In January we had 1.5" of snow and schools were closed for 3 days... 4 in some parts of Kentucky... and the local Wal-mart was sold out.. yes SOLD OUT of bread. The Lowes I work at was sold out of snow shovels and salt. And I never saw so many wrecks...
  9. NOT telling you to do this... BUT I know many many anglers who have replaced the decals on their motor because of the same problem you have. They took whatever Horsepower decal was on their boat and replaced it with a lower horse. Many anglers also do this to fish in tournaments that have horsepower limits. Don't want to recommend this and I do always play by the rules, but if I was in your situation and had NO other choice, it would be a thought. 15 horse is not a huge difference.
  10. Ahhhhh the one that got away.... Last season I was fishing a tournament and about 9:00 in the mornin' we pull up to that spot we've beein waiting to fish all mornin'. I was throwing an orange Norman through a cedar tree alley when I lost the feeling of vibration and noticed my line heading straight towards the boat. We had wedged the boat in between two cedars to keep it still and not have to use the trolling motor (bad idea). That fish got one look at me at the surface and took off. He wrapped around one of the trees we were wedged in and popped off. He would have been my personal best. It's good to have these though. I've learned from every mistake and like to think I get better after each lost fish.
  11. Dang, ain't yall forgetting something? A River Runs Through It! Can't believe it was not mentioned.
  12. http://store.schumachermart.com/ssc-1500a.html I was just looking at that one at wal-mart tonight. I read some reviews that said it had trouble slow-charging, and would constantly shut off and read a 'battery error' message. People did not look too happy about it on the reviews. Anyone had any experiences with these problems?
  13. In today's world... you NEVER know what could happen... I don't hardly feel safe without one anymore, no matter where I'm at.
  14. Well folks, it's midnight... And I just plain can't wait for March...
  15. Ok, that got me a little too excited. How am I supposed to focus on Vengeances and Vendettas when I know this thing will be out in September?
  16. That's just funny right there. I don't see how anyone can sleep. I can remember many times where I find myself out of bed, and walkin' around the boat and/or sittin' in the truck at 1 or 2 in the morning just waiting to leave. I just get to dang excited.
  17. Sorry guys. Did not mean to start anything... BUT I did learn a lot. Ha. Thanks for all the info! I might not even be able to add an on-board charger. My battery compartment doesn't have a lot of empty space. Are there any guys out there charging the old fashion way? What charger would you recommend?
  18. Just wondering what you guys used as far as automatic battery chargers? Gettin' one for this season but I have to buy 2 new batteries too, so not really wanting to spend a bunch of money on it. Don't need the biggest and fastest one, just want a reliable automatic.
  19. www.geminisportmarketing.com Can't beat 'em.
  20. SWIMBAITS!!!! Somebody teach me.. :'(
  21. I think I can solve your problem. Jig man is correct. I also own a Procraft 3 years older than yours and had water leaking into the boat. It was the hose fittings. Actually even had one COMPLETELY pop off in the middle of the lake. And we weren't even moving. Almost sank the boat. I got a hold of the best marine silicone possible and re-sealed 'em. The are fine now. Might just be a ProCraft problem.
  22. Thanks guys for ideas and pictures. I like that setup and it's probably the most practical. Did anybody ever have problems stepping on the rods? I guess it's something you just have to get used to. I tend to get a little excited, especially with a fish on.
  23. Don't know how it is in Ohio but yes, I know in Kentucky, once you buy a boat, you are SUPPOSED to get it registered right away, then they will give you new registration numbers and stickers and then mail the title.
