I'm gazing out my window at the rain coming down. It looks to be a passing shower so I'll probably hit the condo pond when it stops. All this has me wondering what baits and techniques all of you use for post-rain fishing.

Obviously, as with all matters, it boils down to myself. However, I have to say all you on this board inspire me with ideas of how I can be a better bass fisherman.

I've caught oodles of bass on a 1/4 oz. Strike King Redfish Magic spinner with a Swimsenko trailer.

Chicken soup is the cure all. Also a bit of honey, tea w/ honey or hot water w/ honey for the cough/soreness of throat. I also use essential oils. A little peppermint oil always clears up the sinuses.

I'll tie on a Heddon Swim'n Image in the Speckled Trout pattern from time to time. I find it a good substitute for a silver Shallow Shad Rap for when I have a stiff wind in my face as it is somewhat heavier than the Rap. The action and diving depth are not too much different between the two.

Live Bluegill. Edit: That would mean catching a fish thus not being skunked, ha. Then my answer would be live worm.

There's a difference between an act and an artist. The Black Eyed Peas are an act. I've heard better renditions of Sweet Child o' Mine at karaoke night. Jim Cornelison should sing the Star Spangled Banner at every game possible. Not to sound sexist but the song is so much more affective when it's sung in a powerful masculine voice.

If I incorporated "partying" with purchasing fishing tackle I would probably get date raped by the Bait Monkey.

I'm not a big fan of the 5 inch. It's just bulky. However, I do sometimes rig a 3 inch on a Manic Shad head so as to resemble the profile of a sunfish. This is one of Ike's tricks.

Most of the time I'll use a GY doubletail hula grub. I'll also throw on the back end of a GY swimsenko. When the sun is setting I like to throw something "big and black". So I'll put a Black 8 inch Producto Tournament Worm on my biggest black jig.

I'll start off with saying that I think most actors get more credit than what they deserve, read overrated. Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks and John Travolta are versatile actors who can pull off any role in any genre of film. They aren't characters of themselves. That's why they are probably my favorites. Lots of Buscemi fans here. I like him in a supporting role more than I like him as the lead. I wasn't blown away with what he did in Boardwalk Empire. Meanwhile, I thought his perfromances in Fargo and Reservoir Dogs were a lot more than memorable. I also think what he did in Con-Air is often overlooked.

Immigrant Song always gets my blood rushing. The Viking Kittens video makes it even that much better. Besides, I don't think they ripped that one off from anybody, though I wouldn't be suprised if they did.

I'd try a little black beaver, t-rigged w/ a bead. I'll probably answer "Black" whenever asked about a color for a jig or soft plastic, especially in low light situations such as murky/stained water. A combination of Black and Chartreuse or Black and Blue are options as well. I'd Texas rig with a bead or select a jig w/ a rattle. Since visibility may be limited in dark waters a bass may depend on it's other senses such as it's lateral line.
