  1. Coffee scented baits work best in the morning :/
  2. Since we're talking links.... Last night I clicked on the JJ Magic's link. My Norton Anti-Virus proclaimed it was an attack on my computer. What gives?
  3. I've moaned a few times that the Strike King Rage Tail Anaconda does not come in Black. This week I threw a 10" Big Tex colored Anaconda in a fresh bag of black Producto Tournament Worms. They bled onto the Rage thus creating a darker version, exactly what I intended to do. However, it still wasn't pure black, the color I like to fish in low light/murky water conditions. So later that night I went on-line to see if anyone sells a black dye so I can create the worm I desire. Turns out that Spike-It makes a black dye. Not everyone carries it but TW does. Anyhow all this got me thinking so now I have a few questions for the fishing gurus here. Has anyone used this color dye? Does it turn the bait black or does it just darken it a bit? Which color Anaconda would you think would convert to black easiest? Is there another brand of such a dye that might work better? Thanks.
  4. I think sometimes it does matter and sometimes it doesn't. It could be a topic for another thread
  5. What Jax just said works. I'll add a Swimsenko, weightless or keel-weighted. Also I like to keel-weight my Anaconda. If the Anaconda came in BLACK I'd probably fish this more often.
  6. Ha, just said this to someone on Wednesday, except I used the word Green instead of Watermelon. So, I too subscribe to your ROYGBIV theory of bait colors. I wonder why we see so many Black and Blue baits but not Black and Violet baits.
  7. I go with Boone. I find them in the saltwater section at Gander. You get 20 for $1.99. I use #2(35Lb) and #3(50Lb). Prefer the #3 because I can open and close the snap easier with my fat fingers.
  8. The Gander Mountain by me is selling Senkos at 25% off; reg $6.99 now $4.99. At least they were the other day. I'm going back today to stock up.
  9. Welcome aboard. It's been 20 years since I fished Lake Texoma (lived in Durant). Is it still a big Striper lake?
  10. Welcome aboard!
  11. Z-Man Chatterfrog in the Black/White color. Seems to be a bit bigger than most models. Bought one, used it, got skunked, threw it in a box to be forgotten about. Decided to give it another try this year. Now I love it. It's a "no dinks" bait for me. Haven't caught a small fish on it yet. I usually trail it with a Swimsenko though sometimes I use the frogs legs that come with it.
  12. Wal-Mart on N.Congress in Lake Park had them last time I checked. Yeah, PM me if you want to get together and fish.
  13. Yeah, I don't own a boat... ...yet.
  14. While fishing my condo ponds I usually get asked stupid questions like: Are there really fish in here? Do you eat them? My biggest pet peeve is an unlicensed fisherman taking home an illegal fish, especially Snook. Ha, last year friend of mine posted a pic on FaceBook of a "3LB" bass he caught out of the polluted pond in our old neighborhood . I'm pretty good at guessing bass weights and I'd say it was half of that. I didn't want to call him out and be a jerk about it. Instead I waited a week and posted a pic of a true 3 LBer. Thing looked like it could eat his.
  15. Probably more like a sugar farm.
  16. I've been using Carolina Lunker Sauce in Crawlic for several years now. I recently purchased a tube of MegaStrike. Results have been mixed. Maybe it's just circumstance or maybe it's a confidence thing but I feel better using my old brand of "stank".
  17. I think every local down here in Florida owns a pack of Red Shad. Personally my favorites besides Red Shad are Okee Gold, Crawdad and Moccasin. I'll use them as a trailer on a jig from time to time as well as rigged Texas. Also, if you want to dye another bait red there is nothing better than sticking it in a bag of Red Shad with all the "red juice" in it.
  18. I don't fish Zoom but I do fish paddletail swim baits; Skinny Dipper, Swimsenko and Havok Grass Hog. Many times it's in some kind of white color. Not too long ago I made a mid-day adjustment to color the bellies Orange with a Spike-It marker. I started to get fish after that. Seemed to work that day.
  19. I accidently bought a pack of Gamakatsu Deep Throat Wide Gap hooks instead of the usual Offset Shank Worm EWG. Can anyone tell me the performance advantages and disavantages of this hook as well as it's best applications? Does it really make a difference if I use either type of hook?

NY Giant fan here. Going into the draft I was hoping for an impact LB, a big stud OL and some help on Special Teams. I think these were the team's initial goals as well. Things didn't go according to script but I'm still happy. 1-(19) Prince Amukamara, CB: Most had him in the top 10 overall, some even as high as #5. Getting him at #19 is a steal. He'll help a leaking Giants secondary that was both injured and in decline last year. 2-(52) Marvin Austin, DT: First round talent who sat out his senior season because he accepted improper gifts from an agent. Would never be available here if he played. If he's a head case that needs to be straightened out then he couldn't be in a better place then on Coughlin's team. He'll join one of the best D-Lines in the NFL who will keep this rookie's ego in check. This is the second steal in 2 rounds by the Giants. 3-(83) Jerrel Jernigan, WR: Brings depth at the Slot WR spot. More importantly though, this guy can make an impact on Special Teams as a Returner and a Gunner. Has 4.32/40 speed. They drafted some more Special Teams guys later in the draft as well as a potential contributor at MLB amd a 6-6, 323lb moster OL project. Even though they didn't follow my plan (how dare they, lol) they still improved by staying flexible with some terrific value picks.
  21. Duct tape works wonders
  22. I've always wanted to pack a rod and reel in my golf bag. Call it my F-Wedge or something, lol. Whenever I get to a water hole you can tell I'd rather be fishing. I wouldn't be suprised if there was a state record lurking in one of the ultra-exclusive courses in the area.
