Jigs With Real Buck (deer) Tails
Tying your own isn't hard. You will need a vise, bobbin, strong thread. I recommend 3/0 or 200 denier. After tying, superglue the thread.

Jitterbugs
Alligators love to attack Jitterbugs! I accidentally caught three different gators on it.

Starting with hard baits
Baitcasters 6,6" St. Croix Mojo, MedMOJO, 6' Ozark Milestone Heavy 7'3" Lamiglass EXL 736C, Heavy 6'6" BPS Tourney Special, MH, Fast Ugly Stick Lite 6'6" Medium Spinning Fenwick Eagle 6'6" Light? Ugly Stick GX2 6', Medium BPS Tourney Special IM6 MH A hodgepodge of brands. I also have some Salmon/Steelhead rods. I have nicer fly gear. I have moved around with work and keep having different species to target. Bass and Panfish, now. I use the St Croix most of the time, but the Ugly Stick seemed to have a better feel with Cranks.

Starting with hard baits
I have some random crankbaits and hard jerk baits. What type of set up do you recommend? Most of my rods seem too stiff. What type line? I have read through posts and they seem to contradict each other.

Whats your go to baits/lures? I'm lost on what to use and do when I can't catch fish.
A Kayak opens up a new world. I think that you are fishing where the fish aren't. Structure and cover.

Minor Color Change?
Water clarity and staining are a huge factor that adds to the confusion along with ambient light.

Help match line and baits
BC :I have some heavy fast rods. Med fast rodt; wo reels with braid, one with Mono. Thinking about using Fluoro on one Spinning: fast and me. All with braid to mono I fish a lot of worms T rigged I have some 7.5 inch soft swimbaits I want to try (3:16) I just got some frogs for Father's day and some bladed jigs What to use with what? I am overthinking it. I fish pad fields and slop, in stained to muddy water, from a kayak. I was using braid on a MF BC for pretty much everything.

How many rods and Whats on them?
On the kayak I carry two. A MH bc and a medium spinning. Or I fly fish. BC for single hooks. Spinning for treble hooks or finesse. I mostly fish soft plastics, jigs and spinnerbaits.

Favorite Must Have Accessories?
Tie or attach EVERYTHING to you or the boat, including your paddle. Comfortable life vest you will wear every time. It is better to have one item that does several things than multiple items that do one thing. Splurge on a comfortable seat. I use a collapsing wading staff for a stake out pole. Anything that sticks up on the deck or side will likely tangle when a fish is on...the big one. Have a whistle and knife handy. If bigger boats are around have a flag for days and light for nights. Remember, your goal for this trip is to make it back so that you can go on the next trip. Simplify, streamline

What pliers do you use?
Surgical grade needle drivers with a blade (Olsen-Hegar) that are not quite good enough for surgery any more. The ones you get from fishing tackle companies generally are of poor quality.

Riddle Me This Batman
I fish in stained to muddy water and there is a noticeable difference with Junebug. I will change to other colors. If they don't work, I start catching them again on Junebug. I do have one lake where falcon lake craw and candy bug work almost as well.

Stinkiest Soft Plastic You Use?
I agree about the garlic.
-
Pick 3 baits
Dislike finesse baits. Midwest finesse, sliders etc Can't stand treble hooks Can't catch fish on plastic jerkbaits. Probably user error

Where Y'all Power Fisherman At?
I have been known to paddle into pads in my kayak and drop a t rig in between them. Straight braid. As little weight as possible
