internet shopping tax?
Some solutions will come. The marketplace will develop an affordable online solution, probably similar to turbo tax that will keep up with it and generate electronic filing. Or, mom and pop stores will have to join a digital marketplace that will do this for a fee per transaction. There will be the inevitable scams and data breaches. I hope they keep it level by making any company doing retail here charge this, such as Chinese companies. Face it, the internet sales are huge, times have changed, and states that rely on sales tax need the money. I live in a poor state and we need bridges and education money. I hate paying taxes, but this was inevitable.

Flipping grass
A trick I read on BR a while back is to thread your line through one end of a swivel (but not tied on) between your weight and hook. When you put your plastic on and work it over the eye, put your hook through the other end of the swivel and led it slide up to just below the bait. Then put the hook in the bait like any t rig. Keeps the bait from sliding. It works great and seems to have no negative effect on strikes. The other day I told a kid at work to xerox something. They had no clue what that meant. I told them to make a copy. Some days I feel old.

Getting experience and becoming better
Watch the videos on here. Read everything. Try a plastic worm and learn to feel it. Good luck.

5/8 ounce tungsten barrel weights for Carolina rig
The also have a 1 oz

Weight?
If you don't peg, the bait will flutter behind the weight at a somewhat slower speed. I find I get better feel with a 1/4 - 3/8 oz wt.

"Boat box" set up for kayak
Fising from a kayak, I fish muddy to stain, pads, weeds, rip rap and wood. Mostly pads and hydrilla. Setting up a box. I have all my baits in idividual boxes by type: worms by size, creatures, beaver, jig and pig, swimbait , spinner baits, frog, et c. Lately, I take from those boxes to put in my two sided Plano boat box. But, I have done it different ways: 1. Take a couple boxes as they are, 2. Take a little of everything. 3. Take everything I can find in Junebug plastics with terminal gear (worked well, actually). Looking for ideas when I can only take three rods and around 3 x 3700 boxes or a double side. I either have too much crap and confuse myself, or too limited in my choices. What would you do?

Texas rigging technique questions
You could always try rigging a small stinger hook in the tail. That might reveal what is short striking it. That's how I learned some Saltwater bites.

A more durable critter?
Havoc baits seem tougher to me.

Fishing
Fishing from a kayak teaches you to pick apart an area. I fish alone, looking for the "fat girls." Mostly I fish for mental hygiene. In his book Fishing for Giant Bass, Bill Murphy talks about fishing all day for a 15 minute window. Trying to develop that kind of confidence.

Too hot?
It gets very hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms about when I get off work. Heard that bass rods make a good lightening rod.

what unpopular lure do you use?
Do you have a lure that you use that is no longer very popular? I sometimes use a creme worm pre-rigged with a prop, which I don't see a lot of people using.

Which do you use more: Baitcasting or Spinning?
I mostly fish for LMB in muddy or murky water. BC 3/4 of the time or more. I use braid all of the time except with treble hooks.

Baitcasting frustration...
Some days your timing will get off and you will backlash a little, after years. Also, you will always backlash if you hit something with your bait or your bait flies off. Gonna happen. Hang in there. Great advice above.

Looking into buying a kayak for fishing. Help and suggestions needed
Depends on how much you will use it, length of average trip (time and distance), size of water you fish, how heavy you are, how coordinated, balanced and strong you are, how much gear and how many rods. What is needed for a couple hrs on a small lake or pond by an average healthy guy is very different than what is needed to fish all day in a big reservoir for an old, big guy.
