My 2 Year Old

Recommended Posts

How long does this terrible twos thing last omg he's not even 2 yet still 3 weeks away but seriously he's so bad. The wife and I are pulling our hair out I even got a gray one I just discovered. At moments he's a angel just makes ya melt then its like a light switch and the devil comes out he starts beating the cat or running away in stores. Not to mention taking him out to eat. Don't get me wrong I love him dearly but how longs this last we put him in time out constantly I don't believe in spanking but soon as we let him out after a timed 2 min he comes hugs kisses cuddles quick and just starts doing something else bad. He's even put together that momy or daddy in shower + flushing the toilet = screams by us and burns but hilarity for him it never fails can't even lock him out he knows how to get in or around any "child proof" device created he's to smart for his own good.

I don't think it ever goes away....My kid fired me from being his Daddy yesterday because I didn't want him standing out in the rain waiting for the bus.He has a thing for being last in the long line at the bus stop.He told me the bus starts moving when he's not even in his seat yet.So he likes to be in the front at the bus line for that very reason.

Yeah....He's 6.....He's starting to talk back more and more now.The thing is some of the stuff he says is just off the wall intelligent. Pretty soon he's gonna be smarter than me. :( Or so it seems.

Gray hairs? Yeah those come fast when you have kids...LOL

Talking back hah his favorite word is "no". Well be like "noah don't kick the cat" "no!" "Noah don't press the buttons on the tv" "no!" If u tell him anything his answer is no. He's the best in the morning he's all cute and loves on ya acts all silly he's a little ham as the day progresses he just gets worse and naps actually make it worse too.

Consistent discipline from mom and dad. My wife and I have 3 kids, and we have to be on the same page and consistent with the punishments, and rewards, and when the kids see that both mom and dad won't put up with the "no" crap, they stop pretty quickly. I also think a pat on the fanny is not the worst thing, but only for extreme situations.

Yeah me and the wife are consistant I think its the inlaws and babysitter that's not consistant. Her parents always argue not that me and my wife don't but they take it to the extremes and he sees it when there along with they don't punish him for anything and started the hitting thing. One will tell him go hit nana or papa in the face he's sleeping so my son will do it and they laugh me and the wife don't allow it. Then the sitter my sister is the oppisite and punishes him to much or for the wrong things.

There is a direct conection from the butt to the brain. "Spare the rod and spoil the child".

Sounds like he wants attention. Give him tons of attention when he does good things. Ignore him when he acts up.

He gets a ton of attention were always playing the tv is always on "his" channel as well. Today he started something new it was cute for the first minute then just got annoying. Getting his pjs on he ripped the shirt part outa my hands put it in his mouth and proceded to run laps laughing the whole time acting like a dog. Idk where he learned this we don't have a dog he's scared of them. He did this for 45min straight till he got tired enough for a bottle and passed out

I really wish more people would still spank their kids. I'm not saying beat their kids, spank their kids. A "get their attention" kind of swat to let them know they're doing something wrong. It's a natural human response. I touched the hot stove, ouch that hurt, I'm not going to touch the hot stove again because it hurt. I kicked the cat, dad swatted me, I'm not going to kick the cat again. I have never really known anyone who used time outs that had control over their children. Most of them spend their days pulling their hair out because their kids are running wild. I know when I was little if I was acting up I got spanked and I stopped doing what I was doing because I didn't want to get spanked again. Kids have nothing but time when there are little so what if you take 10 minutes away? I have a strong opinion about it I guess, probably because I babysit grown people who should be able to take care of themselves but still have to be told right from wrong day after day.

My wife swats him some times and I have at times be it doesn't seem to phase him he just says no and slaps ya right back. Maybe I don't or she don't do it hard enough. Now my aunt still does the wooden spoon and belt routine I felt so bad for my little cousins over easterweekend when they visited.

If you don't get control of him now it will just get worst as he gets older.

I'm well aware of it I always tell my wife he's not growing up like she did or all our nephews getting away with everything. I was beat when I was younger and started working the farm as soon as I could chuck a hay bail or pitch ****. We try and do punish him I think a lot of it is just being cranky and 2. He's a angel if ya let him play outside he loves being out with the horses or by the water well I fish he just doesn't realize the concept of weather or dark trying to get him inside or keep from going out. I was the same way when younger my parents said id sneak out to go fishing everyday rain or shine not much has changed actually lol

Wait until three. They're worse. You got to get them where it hurts. Figure that out, and you have control. Some kids, it isn't spankings. Others, a pat on the butt is so humiliating, that's all it takes. For my oldest, free time was where I had leverage. For the youngest, counting to three, and then corner, and if that doesn't work, a pat (literally, LOL) on the butt, and he's like putty in my hand.

Today we went to the greece mall in rochester he acted up here and there and all it took was threating the carisol ride in the food court. He wanted to ride it and I just told him he had to be good or he couldent ride it and he'd behave for 5minutes. He'd act up again this time in fridays and we told him if he didn't sit in his chair the sharks under the table where gonna eat his fingers idk where the wife came up with that but it worked. He never did get to ride the ride he slaped my face well inline so he got a pat and threw him over my shoulder right out to the car and we left.

My 2 year old boy will be three in september. His TT's started at about 18mos. and its progessively got worse. Sometimes he is the sweetest little angel, but.....

Also, he tries to compete with his 2 older brothers (8 and 10), which makes it worse.

I also have a teenage girl and would prob. take the TT's over a teenager. I don't have too many gray hairs, but I think every one I do have is from the kids!
