  1. Would either of these work? http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=detail&hookid=454&view=1 http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=detail&hookid=453&view=1
  2. Like the looks of the big ear....
  3. Thanks for the compliments guys. Much appreciated. A fisherman's approval is one of the hardest things to come by....lol I will admit though, those don't hold a candle to some of the cranks I've seen painted on this board. Some really talented people in here.
  4. Really depends on the color of the water and the depth the fish are at, and whether or not it's sunny or cloudy. I've seen some really dark ones, some really light ones and everything in between. Predominately (in my area) you'd most likely see a dark back (blackish on top) fading to GP quickly with purples hues on the side and some black bars if colored well, fading to pumkin and little orange around gills on belly. Fins and tail would look chart in sunlight IN the water, not out. Mouth area/gill plate, might have a palish blue grey color on it. Here are some variations I have done: Sunfish Raging Gill Blue Gill Sick Gill
  5. Very nice and clean work Ted.
  6. I got my Shorty's catalog in yesterday Cadman and noticed the same thing. Definitely will be a BIG help.
  7. I think it's already too late.... Nice work
  8. Thanks for the compliments everyone. As for painted blades, I do not have any here, and not something I'll get into anytime soon unless I could order them. Time is limited for me on this and expecting a baby first of the year, so I'll be lucky to get that spinnerbait wet.....lol As for the red on the head, I buy those heads prepainted. That's the closest color I have to match. Don't have an airbrush here, and haven't gotten into the mulit colored powder painting.
  9. Been "intending" on doing this color for about 6 months now. Finally got a chance to work on it. Real pleased with how it turned out.
  10. I don't change the size on my camera. I take normal size pic, then crop down to the part I want. I then go to image resize, or in some software my be listed as "scale image" and adjust from there then save it. You can do this with paint on any windows software and not have to purchase anything.
  11. If it were for me, I'd probably replace the translucent white strands in the belly with some orange to match the fins on the belly. The person I made it for did not want that though.
  12. Been a while since I posted any wire baits. Had someone wanting me to match this yellow perch and this is what we ended up with. Wish we had some of them around here....
  13. Looking good. Maybe one of these days I'll figure out how to take pics like that...or maybe not....lol Nice looking jigs.
  14. Here are a few new colors I've made lately. Baby Gator Dark Ozark Craw Watermelon Candy Red
  15. I noticed you did use a couple of those names BBM. Fine choices I might add....LOL Funny, they just popped right in my mind. I make a new skirt color and takes me 2 or 3 weeks to name.....
  16. Those look great. Here's ya some names, in order of pics not named: Blingin' Gill Cosmic Creature Graveyard Shad Zombie
  17. I know where to get more....lol Send me a message and we'll talk about it.
  18. I've been making this color for a while. It's the Living Image Sexy Shad with Red tails. Just haven't had a good pic of it until now. Whatcha think?
  19. Look nice. Only problem is if they were in my house my buddies would steal em.....lol
  20. llPa1nll---That is a head that I have cast for me in bulk quantitys. I do not have the mold here to pour with. bass junkie---I have a Nikon Coolpix p100. Using a photo editor as well. Like I said in the opening statement, bigbassin144 helped me out with some pointers. Photography language looks like Greek to me.
  21. I myself would use one of these two depending on the constrast I wanted.
  22. Wanted to make a Black N Blue a little different than what everybody else has. This is what I came up with. Has the paler blue in it instead of the dark blue. Gonna call it "Winter Solstice"
  23. That hook is a little different than a normal wide gap. I like it much better because it doesn't have the abrupt turn that a wide gap has which is where I've had most of my frustrations with the WG. The hook above has a slow arc all the way to the bend of the hook. I generally use a paca chunk and in the water it looks really good. Puts the pinchers in a defensive position. Always put the bait in the water and look at the trailer while in the water. Will give you a much better idea of what it's actually going to look like vs holding it in your hand or laying on boat.
  24. Been trying to get some better pics of my baits. I want to thank BIGBASSIN144 for all your help with taking the pictures and the info you provided. Here's a few I ended up with.
  25. I use string and wire. Mostly wire on the silicone skirts and thread on my living rubber skirts. As Cadman stated the pressure of the tie will cause more flare on the skirt on a tied one. I use a .24 gauge black coated copper wire for all my wire ties.
