  1. Trickworm seems to indicate any straight tailed medium sized worm. Beaver for flat flipping bait.
  2. Sold be Good for jigs, plastics and maybe spinnerbait1s. Maybe frogs. I would put braid on it, (50-65#) but that is just a personal opinion. Lightning rods are better than their price point, IMHO.
  3. Sometimes we refer to a technique by the name of the original or most famous lure. For instance "Rattle trap" for lipless crankbait, "Rooster tail" for in-line spinnerbait, "spook" for walk the dog type bait. Can you think of others? May vary by geographic area.
  4. Old military policy at our house: don't ask, don't tell. She buys plants and other stuff. We have total freedom with our discretionary "allowances."
  5. I still use them, however I use standard offset more, aND don't rember why I switched.. I only use EWG for thick plastics. Tru turn gives a solid hookset. Thanks for posting this. Reminded me how much I like them.
  6. I have a M BC also, that is rated for jerkbaits with 14 lb mono. Perhaps that would be a better setup?
  7. We should be concerned. PETA types are against fishing and hunting and they are organized. Fortunately (FOR FISHERMEN)they focus on research and agriculture. I don't understand why I enjoy bass fishing but find crappie boring.
  8. I have mostly fished plastics on a 6'6" MH BC with 65 lb pp braid from a kayak. I have used the same set up with a spinnerbait and it feels a little off. What do you guys recommend for spinner baits?
  9. I brought this up last year and got a lot of differing opinions. The consensus was yeah, but... I don't tourney fish. I fish mainly plastics (90% T rig), jigs and spinners. I am pretty good with those. Other baits I don't like as much. I love frogs but miss a lot of fish. Hate treble hooks.
  10. I am a braid guy, when jit comes to single hook baits. Tried Mono, Fluro, and Hybrid, keep coming back to braid. For treble hook baits, I am still experimenting because I rarely use them.
  11. I fish weightless plastics on a M St Croix Mojo Casting rod. LOVE IT
  12. I am more blue collar than some, except with fly fishing. Some of it is old and clunky by today's standards, but this ain't a fashion show. BC reel: Pfluger and my old Bass Pro Viper (workhorse) BC rods: St Croix, BPS Tourney Special, Lamiglass, Daiwa, American Rodsmith, Ozark Spinning Reel: Pfluger, Okuma Spinning Rod: Ugly Stick!, BPS Tourney special, Okuma, Shimano (for salt)and I have a Fenwick travel rod that I am wildly inaccurate with Fly reel: Pfluger, Hardy, Okuma, Orvis, Ross Fly Rods: St Croix, Sage, Lamiglass, Loomis Overall, St Croix and Pfluger are my favorite brands with Okuma right up there.
  13. If you want to go fishing, just start acting romantic and 4 out of 5 times she'll send you fishing.
  14. Bringing back some fond memories of my kids'childhood. Have fun.
  15. Lunker City plastics bleed colors onto each other very quickly.
  16. No slack once it hits bottom. You want constant contact.
  17. Not that danged distant. More like a first cousin, and twin brother to the fly tying monkey. You can get started with eyed screws, hooks and split rings and epoxy from Wal Mart. Paint from their model paints or craft pàint. Start with poppers. Hobby lobby has balsa.
  18. We have wonderful sponsors. I have had great service from Seiberts, love rage tail, savage gear, kast king seems to be great, etc. I appreciate their sponsotship!
  19. I posted earlier that I don't use trailers and do fine, yesterday I had nothing but short strikes. Gonna rethink my stance. Fishing!
  20. I like to go there and look at stuff, impulse buy (especially plastics) , and pick up an occasional sale item. I like some of their BPS brand stuff. I seem to be buying just as much at DSG and Academy. One of our local Walmart's kicks butt wit the fishing section. The trend I don't like is that they (bps) are pushing other brands out in favor of their own BPS brands and those are going up in price. It has got to be getting tough for brick and mortar stores. I buy most of my rod and reels and major purchases on line, which is new for me. Younger people live on the internet. My kids had some groceries delivered from Amazon on Sunday. One of my kids works from home, or a coffee shop. Times are a changing. I think BPS is looking a lot like SEARS did a few years ago. Losing relevance and trying to buy their way out. Remember k mart?
  21. Ain't gonna let my wife catch me buying something from "my dailyhookup". I'd have my but in a sling.
  22. Enjoy your show, and so does my wife. Down home, regular people, no ego b.s.
  23. Thanks. I guess I will have to order some Gene Larew. Any particular worm your favorite? Thinking about the 8 inch.
