  1. I made a compact Ned rig box using a small double sided Plano stowaway. The only negative I noticed was pink trds getting stained when stored with darker colors. https://www.planomolding.com/fishing/stowaway-utility-boxes/adjustable-double-sided-stowaway-medium-3400
  2. If I had to choose 2 lures to fish with I'd go with a senko (wacky rigged is my favorite way to throw it, but it's so versatile!) and the ned rig. I suck with jigs, which is the only reason they aren't on there. I love catching on spinnerbaits and jerkbaits, but the senko and ned rig are my go-tos when I absolutely need a skunk breaker.
  3. For other people's reference, here's an image showing the coverage:
  4. Strange, I got a 52qt one and it was awesome on a trip out west this summer. Definitely held ice like a champ!
  5. Yup, it was listed as shipped. ?
  6. My wife's order showed up without the most expensive lure yesterday...this will be interesting to see what they say. I really wish it had been the $10 bait missing, not the $30 big game popper!
  7. Check your spam folder, it went there in gmail. I'm guessing that's where it's at.
  8. For targeted accounts only FYI
  9. It's Gander Outdoors.
  10. It looks like they eliminated the ability to apply multiple discounts to a single item. If you need braid, you can still get 600 yards of Suffix 832 and 2 free lures of your choice (including a $30 saltwater popper or a ultra light kit with 4 UL sized rapalas in it) for around $46 shipped. Not quite as hot, but still very good!
  11. Sunrise at about 2 miles out. The rollers were a pain in the ass on this trip. To be clear, we do it right. Vhf radios, flares, pfds, GPS, etc. We check the wind, wave, and precipitation forecasts and monitor them while on the water.
  12. The rapala deals are still active and even hotter. I needed some more braid, so I did a search to see what codes I could find. I came up with the following: 20LURE, 15RAPALA, FISH10, THANKS10, WELCOMELURE, and FREESHIP49. Somehow, they combined to give me 2 free lures of my choice, free shipping, and a massive discount...
  13. I would 100% rather fish out of my kayak than a bass boat. No, I don't own a bass boat, but I use friends' boats and still prefer my kayak. There's something about being in a kayak on the lake that you just don't get in a boat. It's more peaceful and you tend to see more nature ime. And when salmon fishing Lake Michigan I would 100000% rather be in my kayak. There's nothing quite like being 2 miles off shore and hooking with a salmon for a sleigh ride!
  14. Thanks, grabbed a pair. I've been very happy with the Smith chromapops, but have wanted to give these a try for while.
  15. A big key out of a kayak is to use an anchor pole when you can. I made an old one out of extra 3/4" pvc that worked ok. My new one out of a 3/4" fiberglass stake is beefy as sin and 2' longer for deeper areas.
  16. Yup, and Lowrance's version is no where near as good as Garmin's from all the reviews I've seen. Garmin's original panoptix is pretty sweet, but their livescope is mind-blowing.
  17. I finally got my Livescope installed and out on the water and didn't have that interference. I'm running tvg on low or medium and noise/interference reduction on medium. Adjust color gain as needed to see your lure. I was amazed by the technology. It's eye opening to see how many fish come after your baits and peel off! ?
  18. $3US ($4 CAD) off an ebay purchase with code PROMO3 I bought some of these drop shot weights for a total of $0.20 shipped. Can't beat that! https://www.ebay.com/itm/163552750742
  19. I've never had luck with Slammers and I've thrown them quite a bit. For numbers my best big baits have been the 3:16 Baby Wake and Mattlures Hardgill. The Bullgill has been good for me as well considering how little I've thrown it.
  20. Blame the US Supreme Court, not Wisconsin. To be fair, legally you should have been paying sales tax on your online purchases when you filed your WI taxes in years past.
  21. To be fair, I caught some good bass after saving up my allowance money to buy the helicopter lure kit as a kid. I still remember one strike in particular where the bass came shooting out from under a dock and just smoked it. I caught more on the helicopter lure than I ever have on Doug Harmon's snake lures. ?

I am big on sun protection. I know way too many people who have had skin cancer. I wear Under Armour fingerless gloves, a long sleeve Under Armour, Columbia, or Huk shirt, Columbia or Buff buff, and a Tilley sunhat. I've had the Under Armour gloves for 2 years now and they are like new despite many hours if being worn while kayaking and fishing. If you want a new hat, you want a Tilley. I've had mine for 2 years now and it still looks like new. I just toss it in the wash when it needs it. I highly recommend their LTM6 and am picking up a LTM8 this year for hotter weather.
  23. I've been running a Garmin Echomap CHIRP 73sv on my kayak for a few years. I upgraded to a Echomap Plus 93sv this last fall and used it for ice fishing. I got plenty of battery life (8hrs+) out of a LiFePO4 10aH. I'm pumped to have the 9" screen on the yak this year.
  24. This is the topic I referred to for rigging.
  25. I usually set my kids up with a wacky rigged senko on a 1/0 circle hook. Simple to fish, hard to hook yourself with, and doesn't generally snag up.
