  1. The original Magic Swimmers were made for saltwater use, so I'm pretty sure that you're good with them. No clue on the BBZ. I'd be sure to rinse whatever you use in freshwater as soon as possible once you're off the water...
  2. I don't have this particular lure, but I've never been disappointed with R2S's lures. Maybe someone screwed up and sent you the regular V-Joint Minnow? Or maybe you got a defective one? Contact River2Sea USA and see if they can help you.
  3. Or Tackle Warehouse!
  4. I'm planning on picking up the same combo, Okuma rod + Cardiff 301. What rod do you have? I'm looking @ the 7'11" H.
  5. I would say 6.4:1, good ratio for pretty much everything. Later, Agreed- That's why I'd go with: http://www.***.com/descpageRLCDAIWA-DEC.html In your price range. My first baitcaster was the Daiwa Procaster 100H, very inexpensive and still a nice reel. I still use it on occasion

This lure has been mentioned twice now, but I Googled it and cannot find anything about it. Do you have a link to a page with more info? Thanks!
  7. Spro's BBZ-1 4" Shad swimbait is 3/4 oz if you get the floater. http://www.***.com/descpage-SBZSFS.html Matt Lure's 2.5" Matt Shads are .3oz http://www.***.com/descpage-SBZSFS.html Matt Lure's 4.5" Matt Shads are 1.2oz (a little heavier) http://www.***.com/descpageSWMMATT-MLMS45.html River2Sea's 3" V-Joint Minnow weighs 3/8oz http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SVM.html It also comes in a waking version: http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SVMW.html River2Sea's Live Eye 3" & 4" Bottom Walkers weigh 3/8oz and 5/8oz respectively. http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SLBW.html Hopefully these will help!

Interesting fact but That really proves nothing as far as what works best for big fish though. Swimbaits haven't been popular very long and alot of trophy fisherman throwing the really big stuff aren't keeping 13 pounders for studies. It proves the fact that Big Baits don't mean big bass; aside from swim baits the #1 big bass bait may well be a jig but think about it a jig-n-craw aint but 4 maybe 5 in length. I think that the reason that only nine share lunkers were caught on 8+ inch baits is because most people don't use baits that big because they don't have confidence in them. i don't know though because I just caught my biggest bass yesterday and it was on a big white spinnerbait near a creek channel loaded with wood. *Ding Ding Ding* I think we have a winner! I agree, I think that the Share Lunker stat quoted here doesn't apply because of 2 reasons. First - many people do not throw baits over 8" for bass, both because they don't have confidence in them and also because they don't own any. Second - As far as bass fishing goes, I really think that baits over 8" have gotten a following in the past few years. Yes, there were people who were throwing big baits before then, but they were not your everyday bass fisherman. Now, more and more fisherman are throwing the big baits. It'd be interesting to see what the Share Lunker stats are for 2000 - present, I wonder if it would be a different story...
  9. I think the OP was asking about the Tru-Tungsten 4" baits The BBZ Shad does look awesome though! I've got one on the way
  10. Tackle Warehouse says late fall, Tru Tungsten's website says New for 2009... Choose your poison
  11. When I fish poppers (not necessarily just the Hula Popper), I use them parallel to lily pads, in woody cover, and above submerged weedbeds. The Hula Popper also seemed to be more of a "BLOOP" it and let it sit popper vs. one that should be worked fast. I'll cast out a Hula Popper and then let it sit until the rings from it landing are gone. Then I'll *BLOOP* it, pause for a couple of seconds and repeat, etc. Vary the length of your pauses and the intensity of your bloops until you find what the bass are into that day. Enjoy!

I threw my regular buzzjet for the first time today, but didn't have any luck. The action is definitely erratic and I know it will produce. I liked it, so I'm going to get the jr. in the bluegill color. (I have the Matte Chartreuse) bass_fin@tic, how do you work the lure?
  13. Catching salmon in the river is awesome! I use a spinning rig, so my methods are a little bit different than a fly-rodder, but here's what we use. A 3-way swivel with a 1oz or so weight on one part and a leader with a fly or simple octopus hook with a spawn sack or skein. Good times!
  14. The color shown is Natural Shad. Tackle Warehouse currently has them instock.
  15. Thanks for the report I'll be picking one up, not sure what color yet. How does that Natural Shad look in the water?
  16. River2Sea's Dragonfly Popper http://www.tackletour.com/reviewriver2seadragonfly.html Only place I've seen them is the store that must not be named. I wish TW carried them...I think they'd be fun to fish.
  17. Best reply yet! I just hope that the reason the OP hasn't replied lately isn't b/c he tried something and got hurt!
  18. Why make a choice? Buy a couple of both!
  19. How about this one??
  20. Be sure to buy enough so you can use the coupon below! $10 off $25 Purchase (Opens a .pdf file) A "deal" website, Slickdeals, has this coupon. Download and print in color. Saves you $10 off of a $25 purchase.
  21. I bet the teenage girl bass will be all over that!
  22. That's no fun! Is the tree climbable?
  23. Looks like you had a great day! That river looks beautiful!
  24. I picked one up, I've only thrown it for about 20 minutes and didn't get anything on it, but it has some SWEET action!
  25. I live in the Milwaukee area but really haven't found many nice area to fish yet. I've heard that Estabrook park is good for smallies, but haven't checked it out yet. Most of the other parks I've checked in the area were super shallow mudholes that I couldn't buy a bite out of. Foxbrook Park in Brookfield is the nicest one I've found, but you have to pay to enter/park.
