Having trouble getting the handle off of my Quantum Tour Edition Pt Baitcast reel. Any body else have the problem?

Does anyone find gut hooking more of a problem with straight shanks hooks more than wide gap?

I use the regular wide gap Gamakatsu and Owner hooks but I've seen alot of people recently using Straight shank hooks, whats better for flipping?

In my neighborhood we have a nice pond that has a good amount of very large crappie. 12+ inch fish are always caught each time I go. Lately we have been having a problem with guests invited to fish and keep all they catch. One of the residents in the neighborhood, acts as if she manages the lake and has told her guests to catch and keep every single crappie they catch. She says that the crappie will over populate and ruine the bass population. This lady never even fishes. My problem with this is that I have lived in this neighborhood my whole life and I enjoy catching these large crappie, and I always release the fish to be caught again. Fishing is all I have to do. Any ideas of how I can solve this problem??? Please help.

Does anyone have the Quantum Smoke pt 7' 4" rod? I'm looking to buy a flipping stick and I'm wondering if this is a good choice?

I've heard that the Palomar knot is not a good not for Flourocarbon? Is this true?

I have the 7' 2" and it seems to handle the KVD 2.5 crankbaits very well, and you can throw any crank or lipless bait you want on it. Great rod!

How does your height and rod length put a factor in ur fishing? I'm looking at buying a Flipping stick and I'm trying to figure out the right rod length.

I am wondering what people who live in NC do during the winter for fishing. I want to try and get out more often in the winter and try and catch more fish, but I don't know where to go and what to do. I am near the Piedmont section of NC but travel east alot during the summer.

Does any certain knot work best for Crankbaits. I wouldn't think it would make much of a difference but wanted to get some opinions on which knots you all tie on your crankbaits? Personally I tie the palomar, easiest and seems to work just fine.

Just bought the 7' 2" MH Extra fast tip for the same thing. Can't wait to try it out!

What is the best flourocarbon that has low memory and is durable. I know all lines are going to have memory but I want to try something different, I've tried Berkely 100% and that seems to be the best so far. I'm looking at the BPS Flourocarbon but would like to get some ideas first.

Why are all the Lucky Craft baits $14 and $15?? I have never used them because of their price tag.

Defiantly the Roboworm, Martens Madness or the Margarita Mutilator colors are the best!

Which of the KVD rods do you have and which one do u like for multy purpose?

Thinking about getting the Quantum Tour KVD rod. Trying to decide what action and length I should get. I plan on throwing cranks, traps, and jerk baits. Any Advice would be helpful.
